DC penalty is needed but right now it's flawed

Whoever designed DC penalty for Dead by Daylight didn't consider facts about the game.
- The game isn't optimized for console. Not everyone is able to afford NASA PC to run this game flawlessly. My friend and I had issue with the blue screen error on PlayStation. It resulted in us being banned from queuing.
- The game isn't balanced. Sometimes I don't feel like going against a killer with busted addons so I'm gonna DC. Same situation when I'm playing killer against SWF that communicates and they are negating my perks! Using stealth killers on open maps is pointless.
- For some reason sometimes when killer DCs I would get penalized for no reason. This doesn't happen that often but it's still affecting me.
- People are killing themselves on the first hook to avoid penalty. You stated DCing is harming remaining players but how is suicide on the hook isn't doing the same?
Conclusion: Your DC penalty shouldn't accumulate more than an hour. Getting people banned for 24 hours is ridiculous. Everyone DCs once in awhile but stacking banns is just wrong and you're harming matchmaking pool.

I do agree that it escalates too much. A lower cap would work plenty well for deterrence without as harsh side effects.

I'm happy you understand. I'm not toxic and I don't encourage DCing but right now it's just too much. My friend is banned for 12 more hours! The way it accumulates is just crazy!

- understandable
- you take the loss, if you refuse to play the match you queued for that's on you
- if it happens to you it needs to be fixed.
- the problem is how the game going make the difference between someone trying their luck and screwing up the mashing and a suicide
conclusion: if you dc so much that you get 24 hours that's on you (you have to dc a lot to get there to begin with), and because of your second point you admitted not all your dc are legitimate.

I play PS. I've never been dc. The rest is rage quiting and you should be punished harder.

i play ps4 and DC’d myself to an hour ban. That took about 5+ Rage quits. It’s pretty ######### generous

Right?????

DC penality is totally fine.
It reminds me for all the game issues i should go and play something else because of.
Thanks for the DC pen, i actually go and play something else.

I don't think the DC penalty is too harsh in the slightest, the first few penalties are very lenient to take into consideration any game/internet issues you might have.
DC'ing because you don't like how the other side plays is EXACTLY the reason that DC penalties were introduced in the first place because that was happening so often. A survivor got downed quickly, they DC'd, a killer's hex totem was broken early, they DC'd. Those were the types of behaviour that DC penalties are attempting to prevent and as the DC rate has dropped a lot then they're definitely working.
It's unfortunate that sometimes a bug or game issue causes a DC penalty, but those cases are minimal compared to actual rage quits.

Your first point I've never heard of this on console so I can imagine if it did happen it would be on a very rare occasion so take the 5 mins to send a message to support so they can look into it and then the timer will probably be over once you have.
DCing because you don't like what you're up against deserves to be bannable because just because you don't like it doesn't mean the rest of the team has a problem with it or should be in a 3v1 because of it.
You're third issue I haven't come across this before but as you said it's very rare so if you play normally it would only be 5 min so like point 1 just send a message to support to get it looked into.
The last point suicides are annoying but they are a built in mechanic in the game until they make struggling automatic so we can't do anything about this, however if you're wanting to dc and upset with penalty's I'm not agreeing with it but you can take that option instead.
Honestly if I'm that annoyed with the game that I want to DC I'd be fine if they gave me a 12 hour ban everytime because if it's getting to me that much I don't want to try and play for the rest of the day anyway so the break would do me good.

I think the 5 minute penalty for dc is fine but to punish people for dying on the hook? How could you prove they weren't just trying to get off the hook and gave up because they didn't want to keep button smashing when other survivors were across the map? Don't get me wrong i get you and it is indeed frustrating but i would rather suck it up and deal with it then risk the chance a fellow gamer was punished because it seemed like they did something wrong when they didn't.

Dude! I can run DBD on a ######### laptop and have no problems at all.
If you can't stand losing, go play tutorial, where you can't lose
Killer's DC won't penalize you at all. You won the game, keep your item, not losing ranks.
Banning people for suiciding won't solve YOUR OWN PROBLEMS.
Why i never have a problem with DC penalty? Even if i DC, which is rarely. 2 times a week maximum. Mostly because I don't want to be slugged for whole 4 minutes when killer is searching for the last alive player.
And you quite forget what was this game before DC penalty. It was a nightmare. 1.5 survivors were dcing on avarage, every game. Most on the first down.

If I'm not having fun Instead I guess the hook gets me on 2nd stage. These penalties should not have been put in the game. Instead of penalties, there should have been better matchmaking implemented into the game.
I don't think putting me and my friend in with a rank 1 killer is fun. My friend is literally rank was 14 and now he deranked to 15 and has 0 good perks.
What am I suppose to do if the can't do anything other that die? It's not fun for either of us.
This is an example. We got into a match with a rank 2 nurse. The nurse face camped the hook every time they got a hook. Let's just say it was a fast match with no penalties.
The only other game that implemented penalties I've played was DCUO and that's because it was a dead game giving dead lobbies. The only games I've seen putting penalties into their games is the ones with less players where the game has almost died.

Yes match making is horrible and is imo the biggest problem with the game. Still not an excuse to dc. You don't know rank until the end of game anyways. You failed to state what level you are. A new rank 14 killer shouldn't have to deal with a lvl 6 survivor. Under your logic the killer should just DC. Don't confuse ranking with bloodpoints. If he needs perks he can just play another match. I solo Qued until I maxed out my 1st survivor and then maxed out my 1st killer before I played as a killer. Alot of bad games but did not DC.

If your on about me, I'm a red rank killer and a red rank survivor.

I really don't think you understand how unbalanced this game is against players. Don't expect a reply from me. Like I said in my previous games. The only games that have penalties for leaving is dead games.

So your a red survivor dcing because you didn't get an easy killer with your friend? In this case its not bad matchmaking the system worked just fine. Still not an excuse to DC. Especially in a swf. There are 2 other survivors who want to play. Resorting to name calling does not help your argument.
