The Real Reason No One Runs Camaraderie
...its just 34 extra seconds you need to break your keyboard while your teammates decide they wont be able to get a safe unhook.

It's a meta tournament perk though so there is that.

I actually saw somebody running Camaraderie on my team the other day and was really surprised.
I have 1k+ hours in this game & that was literally the first time I've seen somebody run it.

With the upcoming patch, nearly 75% of the Stranger Things perks will have been buffed... yet somehow this one has been (wrongly) overlooked.

I have never seen camaraderie run ever. Except the one time I tried it out and no, never again.

Just another useless perk that you have to waste BP on

Its theoretically a really good perk for a low rank SWF.
Often you get facecamped first hook until you die so a swf could just focus on gens longer and make sure the killer only gets one kill.
As before said its used in tournaments as well because tunneling and camping are sometimes the best strats for a killer, yes even in tournaments.
But the average playerbase does not benefit from it and heres why.
- You need people to activate it propperly. Chances are low randoms will see that you have the perk and play accordingly, so you need a kinda coordinated SWF to make it work propperly.
- Killers facecamp less in red ranks, sure theres some camping here and there, but everybody runs BT either way and you can just unhook with bt and then trade 2 DS.
- The perk is locked behind steve, who need to be paied for.
So its a perk that could help new players, but its locked behind a paywall. Like zanshin and kates perk that lets you see vaults its just placed wrong.
If it was a perk you could get on everyone from the start of the game it would be better.
But right now its just too nieche.
Hope i could help a bit

Any buff to camaraderie would significantly affect balance of comp dbd, in which its already an S tier perk

Unless the killer is camping, the only time a survivor would come within so many meters of your ho ok k is to rescue you so it only really works of your against a camper on 2nd hook

It's a good perk for genuine teams, which is why it has the place it has in tournament play.
Most survivors (no matter if they're SWF or not, but even 4mans) fit the definition of "group" more than "team". More of a collection of people coordinating individual efforts than a true team all working towards an identical, mutual goal that's more important than individual experiences.
That is when Camaraderie can be good. But that's a playstyle that few people go all out with outside of tournaments (where of course people will do whatever it takes to win as a team), as most will probably find it more boring than the alternatives.

the fact that it only work for stage 2 and on you make it useless.
Buff it by making it affecting both normal and struggling stages and on any hooked survivor nearby like Streetwise, Leader and other AoE perks.
This way if you are the rescuer you get extra time to rescue and don't farm/

No one runs it for the same reason no one runs all the other incredibly niche perks; it only truly comes in handy maybe once every 50 games
If you need it that one game, it's a life saver and you'll be incredibly happy you have it on. In the other 49 games, you're playing with 3 perks because it never comes into play...

I somedays run it and it's been quite useful sometimes, but I have to say you need to use in SWF, and maybe with at least 2 friends, because there is no indicator you have it for your teammates.
If they watch carefully, they can notice the timer isn't going down, but... I noticed people don't really even notice that.
As example, yesterday I was camped at second stage by a Legion, it would be useful to get some gens done, but my teammates didn't do the gens and stood all nearby and farmed me.
So it's not really worth it. I'd suggest they add a indicator to every other survivor, so that you know how to take advantage of it, if viable. But I like it. I wish it worked on the first phase too, to punish even more camping.

Turbo controller. What is struggle state? Honestly though, it's one of the best survivor perks in the game. Just only really useful in a coordinated SWF.

Was his name "Stream Britneyspears". Cuz he almost always uses the Perk xD

Or maybe it's just that it doesn't do anything in a normal game, you are either going to get unhooked no matter what or your team just lets you die
2 -
Haha I wouldn't remember his name because it was quite a bit ago but I will definitely say I give him props for being so brave to use such a.. interestingly situational perk.

I don't run it because I don't have the scoops ahoy skin

Tunneling and camping are not the best strats, ever. Killers tunneled and camped in hexy’s tournament because they basically gave up and were trying to secure a few points. Watching someone play killer to hard camp someone for 60 sec, to force struggle, while 3 gens pop and 2 more are being worked on was...not enticing tournament play. I probably saw 2 or 3 killers that actually knew how to play killer at tournament level (and no, you don’t need to play like in 99% of your regular games)

What an easy change the devs could make too (notify team who’s running camaraderie, punish campers). Easy way to put an end to unnecessary camping while requiring a perk slot. Seems fair enough

He actually gets quite a lot value from it. For some reason he is a Killer magnet and also gets tunneled alot. Those 34 seconds give quite a lot of time for us while he is hooked and them save him last second with Borrowed.
This and DS are required Perks for him xD

I've used Camaraderie a few times (because it was one of the only perks I had) and it worked more than it didn't, so I'll give you that.
Tell him to run Camaraderie + DS + OoO + Dead Hard with a purple flashlight and the Shirtless David cosmetic to give the killers a run for their money since they want to tunnel him so much. Atleast they have a reason now, right?
xD in all seriousness though I'll have to try running it again & see if I get any use out of it.

Is it really?

The perk in theory is quite good but in reality, it kinda sucks. Sure, if your in a swf there are 3 rushing gens and then one rushes to the hook, you wont die for 34 seconds.

I used it a few times and it's funny as the killer must have wondered why I was taking so long to die. Its not useful apart from being camped or a late save. Not worth a perk slot. Should probably add 15 seconds to entity progression as a base or something.

I’m sure he got his adept Steve and that’s about it
1 -
It is. The way you play in tournaments as killer is play as nurse, run noed, get a hook and then camp him until he dies. Camaraderie will buy other survivors more time to finish gens.
0 -
It doesn’t need a buff. It just needs a notification so that other players know the person on the hook is running it, and can act accordingly to buy more time.

That and lose the required some one being next to you or expand the range because that belndet is gonna take a while to get to you
