Flashlight blinds - out of FOV

I've noticed with more regularity since this last patch.. how frequently I am getting blinded by what I can only surmise as ghosts, because literally no one else is on my screen. I'm looking at a wall, and I get blinded. What? Survivors at a 90 degree angle from my face should not be blinding me, period. I can't see them, how is that fair?

Get it out of the game please. If I were able to hit survivors THROUGH walls, it'd be hotfixed immediately. This should not be a thing either.

I've never seen so many flashlights in my lobbies, before. I'm not amused. When I see 2+, I bring the Doctor, I keep them in Madness tier 3 as much as possible, and I often slug everyone until all four are on the ground before I start hooking.

The devs fixed the weird, very situational flashlight bug with Legion, but this is still a thing? No, that's not okay.

Yeah, this has always bugged me. Killer's field of view is 87°, but the flashlight blind angle appears to be something between 135° to 180°.

How is that fair? Its like getting blinded by the sun in real life without even looking at it.

I mentioned this in a previous post. Flashlights are everywhere. Someone said that the animation of being blinded is still the same but even so. If the animation is off and its causing problems then it needs to be fixed.

Before this last midchapter, id see a flashlight ecery game or 2. Now im loading into lobbies with 3 of them. If there wasn't something going on then the number of flashlights wouldn't have spiked like this. Wasn't this bad when there were challenges to blind.

@peanits think you can give us a heads up on whats going on here?

It's a killer bug that isn't extremely detrimental to both sides and slightly benefits survivors, so expect it to be fixed in two years at the very least.

Yep this happened to me yesterday, down a dude on the stairs in temple of purgation(or however you spell it) and was facing the wall and got blinded while picking up the person didnt see the person at all, still won cause they were sand bags but was very annoying match with many flashlights

It's not detrimental to survivors, it benefits them, which is what Spooky13 is saying. I think you misread his comment a bit.

had a match today with 3 flashlights.. so i had to put on Lightborn

they still tried to blind from the side though, i saw the beam come from another realm

i guess this is a known thing beyond this thread

Yup, I've been seeing flashlights a lot. It's gotten to where if I see even one flashlight in the lobby, I bring Doctor and I slug. Flashlights don't leave.

They did nerf it, survivors complained, they changed it back while on their knees pleading for forgiveness.

    PLEASE BUY COSMETICS!

    WE ARE SORRY!

I had a game with just one flashlight and he kept blinding me, 8 times at least. I kept thinking that it would run out soon. It NEVER did. I got a 4K at the end and he said GG to me afterward and we had a short friendly conversation. He said he only had a yellow flashlight with a yellow battery. I didn’t begrudge him because I have to admire someone that can play that well, but still, no way should a single flashlight give a person nearly unlimited godlike ability to take a killer down. Repeatedly. It’s ridiculous.

I mean I had a Bill one game blinding me by shining a light at the back of my head one game one day so I'm pretty well on the "flashlights are broke" wagon. This happened about 3 weeks ago?

I have noticed the angles are a bit messed up though which is why I've been dodging flashlight lobbies the past week. Normally I love going against people with flashlights because they're usually useless but I've had some pretty questionable blinds on me lately.

Yeah this bullshit is still happening. I'm honestly on the verge of uninstalling this ######### game if they dont ######### patch it. Literally every time i get a flashlight pulled on me I turn completely around and look up and STILL get blinded in a half second flat.

Just got a down right next to a crane on autohaven. I'm looking INSIDE the damn crane (underneath where you can walk, all black on the screen) and I still get flashlight stunned.

But I think we are doing a pretty good job so far.

just a reminder this is still a thing. My face was practically inside the wall and I got blinded through my ######### ears when no one was in my FOV.. get this ######### out of the game

Killer detrimental bugs don't get fixed apparently. I got blinded twice out of view yesterday in the same game and I was facing a truck. Do survivors have a full 180 angle to blind from or something? Beyond annoying.

Lol I think youre just exaggerating your experience but its funny...

your post reminded me of when Shadowborn made it so it was easier to get flashlight blinds against you

I had an amazingly fun 15+ (I think it was 20+ honestly) minute trial vs red rank SWFs with 5000+ hours, all meta perks and three flashlights vs my 250 hours as a lvl 12 Huntress.

So disappointed trial happened while I wasn't streaming. :(

There was not one instance where they blinded me and were also in my FOV.

I knew going into the match I'd need to use walls/objects and when able I was still blinded almost every time even with several successful feints and ploys to get them out of position to injure/down potential saviours. I was genuinely surprised every successful blind in these instances.

Several aspects here truly need a look by the devs.

Idea: Blind only the side the survivor is on if the angle is small enough such that it makes sense. Make them risk getting into a legit position to blind both eyes.

Could take it a step further..have to blind the carry side for the stun, otherwise blinding weapon hand prevents M1.

I'd still do that again in a heartbeat if I could, was such a fun and tense match! :)

Seems like there needs to be another dev vs koreans match like at the time when instablinds where a thing.

Just for the people that still haven't seen it.

To add up to this nonsense, different killers have different maximum angles for fl beam to connect.

Just in case - keep in mind that whatever killer you are playing, m&a and shadowborn affect max possible blinding angle.
