To killers: Would using the new OoO be toxic?

Member Posts: 2,270

Something that has always held me back from using OoO is how toxic it can be and how annoying it can be for killers. If the proposed version were to go live would killers still think it would be toxic to use OoO? To me it almost seems like a better version of alert.

I'm sure someone out there will say it's toxic. There's always one. I feel it will be fine. Once every 30 secs seems fair.

Nope, the new one is actually balanced (on paper), it acts as a warning now. You don't get free info and then just deny the killer it by looking away, now the killer has to trigger it (and so many killers use aura tracking) turning those perks into a 2 way street.

The old OOO isnt toxic unless you abuse it in SWF. There are ways to use OOO in solo Q that are pretty benign for the killer.

The new OOO to be honest is pretty bad. The lack of control on your end as the survivor makes it a junk perk to be honest. In fact you are giving the killer and your teammates control.

It's the killer who'll be activating aura perks to detect you. And your teammates will be the ones to take Obsession off of you.

I personally think the new version is trash.

I rather wait for the Distortion buff instead of using this if I just want to Scout the killer's perks.

I'm fine with it I only have 1 concern if the killer has nurses and the surivor has self care and ooo could they use that to get free wall hacks mid chase if they lose the killer?

No. Neither is using the current version of it.

    Maybe...no! New OoO is fine.

Why has that always prevented you from running the perk? Just use it if you like using object, who cares what anyone thinks about it?

I don't think so. New OoO is fine.

Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the fact that so many survivors out there trying to use Object won’t be running around the realms awkwardly staring at edges of the map for 80% of their match...

    No, because it's balanced now.

The proposed version looks as though I won't need to eliminate its user immediately, more fun for everyone.

What make the current OoO so annoying is how unrestricted it is, how badly it screw some killers and the general lack of a real downside. And then the general SWF issue.

The proposed OoO rework is completly fair. The perk still provide very usefull informations, allowing you to deduce what detection perks or add-ons the killer is using, and you still get a freebie if you are the obsession but you are no longer in full control of the perk and it no longer act as super spine chill against stealth killers.

I think it will be pretty good against nurses calling

I feel the changes to Object is good but now I feel that Sole Survivor needs a touch up on what it does because clearly it was meant to be paired with Object and in my view isn't that great.

Not toxic at all imo. I think this version of OoO is fair, and wouldn't mind it at all from a killer's perspective (I play both).

The problem with old object is that it promotes toxic playstyles and is way to easy to abuse in a swf. In solo que object is meh at best but in SWF it's busted beyond belief. New object seems like a fair information perk if you ask me, honestly I'm very surprised how nice of a rework they proposed for it. +rep for the devs.

Some people will probably say it is toxic. But fact is that even using the current version of OoO is not toxic, using Perks is never toxic.

Some people will probably have PTSD from the old OoO and find it just as toxic.

    Perks are not toxic.

I was thinking this, using OoO against a nurses user would be strong, a lot of cringeslingers use it so it would be very strong keeping eyes on him during chase as he relies on line of sight, wallhacks allow you to easily deny that

    Nah go for it

Nope, it seems like an amazing perk to go against. Good survivor will get a lot of needed info out of the aura reading but a bad one will probably only increase his chance of dying.

I really hope they'll use this version of OoO for it's rework.
