People who brag about using DS, a toxicity that needs to stop

Everyone already knows about the problems regarding DS, what I want to complain here is the whole stigma survivors have about killers who get hit by DS.

So I've had my fair share of killer matches, I always try my best not to tunnel, I always "respect" DS and I manage to get 4ks pretty consistently.

However there are a few situtaions where gambling DS is a good thing and sometimes the only way for you to get back to the match:

1 - If you apply a lot of pressure early game and there are 5-4 unrepaired gens, gambling DS can be beneficial considering you can get someone dead on hook early or get rid of DS early so you can tunnel them later.

2 - If you are playing as Demo/Pig with 8 stacks of STBFL you can tunnel someone who is dead on hook, let them DS you, swap obsessions and then down them with your special attack to preserve your stacks.

3 - You get a terrible early game, you didn't manage to apply pressure and you gamble DS on a survivor who is dead on hook to try and work your way back into the game. This is sometimes the only option if you find no one else to chase.

All the examples I listed above are strategies, they require thought, skill and are risks the killer takes in order to get an advantage in the match.

The problem is when survivors immediately start flaming you on end game chat simply for the fact that you got hit by DS, no matter the circumstance, no matter the situation, no matter the scenario, it's always "You got hit by DS, you are trash".

This absolutely need to stop, I'm tired of getting flamed by toxic survivors because in ONE match out of the 10-15 other matches I played in the day I decide to gamble/not respect DS and be considered a bad killer because of that no matter the situation I was in. If you are this type of person STOP, you hit ONE skill check, that's it! This doesn't make you a pro player.

I lost track of the amount of matches where survivors play dumb or put themselves in danger because they have DS, they hit me with it and think they are the best players in the world because of it, or that the killer is the worst killer in the world because they got DSed.

Before you go bragging about using DS, please, analyse the situation, observe the scenario the killer is in and know how to differentiate what is tunneling and what isn't before you say "If you don't wanna get DSed just don't tunnel".

How about we don't compare a perk in a video game to a terminal illness, seems like a great start. Nvm thanks man

The one that bothers me the most is during end game and they get downed at the exit gate and either they crawl out of you pick them up and get hit with ds. Either way they get a guaranteed free escape but still feel the need to be like haha gg ez baby killer. It's honestly embarrassing tbh.

I'm surprised this is a thing, I have never in my 4,000 hours been called trash or anything really for getting DS'd, let alone seeing something like that often. I have to wonder how so many players get so many end game chats at all since crossplay when I either get the cold silence of consoles or just 'ggs' from everyone.

Maybe it's a regional thing and west coast people just don't feel the need to say much.

You can play the game any way the game permits you to play. You can choose to do whatever you want about DS and no survivor can tell you othewise.

What I will say about the BM chat is that this behaviour exists in any multiplayer game in which you compete against other players. If I have a negative KD in CSGO - I'm going to get flamed for it. If I feed in League of Legends - I'm going to get flamed for it. If I don't pick a support in Overwatch when the team needs it - I'm going to get flamed for it. All these games I mentioned have in game chats.

Count your blessings that you don't have to deal with actual voice chat or text chat in game. Have you played Friday the 13th? Imagine playing Jason and having a youngster tell you that they have had sex with your mother? All these threads about other players behaviour really has to stop because it will never change. Human nature says it will not change.

My advice is to click next match before reading that text box as much as your insecurities tell you to. It will make you feel much better. Type ggwp and go next brother!

Who cares, honestly? Some survivors complain/trash talk about the stupidest things. You can play the cleanest, nicest killer game ever and some people will still find something to be toxic about. I just ignore them.

A lot of killers do the same thing, they will GG EZ you after they get their 4K. Funny hting is sometimes they don't even get a 4K but they'll GG EZ you anyway.

Toxic people will be toxic, and there's a lot of them on both sides.

Yes I've mentioned the same thing on previous posts, however this isn't the subject of the post so I don't see how that's relevant to this conversation.

There's really no incentive to NOT brag about it. The devs wont touch the survivor meta.

Just stop caring about the fun for survivors. There's no real motive for you to be nice to survivors, just play for yourself because with how the "He who shall not be named" dev balances the game, you're the only person you can rely on.

I think this might be a regional thing indeed, I'm from Brazil and I play on the South American server and this behaviour is pretty common there, specially when I get matched against players from Chile, Argentina or Bolivia where they usually call me a "monkey" for being brazilian.

I won't deny that I can be toxic sometimes, but the ONLY two situations where I am "toxic" is when survivors escape with a key or when I get a 4k against a key team. The reason for it is because I really despise keys and I think they are super unhealthy for the game. Since I'm a killer that never uses NOED or Moris and try my best to play fair I, at the very least, expect survivors to not use keys, whenever I see one I use Franklin's.

1- If survivors escape with a key I say:

    "As the poet once said"

"If with a key thou escaped, hard thou will be butt raped"

"Just don't go complaining about Moris or NOED if you use a stupid thing like that"

    2- If I get a 4k against a key team

    "gg wp"

"People who use keys deserve no mercy"

Those are the only situations I can think about tho.
