Why doesn't Bubba have his own map?
You see, I wasn't here like 3 years ago when I came to the game and I wanted to ask you why Bubba doesn't have his own map? Why was the LEATHERFACE chapter not called, for example, The Texas Massacre Chapter? Well when you see Bubba's new skin in his trailer, you can see the kitchen of the house and that led me to my question, most likely due to his license but I want to know the rest.

He needs a map which is a giant basement that also has multiple basements below it

Hillbilly was essentially a clone of Leatherface as Trapper is to Jason so the set of the movie looks exactly like Coldwind Farm and I don't think they could easily have made a map that doesn't look like any of the Coldwind maps.

If he had his own realm it'd be to similar to coldwind and maybe the license holders didn't want it.

Maybe Bubba was an after thought? Now that you mention it most other license killers came with a map.
Freddy has Bedham. Pig has The Game. Demo has Hawkins. Mikey has Haddionfield.
GF doesn't have his own map but it's not the real GF. They only got the rights to use the costume so they had to invent someone to wear it.

Licensing contract would have been just for the killer I suppose, not for any of the locations from the movies. Same as GF.
The Twins and Blight however... just got unlucky ;(

If I’m not mistaken he came out with cowshed didn’t he?
0 -
Na, Cowshed is one of the OG maps.
Technically he came out alongside Grim Pantry, but it's not really 'his' map.

Easy solution to his map not getting confused with Coldwind Farm? Use Texas Battle Land from TCM Part 2. Bam. Done. Much more interesting of a location anyways.

DIfferent director so different license i think?
0 -
He does. He was released along with the Grim Pantry map. Not something from Texas Chainsaw but it's something.

Same director. Tobe Hooper.

Oh I always thought that was his map! Well in that case yeah he needs one kinda bad

I think he should get a map in the 'Grave of Glenvale' realm personally

Twins, blight, ghostface didnt get a map (correct me if I'm wrong) plague kinda got her own map not really though since it's just a reskin and I wouldn't consider the map updates as new maps.

Leatherface's chapter got shortchanged because of development resources being allocated toward the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter that came out a month later.
Kate Denson had originally been intended as a survivor to release alongside Leatherface; judging from her looks, I'm assuming she began life as Sally Hardesty, but they had to file the serial numbers off for whatever reason. Leatherface wound up getting released solo, and Kate got bumped to the next non-licensed chapter (Clown chapter). It's easy to assume any map concept that was intended for the Leatherface chapter also got similarly dropped.
As has been noted previously, existing maps also covered a lot of TCM's bases (woods, gas station, etc.). I would go as far as to say that the base concept (hooks etc.) and visual theme of DBD owe mostly to TCM, so it's probably the hardest IP to "fit in" when everything already looks like it!

Licenses are hard to negotiate, and maps are hard to design. Simply put, it's a lot of effort for not so great a return.

The "real" Ghost Face? Ghost Face is a persona-type disguise. The character can be anyone.

The "real" ghostface is the one in the scream movies. The costume and that character are owned by 2 different people. They only got the rights to one so they invented a character to wear it. They can't exactly make a map from the scream movies because they didn't get that half of the IP rights.
2 -
Perhaps you misunderstand. The characters in the Scream movies undergo the concept of being ordinary people, and when you look at them, they can be anonymous af.
They didn't need to aquire the Scream IP because Ghost Face is his own IP, albeit a cheaper and more flexible one too. Since it is simply a "generic" killer underneath the iconic mask, what difference would it really make for the killer if they had the Scream and Ghost Face licenses? Sure the map and the selection of survivors, but the killer would have no difference in appearance or concept to the original take they've given us already. BHVR going for just GF's IP was the smarter move, plus who knows? They've said if an IP isn't in the game after much request to this point, they may have not been able to get it anyway.
Ghost Face IS his own character rather than 2 separate things, it's just what is made of the individual beneath to make them even more unique.

They also have survivors and are more expensive, thus they are "Chapters" and not "Paragraphs". The 4 Paragraphs iirc are Ash Vs Evil Dead (Ashley J Williams), Leatherface (Cannibal), Ghost Face (Ghostface), and Left 4 Dead (William "Bill" Overbeck), all of which don't have an alternate survivor/killer or map.

Bubba is like Ghostface. Standalone killer with no map.
0 -
Bill must have been a paid character since he's on license, but it is free..
0 -
No, he's a free character. He may have cost BHVR money to licence however he's a free character available from the start, like David or Nea
0 -
He's not misunderstanding anything. You're just splitting hairs over something no one cares about.
The "real" Ghost Face is the one from Scream. The GF we have is not that. If it were he would not be a paragraph and would be a full chapter with a survivor and a Scream map.
That is all.
The persona angle thing you are trying to push is irrelevant and nobody cares about that really.

On console I don't think Bill is even playable. When they got the rights to use him dbd was only on PC. Console came later and they didn't want to renegotiate. So they put his perks in the bloodweb but Bill isn't in the game. Unless they changed it since the last time I've seen console.

Yeah, this. I get what @EvilJoshy is saying, but this character would have been functionally the same in DBD regardless of the status of the Scream license. It would have just been a lore difference. It's a guy in the Ghostface costume.
I suppose it would have been neat to get Sidney Prescott and maybe a Woodsboro map to go with Ghostface, but I imagine this would have just been another Haddonfield reskin, at the end of the day.

Let me correct you on one thing while brushing aside the ignorance of your own knowledge. The funny part about you saying he wasn't a Chapter, is that he actually was though, as inconsistent as that seems.

Bill was added to console a looong time ago, but your half right. He was absent from console ports for probably 2-3 years of DbD's lifespan.

I got the game for my nephew's xbox long time ago. I even lvled up his Nurse for NC. That was probably 2-3 years ago at the least.
