Facecamping Bubba with noed
isn't this the saddest thing ever? even after bubba rework, his chainsaw still allows him to facecamp. using noed even makes it sadder and shows how much desperate you are to facecamp someone with an one-shot killer.

Don't tell me a Bubba got a 4k because survivors couldn't leave someone behind.

2021 and people still lose to facecampers ?

I recently started playing my Claudette to get her perks on my bloodweb and also try to main her. Least to say, my first interaction with my Claudette was a face camping noted Bubba. Thankfully, I was never downed but he QUITE LITERALLY stared at my teammates for hours on end until the Quit on the hook, that being they just sushicided. I ended up escaping via the exit gates and rightfully so.
Bubba needs a rework with his chain saw and I propose that we remove the "Lol, no." Chain-saw tactic. Meaning, whenever he uses Hus chainsaw, he doesn't instantly down people, instead they either get the ddeep wound status or the injuries status. I also propose we nerf his speed whenever he's using the chainsaw so Bloodlust+ any add on makes it easier to close distance and down them again.
Or the simplest option could be to remove noed completely or implement a design that literally makes the killer go away. Like the entity won't show up if your terror radius is near them; same thing for stealth killers and insidious won't bypass it either. Or another idea is that it literally gives takes away their bloodpoints for camping thus inciting the idea that camping = no rank, no blood points or no sacrifice.

Otz did a whole livestream on this and averaged a 3 to 4k.

Actually, if Bubba catches a survivor early enough in the game before you have too much progression on gens, the two minutes a survivor sits on the hook while Bubba face camps isn't enough to find and finish all the gens and totems before he can be on the move again.
Even if all the survivors somehow know that Bubba is facecamping (kindred or comms) and don't waste a single second trying to save, you still only have 2 minutes for 3 survivors to find and complete each gen, find and cleanse each totem, and then open an exit gate. The only way you can do that is by playing completely and totally optimally which is NOT happening in 99% of games.
It isn't totally impossible to counter, and I've beaten it a time or two with a half decent SWF (only with REALLY good and clutch hook saves so that nobody got camped to death) but I really don't blame solo queue survivors or mid level players for complaining about it. Bubba is a noob stomper and he really shines in the low level and even mid level solo queue games, in my opinion.

You know every time I see a post about losing 3 or 4 people to a face camping bubba I imagine that gico commercial where they are trying to escape from a killer and they decided to hide behind the chain saws that is what I imagine they are thinking when they try to push a face camping bubba

So you're saying Bubba should be Legion WITHOUT the speed increase?
1 -
Not surprising. Only takes one teammate with awful game sense to throw, and a lot of players fall into that category.

Guaranteed 2k vs mediocre survivors and black/depip IF he manages to catch first survivor before first 2 gens pop. Don't go down early and do gens before friends and you've completely obliterated him.
Unfortunately, even if all 3 survivors directly see him facecamping, they'll just crouch behind nearest tree waiting for him to leave. Then they all die and complain when they should have been doing gens.
I admit, it's very frustrating to play againt but any killer can easily hard tunnel 1 person out of the game IF they are willing to completely trow the match for that 1 kill. Then NOED delivers for another person so that's a perk issue. Can't stop people who are want to remove someone fast, you can only outloop them since there isn't any way to fix this kind of tunneling.

OP talked about NOED. My assumption is this was end game. Even so, gens do not start at zero once the survivor is hooked. Unless survivors were messing around, three gens could be well on their way to being completed before the 2nd phase.

Whatever you see it as, we could always just remove noed as a whole or add the second part of my idea

TBH in time otz usually streams survivors are really bad. Like awfully bad

With that bubba nerf I propose a gen speed reduction of 200%

Bad matchmaking in this game forces a killer to turn bad. If the player can't get a kill unless face camping then why is the game putting that killer in that lobby with those skilled survivors?
1 -
It's very desperate but unfortunately people can play how they want, even if they feel like they need to ruin other peoples fun.
Just do the gens & get out of there as soon as you can. You cannot save your teammates, even with Borrowed Time. The killer will most likely de-pip as well, if that makes you feel any better.

Yeah I observed that as well. If I play in the morning I face literal tournament teams (I versed UBK multiple times). If I play at night however I see more default skin survivors who rarely do any gens, just run out in the open instead of looping, give up on hook etc.

