When do you think we can expect the next chapter teaser?
I have a feeling it might be next week because if you look at the calendar, here's what i see
Next week will be the second week of a four week month. We usually get the teaser, then the reveal the next week after along with the PTB, then two weeks of PTB, and then the release the week after those.
This would mean a teaser next week
the PTB the week after
two more weeks of PTB
then releasing around the 9th of March, or the 11th depending on the Tuesday VS Thursday thing.
What do you guys think? What would you like the next chapter to be? If Licensed, my hopes are Resident Evil. If Original, i don't know, i heard them wondering if a Pirate killer would be put in, seems like a fun idea

Nah currently u can't predict when the next chapter teaser released since this chapter to mid chapter takes 10 weeks (6 weeks from new chapter to PTB, and 4 weeks during PTB) not 6 weeks as usual (3 weeks from new chapter to PTB and 3 weeks during PTB).
Let's assume the next teaser released between Feb 23 - Mar 2.

If the chapter turns out to be licensed we won't get a teaser. Since we have 2 original chapters this year and only 1 license it's a real possibility of a license.

I expect the license chapter to be on their anniversary of dbd.

True but the anniversary is considered the first chapter of the next year so that doesn't mean that this chapter can't be licensed. Like Pyramid Head is considered Year 5 but is the 4th anniversary chapter. Ghost Face was Year 4 but was the 3rd anniversary chapter. Although this year because of all the graphical updates they're trying to push I wouldn't be surprised if they're like "Ya know what? 3 original chapters and 1 licensed chapter"

What? Only 1 licensed? Where did they say this? As far as I remember they said they want 2 originals and 2 licensed chapters a year.
Ofc they can’t necessarily hold on to this if they have other things to do, but still. Haven’t heard about only 1 licensed chapter this year.

Can't really hold any of the old schedule as gospel anymore, they added a week after the ptb for the mid chapter patch for what we all assumed was ui improvements and they just came out and said nope they aren't improving the ui. As much as I hate to quote him, Scott jund had a good video someone posted where he just accuses bhvr of being lazy. I 100% agree and won't be spending money on this game while it remains as such. Work for your check.

I meant so far this year they've released 2 originals and 1 licensed. Also they said they aim for 2 and 2 but no more than 2 licenses.

Just because they are aiming at something, doesn't mean, that it's possible. Especially with licences. It could be anything.

Honestly, predicting teaser is quite impossible. BHVR isn't really consistent with it. It's always different etc. But next week is quite unlikely. We already have a new tome, MidChapter release and lunar new Year going on. From a marketing perspective that would be too much. Makes more sense to wait for later much closer to the next-Chapter-PTB to release a teaser.

Why? I'm not sure if you're aware of this but anything is possible until something is confirmed. So yes it is possible for the chapter to be licensed don't act like it's 100% confirmed to be original because there are zero hints towards that (also zero hints towards it being licensed). The only "hint" people have towards it being original is the graphical update and the devs probably wanting the anniversary chapter to be licensed. There are 2 things wrong with that.
A. They can graphically update 1 realm and still release a full chapter with a new map, killer, and survivor (they did say the next time we'll see a new map would be "soon trademark" in the December Q&A or at least I believe it was December)
B. The Fifth Year Anniversary is the first chapter of Year 6 so that doesn't count towards how many licenses are in Year 5 they're completely different years.
Also, all I was saying is because we didn't get 2 licenses means that it can still be either a license or an original and the last few licenses we've had didn't come with teasers so if it were to be licensed we would not see a teaser for it most likely.
Show me where I exactly said it was going to be licensed. I'll [bad word] wait.

Read a few more comments down where I said "the last few licenses we've had didn't come with teasers so if it were to be licensed we would not see a teaser most likely." The last time we saw a teaser for a licensed chapter was for SAW and that teaser would have dropped late December 2017/early January 2018. So it's been about 3 years since we've seen a licensed teaser (and Freddy was even longer ago).

With "Just because they are aiming at something, doesn't mean, that it's possible" I meant possible in the sense to get what they are aiming for. Especially with licences. We are actually on the same page. It could be either. I just wouldn't put too much word into the dev quote.
About teasers for licenced IPs. Take a look at the recent killer. Twins. We got a teaser trailer shortly before the ptb, a reveal trail at ptb start and a final trailer for the chapter release. The reveal Trailer is a quite new approach. With Blight there was only a teaser before ptb and a final one at release. With some other killers like Oni e.g. we had a teaser before ptb and a finale one at ptb.
It's true that we tend to get only hints for licenced chapter before the reveal. Stranger things was heavily hinted by Netflix's social media team and devs hinted at PH with the 4. On the other their specifc final trailer are released much earlier than original chapters. Mostly because of the PTB. So asking/wondering about a teaser trailer timing might still matter for a licence chapter. Because the PTB forces them to reveal the licence with it's release basicly. But looking at the recent case of Twins e.g. their teaser/reveal behaviour can still change in some way. It just might depend, what the licence holder thinks/allows and how BHVR wants approach it in the end.

Seems a bit too close to the chapter release date, don't you think? I can't see the PTB and the release happening on the same month

I think that at the end of this month or at the beginning of March we would have a teaser 19 something like that, but I hope it is an official trailer because that can mean a license chapter.

If it's licensed then we're likely not going to be getting a teaser, however they have done teasers for pig, leatherface and freddy (and michael) so you never know.
As for originals, teasers are usually released a week or two before the PTB launch.

I’m saying that cause on feb 9th the update comes out then after 2 weeks of hotfixes we get a teaser so probably around end of February and beginning of March

I'm not saying they haven't gotten some level of teasers for licenses, I'm just saying that we weren't getting the regular ol' video teasers that we're used to for originals. Like I said, that last time we got a video teaser for a licensed killer was the SAW chapter that released at the very beginning of 2018 so the teaser would have dropped in 2017 or 2018. Also, that makes more sense for the quote I pulled out.
