Killers giving the most useless survivor hatch
Why do I even need to ask this why are you killer mains giving THE WORST survivors the hatch? Example I sit there and do 3 gens and I get caught over the complete wuss hiding in a locker or just crouching in the corner of the map then the killer gives the hatch to the last survivor aka Mr Ash who did Jack all game. So tell me what makes you give the last survivor hatch do you feel bad for them because they're a noob and can't do a gen for a second without blowing it or do you just like to torture us survivors that work hard in the match?

they'll rank up and suffer more

Yea been there, lol. Frustrating as all hell.

For me personally, ill give hatch or drop someone at an exit based on one of 3 things.
1 they did exceptionally well compared to their teammates and would have won if not for the silly dudes they got stuck with.
2 they got screwed by teammates in some way, either being sandbagged or unsafely unhooked, or whatever else.
3 the team died with little effort from me and I just feel bad and in turn generous to give an escape

Who ever is the last survivor gets hatch. Typically the stealthy ones last longer

Well, my guess is as a killer player maybe they have no ######### clue what the survivor you're mad at actually did.
So while you feel what they did was a crime worthy of posting about it, the killer probably doesnt have any idea about what you're angry at.
Or maybe it IS because they know the survivor is new and want to give them a break. Not everyone feels the appropriate response to an obviously new player is to humiliate them, waste as much of their time as possible once the game is essentially over, then shout all the slurs. All of them. Every one.

Can't speak for other killers, but most of the time when I give a survivor the hatch I don't really put any thought into it.

How exactly are killers to know the specific details about what a survivor was doing all trial?

I'm all for giving the new survivors an escape but it's more the annoying "red rank" survivor that sits there with urban evasion, Dead Hard, Decisive and Unbreakable all they do is protect themselves and crouch around the map all game

Was thinking the same thing... How am I supposed to know who did the most or least work and deserves hatch? I only start keeping track of who's who if you get cocky with the teabags and flashlight spam. Other than that, you're all just meat bags to be sliced up and sacrificed.
On another note, I don't like the free hatch escape mechanic in general. If I 3k the team, I did my job, and I don't think it's fair that the last survivor gets a free escape due to luck of finding the hatch first. Hatch should only open up for free if there is 1 or 2 gens left, then at least they sorta worked for it, but 3+ gens left? No hatch for you imo. Keep on repairing or suck it up and die with dignity.

Unless it's blatantly obvious that even the killer catches on, I usually wouldn't know if you've had any useless teammates because I'm busy doing my own thing throughout the game (such as chasing people, damaging gens).
Therefore if I give the most "useless" guy Hatch, I understand how you'd definitely feel frustrated but there's no point in directly blaming killers especially when they haven't been babysitting you all game to know that.

The survivor that gets pulled out of a cupboard and hooked twice comes to mind

I give hatch to:
The last person if it was a laid back game for me
Survivor that did something that made me laugh
The third If I slug them to hunt down the last guy because I don't like the last guy for whatever reason and really don't want them to have a chance at hatch.

Because I think matchmaking failed and threw a brand new player in with me before it turns out they're a red rank.

I understand that they don't know I'm talking about the survivor that is blatantly trying to kill off their team

And how are they to know that that wasn't the survivor that did 3 gens solo? Bearing in mind you asked a general question, not anything specific about the trial you are mad about?

They won't keep repairing or die with dignity if they're the only one left and can't get hatch, they'll spend 30 minutes stealthing around doing nothing out of spite and you'll have no other way of ending the game. It's why hatch and EGC exist.

1 survivor left with no hatch? Killer opens gates. Fixed.

horror movies rules, last survivor gets away.

They could have just thought it was funny because it's a locker Dwight. Also could just think the poor Dwight has no clue what's happening. It's hard to look into that little bastards eyes going wide in a locker and not want to let him go.
Seriously tho most killers do not put near the thought into it that you're thinking. More often than not if you get hatch it's likely because you happened to be the last and didn't contribute to the killers unnecessary stress.
Honestly the thing that leads me to let survivors go are really just: Played the game, played to win, didn't tbag literally every spare second, and I catch them running for an escape or pulling the lever I will almost always let them go... crawling on their stomach but they still get out.
Maybe that Dwight was just a pleasant person to play against, or they just felt bad?

Ha that's rich sure I've seen you on the forums being petty before 😂

As other people have said, when I play killer, it's more about what you did to me, and not about what you did to your teammates, as unless it's something blatant, I'm too busy playing my end of the game, and I can't necessarily know everything else going on.
I've had games where I've given hatch/door if I've specifically seen that survivor do something that I thought warranted it -- I spared a Bill once who could have escaped (exit was open, two of his teammates were dead, and he was on death hook, but he came back for his last hooked teammate -- that level of altruism deserved to be rewarded!).
And as much Pig as I play, I've always given hatch to someone who was simply willing to boop the snoot. This is one of those things it's probably best not to overthink.

I pretty much always give the last surv hatch unless I'm going for adept or they were toxic.

Why would the opposite team reward the best player in the other team? That would be encourage them to keep playing and giving killer a hard time.
But killers should not give hatch at all.

if its down to 2 and one guy just stealth around the map not trying to get stuff done then I'd rather give the hatch to those who gamble on getting that last gen done over hiding out till the hatch.
If everyone just hides then they're all getting strung up if I find em or the hatch first.

Sorry this happened to you. I personally keep an eye out for this as killer. Just last night had a jane on hook, claudette on my shoulders carrying to hook, nancy free out in open I assumed going for rescue right? Nope lets Jane die on hook I drop claudette and go on the hunt for nancy who I was going to give hatch to because that's my survivor main but that is just unacceptable, she died claudette lived.

I usually give it to whoever is left, as well.
I've never had anyone tell me post chat that I gave the hatch to the wrong player or anything.
Usually, everyone's pretty happy that someone got some extra points :)

It sounds like you are jealous lol

^exactlynhow I go about it. Zero thought. If I have to start thinking about who I give hatch because of posts like this, I’ll simply hook everyone.

I never give the most skillful survivor hatch, if you were really that good you could of escaped without my pity. A newer player though? I help them out when it's very obvious that matchmaking screwed them over.
