Meta killers without meta perks?

What do you guys think about going against killers that are meta/unfun to go against when they either have no perks or bad perks that give them barely any benefits? Do you think it balances them out or are they still overpowered/unfun to go against?

If you lose against them, they are still unfun. If you win - that's fine.

It might help balancing out the 4v1 aspect but in a 1v1 scenario the respective killer is usually still unfun to go against/ oppressive in chase.

I have no fun against spirit one way or another

It would help but like someone said above, some survivors insta-DC because they see a certain killer is being played.

I played perkless Blight sponsored by the Survivor Rulebook (Always run to the opposite side of the map after hooking, even if you see someone next to the hook, never attack the last 2 survivors hooked and don't slug) tonight and while many really liked the meme, I did end up being flamed for "tryharding" by a team that I 4k'd, which was honestly pretty funny.

I think some survivors don't like losing, that's all to it. It doesn't matter how fair you play and how much counterplay there is, if they lose then it obviously had to be unfair etc.

Thankfully that, along with a DC on Perkless Deathslinger according to the Survivor Rulebook, were the only 2 examples of bad sportsmanship out of around 12-15 games that were mostly chill and those Survivors are just the minority.

I'm not gonna like playing against a Spirit Freddy etc. one way or the other, doesn't matter if they're perkless or packed to the brim with meta perks, their chase mechanics are still atrociously boring.

Boring either way, death hook is first hook as always.

This mentality that you're not going to do something because you are above it is gross. Thanks for peeing in the pool.

Where did I say I wasn't gonna "do something"? All I said was I dislike Spirit and Freddy, I don't give up whenever I see one I play the match out. What the hell is it with you people and assuming so much on the forums, and then going out of your way to insult and flame people who have a negative opinion about something? I also never said I was above it, where the ######### did that come from?

He does have a point though. I can put up with Freddy for the most part but whenever I go against spirit you're pretty much guaranteed a bad game. Either people just dc or run at her and give up or you do play against her just to get hit at a loop because you have no visual or audio signs that she's using her power like every other killer in the game. Or you guess she is using her power just to slow vault over the pallet and get caught out by her 200iq mind game of standing still. Now that's some fun gameplay.

Just play whatever, but don't justify it. If you want to win, try to win. Use whatever. Lots of it is broken, but whatever: you're trying to win, and I genuinely wish you luck and fun. If you just want to have fun playing a certain killer, whatever: play them, it's just a killer. The problems surrounding certain killers isn't the communities fault, it's the developers, and the only fault that the community has is trying to justify or misrepresent perks, killers, add-ons, etc. for the purposes of telling themselves that they are the victims and that everyone else is wrong, I.E people that complained about nerfing Prayer Beads or Omega Blink. Not people that used them, people that complained about them being removed.

TLDR: Just play what you want, but it's important to acknowledge that some things are inherently unfair and will carry you and/or make your opponents miserable.

  • Do what you want.

I assure you, survivors are not going to do you any favors.

You give them an inch they will stretch it a mile, got 2 people in basement and you could just...stay there and win because they still have like 4 gens to go, but you leave or outright let them just go save them and get out? Don't be surprised if they t-bag you at gate and call you bad and a camper after a 4 man escape.

Survivors are going to be running DS and Head on, they are gonna be in discords, they are going to have OoO and use every possible advantage that exists almost every single time- so expecting the killer not to is ludicrous.

Is my build meta as I will run it on every killer.

Light born so no more flashlight stuns iron grasp so I can get a better to defend hook location blood warden to punish survivors that don’t leave and a swap out perk I currently have set to dying light

This is not a valid question. It starts out with the idea that killers are OP, and then goes on to suggest that they would still be OP without meta perks. Killers are not OP. They just seem that way to unskilled players. I don't find any of the "meta" killers to be unfun to go against. Non-meta killers, like Trapper, bother me far more. It's not that he is OP, but I will ultimately step on a trap that I don't see, and that gets into my head. Most problems that some survivors have with killers is on their side, not the killers.

And, of course they would be easier without meta perks, just like survivors would be.

    That was sarcasm, dude

However, that still works that way, even if some people don't realize it. There's no boring killers, but it is boring to realize that you aren't good enough to do something to beat them.

So... it's sarcasm but actually not?

A lot of people seem to have that mentality, but I would also say it's boring to go against a killer if their power is just tedious to deal with, even if you win. Winning or losing isn't the only deciding factor. Legion and clown aren't good killers but not many people enjoy facing them.

I mean, I get this playing Clown, and I pretty much NEVER run meta perks except PGTW occasionally and only because thematically it’s his perk.

Survivors can just be really really petty.