Yes, I was goofing around yesterday with insidious bubba NOED and I got 4k 6 times in a row, against red rank survivors. To be fair they killed themselves on the hook the moment I got undetectable, but still

Let's not make unnecessary changes to a killer that doesn't need them.
How close are you talking about? Most Killers have a terror radius of 24-32 meters (combined with distressing which increases their terror radius).
Also what about smaller/indoor maps? If these changes were a thing Killers would be penalized for not even camping.

Most of the Bubbas I see playing this strategy pull it off from the get-go, not at the end. Their idea is that gen defense doesn't matter because NOED will more than likely proc at the end, giving them an easier time getting extra kills they might not have gotten from otherwise playing normally.
A build with Corrupt+NOED+Bitter Murmur+[insert another perk, maybe Infectious Fright, Knockout, Blood Warden, or even Insidious] actually almost makes this viable.
Unless Bubba has a bad beginning, he can very easily catch and hook a survivor before gens have progressed too much, especially when you consider that a decent amount of survivors don't immediately jump on gens until they have an idea of who/where the killer is. Like I said, this can be countered by a decent SWF feeding information to each other and playing very smartly, and sometimes 4 skilled solos, but even then they have to play optimally and the first survivor cannot be downed within 30s of the first gens being worked on, because the survivor is only on the hook for 120s max. Also, survivors have to spend no time attempting to save the camped survivor, or else they're wasting even more time that could be spent on gens and totems.
Let's say Bubba gets his first hook one minute into the game (fairly realistic at most ranks). If ALL three of the survivors are somehow 60s in to working on different gens (unlikely, tbh, but for the sake of this example...), then you have 20s+80s+whatever time it takes to open the gate. And that is not factoring in the time it takes to find and walk to those gens, totems, and exit gates. Let's face it- it is extremely unlikely that 3 survivors can do all that within even 3 or 4 minutes, and literally impossible within 2 minutes unless one gen is already done.
Basically, how I see it, Bubba is guaranteed one kill, and the second survivor he chases has to be good enough at looping to keep him busy long enough for the last two survivors to do everything else (finish gens and stop NOED from activating [otherwise Bubba has incentive to leave the hook without worry that he will have anything less than 2 kills, if not more])
Long winded post aside (sorry!), I don't think this strategy is that big of a problem. But I totally understand why it is utterly and completely salt inducing for the players who lose to this braindead strat hahaha

Orrr, Bubba's could stop camping the hook with noed and expecting a 4k. Never happening. This is a well deserved change. If your gonna face camp hook cause your a walking one shot, i'm gonna propose an idea that's going to MAKE you try. Either we remove noed and force killers to not play a crutch perk or we rework his one shot move that only takes a tap of a button to use.
There's no git gud option if no one can save or you take you off the hook. It's detrimental to everyone because the killer learns its horrible strat buts keeps doing it and the survivors are forced to take an L because the bubba couldnt stand to chase people like any other decent killer.
Dont dwell in the basement with insidious, dont face camp, dont use noed and, dont spam the chainsaw; easy, right?

Don't use two perks that work as intended, don't use a strategy you don't like to get a kill, don't use your own killer power. Are you hearing yourself? (for the record, Insidious is a cheap perk and I would totally DC against a bubba that insidious camps.)
Get better at looping. I'm only 150 hrs into the game and a great looper is the HARDEST thing for me to go against. They don't need to be nerfed, I need to get better.

Thank you everyone for your answers, but i think you missed the whole point of my post.
yeah, nothing u can do against facecamping rather than complete gens and get the hell out of there, but why using a crutch perk like NOED on an one-shot killer? i mean, his chainsaw basically kills you already in one hit, what's the advantage on using such a noob perk to a strong killer?
0 -
Good job bubba, use those advantages
0 -
I mean if all the gens are done then he's just securing a kill. Why wouldn't he camp a lot of killers would in that situation.
0 -
it's better done with wraith probably for the noed/blood warden combo so you can pretend you're afk the whole game and then drop a big loaf in their cheerios
0 -
The lead game designer said it was a cool playstyle pretty recently so...

You guys care too much, this is no different from an afk wraith or what have you.
There is no gameplay, there is no match, it's a non game.
Run up, get yourself killed ASAP and move on.
Don't waste your time!

No, the idea (and reality) is that most surviors dont do gens and try to rescue anyway.
