You can trap survivors in basement as the twins (exploit please fix)
I was playing on the swamp map with the big boat and we were versing someone who was playing the twins. The last gen was finished and my friend got hooked in basement. The killer placed charlotte half way down the stairs and swapped to victor and just sat next to her. No one could get the save because we couldn't get down as the stairway was blocked. Please fix this it is impossible to save someone if it is done.

Was there no way to drop down past them? If there truly is no way that you can get past them (I figure you can't kick Victor in this situation? I haven't played against Twins enough to know) then yeah that definitely should be fixed LOL

Did you seriously think this was an okay response to a player literally blocking a gameplay mechanic of rescuing team mates, you can defend hook but making it outright physically impossible to get to hook for the save is game breaking! This isn't an, I'm entitled to my 4 man escape, its, a player was exploiting a design flaw to make someone elses gameplay experience miserable. Grow up man.

Well in this scenario the person was hooked in the basement so technically the person holding the game hostage was the survivors not in the basement not leaving, no?
But I guess if everyone is in the basement and there are still gens/gates to open, then yes I suppose that could be an exploit. When would you all want to be in the basement though

It was physically impossible they trapped my friend in the basement. There was no one to get past or to drop down and I couldn't kick victor because he was controlling him. Definitely needs to be fixed haha

That wasn't the point of my post. It was to get the information out there in the hopes that the devs would realise that you cant rescue survivors as it is physically impossible to save them due to exploiting. Camping is one thing but sometimes you don't get a choice to camp that is understandable. This person did it just to be toxic and exploit a broken mechanic.

Agreed. Absolute worse case they can hold the game hostage and if not trap multiple survivors in basement forcing the team to kill them to end game collapse.

Agreed. It can be abused and at worst can lead to the killer holding the game hostage and at best an exploit that forced survivors to either dc or be sacrificed due to end game.

It was two duos, we finished the gen and opened the gate whilst my friend was on hook. It was physically impossible to get the save. There was no holding the game hostage in this case but the basement was completely blocked leaving it to be physically impossible to get the save. That is the point im trying to make this exploit can lead to at worst holding a game hostage, at best forcing survivors to either dc or die to end game collapse.

This can be done as any killer in some basements, most notably the blood lodge basement. It's pretty ######### scummy but then again, bodyblocking is an intended feature

Yep, fair point. I saw someone else post this occuring in the Badham Preschool basement too, which is even worse as that's an active part of the map which can contain a gen. I suppose you could make it so that Charlotte and/or Victor has no hitbox in key parts of the map when they are not being controlled.

Even if it's a basement similar to shack and you can drop down past the Twins, it doesn't do much considering they can still sit there and block the stairs, preventing you from escaping and still leaving you trapped.

AFAIK if the killer stays at a certain point on a staircase for too long (such as the basement) their hitbox capsule actually shrinks to allow survivors to squeeze past them, which works for everyone but twins.

There are many places where the game can be held hostage, it is against the rules. What is being described in this post is not against the rules and is similar to survivor body blocking which is allowed. Not a bug.

If you didn't pick up on it, I was being sarcastic. Body blocking is an allowed mechanic, whether to make you die on the hook or prevent someone from being hooked.

Yeah but blocking someone from entering an area of the map isn't fine.
Go to another hook, or get some hits to scare them away before pick up. It's an allowed mechanic because it doesn't completely ######### over any chance the killer has.
If survivors bodyblocking hooks meant the killer had no possible way to complete their objective that would be bad, but that is not the case.

We were thinking a similar thing actually. That way at least it’s possible for survivors to actually get out rather then be held hostage like that. Hopefully they will do something like that so there won’t be any more situations of that leading to the twins holding the game hostage. I didn’t even think about Springwood actually but yeah that would be so horrible being stuck down there permanently. I hope they change this because it is very abusable.

Well I dont think thats even as severe as 3 survivors body blocking you in a corner till u drop a survivor and ur stunned for 5seconds...
Also u can switch to victor that close to the hook so I dunno what u on about... u actually gottta go around 25ish m away before u can switch

ohh I got one, what about the combain exploit? you know the one where survivors can literaly get to the hay and magically walk up to the window area from there and the killer cant? I guess u were never infinite looped on it before...
to me that seems way worse of an exploit than watching a stairwell, which im not sure how the killer did since I can never switch to the baby when that close to the hook

Nah, it definitely is worse.
If a killer is blocked in a corner by 3 survivors, no matter what is happening (barring glitches, but that's beside the point), the killer has the option to hit/down the survivors. It doesn't hold the game hostage and killer still can do SOMETHING about it, even if they end up dropping the survivor (there is literally a perk for these situations, btw)
Whereas with the situation OP outlined, there is literally NOTHING a survivor can do about it if a killer chooses to do it. If the last survivor or group of survivors got trapped in the basement by this tactic, it 100% would be reportable for good reason. This definitely will end up getting addressed in the future, IMO.

Bro what? The killer can escape being trapped. The survivor doesn't have the ability to get out no matter how much they try. In what world is your killer scenario worse than the survivor one?

I can walk up there as killer, kinda sounds like a you problem ngl. Also if you're chasing properly they can only get one good one way loop out of a harvester unless you're mind gaming yourself like a plonker.
And yes if it were a problem that would be a major exploit but funnily enough it's not.
Idk why you're so set on justifying body blocking basement to me, sounds like your trying to justify your own scummy behaviour to yourself ngl, you're clearly the type that would do this shamelessly

Actually survivors can glitch back up but killer can't, had it happen only a few times luckily but still...
And I never camp so no I'm not saying it's a good thing I'm just saying there's worse things.
Just escape to punish the killer if u don't ur only justifying his behaviour... He gets 1 but loses the game, 3 of u can easily escape, he gets almost no bloodpoints and he depips
edit: answer to previous comments; have u never been stuck in legion frenzy mode where u couldn't down survivors no matter what? Or Myers t3 mode but couldn't attack? Or wraith in cloak mode and uncloaking kept constantly resetting? Those r much worse problems than camping 1 person... If he camped he was most likely to die on hook anyway,at least with this 3 survivors get an easy escape if they're not too thicc
