Stupid Bill got us killed
So I fished a key and already found the hatch. 1 Gen left, Leatherface 3-genned it and was camping it out.
I had Aftercare but only at level 1 so I called kate over to me and showed her the key and hatch, and dropped the key next tot he hatch. Then I go out and look for Bill. But Bill was playing with Leatherface and trying to tap gens next to hm.
No matter how much I call him he wouldn't come.
So I come closer to get his attention, but LF sees me and downs me.
I go on hook, then Kate tries to rescue me. She recues me but goes own. She also picked up the key, so now the key is with her. LF sees this and puts her on top of a hill. Now we can't get the key.
Kate dies, key drops to the ground, and I try to get it but LF camps it hard so I get caught and die.
Bill hangs out by the hatch and escapes.

Rule no1 never overestimate a bill it will always lead to death.

Poor Bill was actually trying to work gens whilst you guys were wasting time with keys. I'm glad he got the hatch in the end though.

Can't wait til the key/hatch system doesn't reward players for disengaging with the game.
I do not feel the Bill did anything wrong. I don't really think you did anything inherently "wrong" either. Just didn't play out. Killer got two instead of one so he is happy

If you and the Kate would of left I'm sure the Bill would of found the hatch too
And it was a Bill so he was probably running Left Behind? Right

Don't insult Bill. He might have a tough exterior but he's a kind old man behind it all.
In this case, it's not entirely Bill's fault. U did mess up yourself by getting too close and getting downed. Meanwhile, there were a series of other downs and saves that stem from that mistake. Finally there was the 3 gen itself. I think this is more of a team effort type of situation.

When bill Didnt follow you, you should have just left. There's being a team player and then there is being stupid.
As Ive been told by devs, this isnt a team game. Bill Didnt get you killed, you got yourself killed.

Hahaha! That story made me laugh. Just regular solo survivor things. Pretty funny though.

I got one for you...but some justice came at the end.
All 5 gens done, Meg and me at the gate with 99% - 4th guy long dead and Bill gets downed by the killer. So yeah we're going to try not leaving any man behind even if that man did little to nothing up til this point. So Meg gets aggro and I get Bill off the hook and this is not very far from the nearly opened exit.
Meg goes down gets hooked even closer to the exit. Killer aggros me and I lead him to other side of the shack deeper into the map and away from hook, so Bill can make an easy save.
No save comes....I go down get hooked (this was a Bubba so very few pallets left at this point) and see Bill crouched at the other side of the map. Meg is struggling - I'm on my first hook cause unlike Bill I didn't go down within 10 seconds of a chase - and this Bill just camps what I'm certain is where the hatch is.
Dude could of easily saved Meg and both of them leave without any problem - but this guy decides to look for the hatch and camp it while Meg and I of us slowly die.
The only justice, I held on long as I could and the killer caught on to what was happening. They found Bill's hatch camping butt, and yes...downed him within 10 seconds to throw him on the hook.

I usually sacrifice myself to save others. I just dont blame someone else if i die because they didn't listen to a stranger.

Rule #1: Always worry about yourself first if you really care about escape. You broke that rule by going to find somebody else and that came with a risk to your primary objective. If you don’t care so much about escape then fine, although the fact that you created this thread suggests that you did.

Also you shouldn't have given the key to Kate, you should just leave it next to the Hatch if you suspect you may go down.

Don't ever trust Bill. It's kind of a meme lately how bad Bill players are.
And while this is a sweeping generalization I won't feel bad in making it lol
If you have a key and another survivor with you and you're both on the hatch just leave like why on earth wouldn't you? That's a free win and if 2+ escape through hatch it's a huge loss for the killer
