Mmr is on, turn it off or the game will lose a tons of players again
I've done 7 killer games at rank 1 and i was facing survivors with 50-100hrs, they were around rank 13. They had no chance, games over in 5m and 0gens got done.
Mmr is on there's no way it isn't, new players will drop the game and casual players too

I think it will be turned on when the clown update hits live. What time are you playing? From what I understand, playing in the daytime is a lot easier for killer
5 -
What makes you think MMR is on if you feel you are being matched with players with very different skills? Surely that means MMR is not on, unless you mean you think it's on but is just totally broken?
4 -
Last time MMR was on, the matchmaking was completely broken.
Players with 20 hours going against 3000+ hour players. It was bad.
12 -
Ah ok, thanks for explaining, I've been playing since October so I guess that preceded me.
2 -
No worries!

Pretty sure it's not turned on yet, I was under the impression that will happen when the clown update comes live. I could be wrong though, I guess.

It’s not turned on. Where have you guys been these past months? Matchmaking is totally broken and that’s why we need the MMR system... there is no need to doom it just because the first Testphase was not working (which was the very reason the devs turned it off again and were working on it since)
8 -
Matchmaking has been broken like this for a year, maybe more. The devs aren't going to ~secretly~ turn it on, chill out.
6 -
Right now there are simply way more red rank survivors than red rank killers playing so what happens is when survivor queue times get too long, survivors end up getting throw into lobbies to get them into a game. This is what leads to rainbow rank matches

If it was on, you'd never see a potato again after a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on how often you played and how often you got 2+k. personally, if I played a killer again, I'd only play them so far as that point and then even ift he queue was an hour for survivor I'd just not touch killer or the game until bp events free'd survivor queue time sup a bit like recently. Not gonna deal with sweat on killer if I even decide to play that side again lol I'd need to see at least 100k bp on average per game as killer to bother with it again. and even then I'd only Need to do that on my psn account, my steam has everything up to date except the twins perks, it has melodies though bought her with shards since I didn't like the killer and they would only ruin it anyways if it was halfway decent.

Matchmaking is a mess and was "turned off" so you get matched with who ever. It's been like this for over a year. 🤷♀️

I will drop the game because i'm tired of looping the killer for 3+ minutes after he downed my entire team in under a minute. If MMR is on, the only thing its looking at is whether or not the survivor escaped. My teammates are not getting any better, and neither are my chances of escaping.
I'm tired of running the killer for multiple minute long chases, without even losing a health state, only to have the killer leave me and down a survivor in under 15 seconds. I'm tired of looping the killer for 3 minutes at the end of the game, only to die on first hook. I'm tired of everything I do feeling meaningless, because my team can't hold a candle to impact I make on a trial.
I'm not being challenged. I'm being tortured.
1 -
Maybe they die in 15 seconds cause you used all the pallets in a 3 minute chase

It would help if you showed 7 consecutive endgame screenshots for credibility's sake. I get yellow ranks in my lobbies too sometimes, but not all of them, and not 7 in a row either. Or maybe you just got hit with some wonky RNG.

That 3 minute chase happens at the end of the match. Check your reading comprehension.
I'm pallet-concious and chain as many windows together as possible.
But hey, keep being ignorant to the fact that there are way too many survivors in red rank matches with their heads completely up their ass.
Here's me looping the killer for a whole minute on absolutely nothing.

And to wipe the smirk of your face, heres another minute of me looping the killer without throwing down a single pallet.
DBD would be a cakewalk if my teammates could match half these clips on a daily basis.
Instead I get Slug-Me Sammys who throw themselves right at the killer without BT or DS after unhook. Hell, even before they get hooked a first time.

Here, take 18 end-game screenshots.
This was from December, but nothing has changed since.

I did comprehend the 3 min+ chase was after the end of the match, but you also said multiple minute chases during the game too, so I just guessed at 3 again.
I mean honestly though, if you are looping a Killer for multiple minutes it sounds like the problem here is the skill difference between you and the Killer, not so much your team. It sounds like the survivors that Killer then goes and downs are closer in skill rating.
But yeah I'm fully agreed with you that the solo queue experience isn't too fun. Hopefully MMR will help

"Slug-me Sammy's who throw themselves right at the killer without bt or ds after unhook."
LMAO these ones you refer to can not and are not saved with bt and ds. The ds ones in particular are the clumsiest embarrassing looking ones that killer looks at like they were hatched out of a bad egg yesterday.

What's really funny is when they ran the last MMR change I had really balanced matches at my rank and general experience level almost every game. I must be the one person who's wasn't bitten by MMR and can't wait for it to come back. Purp to Red that is.
3 -
It worked fine for me as well.
the biggest problem was for completely new players that got matched against well experienced ones though. Which already happens now.... and it was clearly stated that the MMR had to be calculated in at least 10 matches before it can actually work.

Maybe that'll be the new "game the system" exploit, throw your first ten matches and then enjoy your juicy low success sweet spot for a good run easy 4ks.
I'm not condoning this I just wonder what all the red, red, red, brown smurf turd teams will do next.

I had played well over 100 matches during MMR's first life cycle and it did not get any better.
0 -
yeah? The devs acknowledged the problems though.. but now everyone thinks as soon as matchmaking doesn’t work that the bad bad MMR is at fault. Even though matchmaking haven’t worked for over a year..
0 -
A lot of people felt that they turned on MMR in the background.
They stated it is not on yet.
Well, okay.
I hope they will share at least a part of those values the MMR based on when it becomes online.
Somehow i have a feeling MMR will hurt the variety. I can not explain it, i just feel that you will face with the same killers over and over again with MMR.

That's because it got noticeably worse right before the BloodRush.
I was getting a Yellow or White Rank every, maybe 7 games while I was at Rank 1. That's fine, I can say that's just a SWF.
I have been getting them WAY more frequently now, may every 3 games or so. I have a more difficult time explaining that.

I would assume currently the problem is there are too few killers/too many survivors playing which screws the matchmaking even more.
at least for me (central Europe) the lobby times for survivor is pretty high while killer has instant lobbies.

NA Xbox One only.
Survivor queue times are anywhere from 10-20 minutes.
Killer queues are rarely over 5 seconds.

I can definitely confirm that MMR is not switched on, I know that there's a lot of complaints about matchmaking right now but it's not connected with MMR in the slightest.
6 -
Same. A handful of bad matches, but it wasn't as terrible for me as it was for others.
Or...
People just complain whenever there is any change.
1 -
If MMR works correctly then yes, high-ranked matches are only going to be the best killers running the best perks, because most killers in this game can't win against a full team of actual good survivors. Like, killers like Myers, Clown, Pig, GhostFace. They literally won't be able to keep up with the gen speeds.
0 -
What could be causing it? I was watching Otz yesterday and every single match he was going up against yellow and green ranks with maybe 1 red rank. Then the moment he turned off crossplay, he would start getting all Red Rank lobbies.
1 -
MMR is not going to fix matchmaking. Unless you’re talking about potentially fixing “skill” you’re matched against, based on what the devs secretly to equate skill to.
time for matchmaking, however, is broken. How steam charts says on average 35k+ are playing, because it feels like 2 years ago when it was around 20k or less
0 -
I think the queue times are breaking matchmaking. The longer someone waits in queue, the more lenient the matchmaking system seems to get and survivor queues are atrocious during prime time.
0 -
There is a high chance it is on, and has been on secretly for around 3 months.
For those unaware, before they officially launched it last time round, they openly admitted to secretly testing it out prior to the official launch.
To those who believe the new and improved MMR will actually help things... well you’re just as delusional as (use your imagination here)
