this is a message to everyone about the fact the devs are trying something new with us (OoO concept)

BE OPEN

BE RESPECTFUL

BE CONSTRUCTIVE

they open themselves up to us to be part of changes into the game and give our ideas and opinion in future changes into the game, if we ######### this up, it's not gonna happen anytime soon or again at all

if you truly care for the game and want our opinion to be heard even more and be part of the future of the game and projects of it, be constructive and respectful, they open a window right now, react properly to this

This is a great direction for such an infuriating perk. Risky yet fun to use and not miserable to face.

As opaque as the developers tend to be around making changes to frustrating or overpowered mechanics, I really appreciate the gesture with this proposed Object of Obsession change.

My knee-jerk feedback is that unless the killer is using BBQ or Nurse's Calling, this is functionally just gonna be a worse version of Alert. And with BBQ, you already know where the killer is -- they're at the hook. I think this is an improvement over what OoO does now, but I don't think it serves much purpose as described in this proposal (although it's not like the redesign has to be some uber meta perk or anything like that, either...).

New OoO seems like it's some good shiz!

same! Though I hate OoO, it's hard to actually look at this and say it's good, but for what it gives you I don't know what conditions would be fair. I guess they could just throw in the token system that the newer perks have, something like

Do X to gain a token, Press Button to activate it for Y seconds. The killer can see you while the ability is active.

I like this approach and I hope the toxic half of the community doesn't $#@% it up.

I feel like there's a lot more perks that are useful for this new OoO user. If the killer is running any aura reading perks or add-ons you'll know about it. I'm all ears, Nurse's, BBQ, Hex Undying or Retribution, Bitter Murmur, Lightborn (this one is niche), Blood Warden, Hangman's trick (lmao), possibly deerstalker (I guess it would work heh?) and many add-ons.

I would equip this new object for sure. It seems like a lot of fun, especially for I'm all ears in chases imo.

EDIT: For BBQ yeah the killer is at the hook, but where are they going? It's like running Kindred with more usage, kind of.

I'll say this much: It's definitely a step in the right direction.

  • It's such a good move.

True, but a lot of those perks either don't get used much (Bitter Murmur) or are really niche in ways that will have limited use (Blood Warden). I have to imagine Deerstalker would cause problems because that would be a radically OP thing for SWF players vs. a slugging killer. Nurse and BBQ are still the big consistent perks that this would function around, that you would intentionally use OoO to counter.
