Not everyone should be rank 1

It has never been difficult and probably never will be. When they first came out with the emblem system, it was actually quite difficult to rank up or at least took quite a bit of effort but people complained and now we have a mess of a system favors play time per season instead of skill.

Also, I believe other killers can be in rank 1 as well. Hell even a Freddy. As a trapper player, I’ve been getting non stop 3 and 4k’s at rank 1 without much difficulty.

I have a friend and he is rank 1 survivor every month. He is not good, not good at chases and running straight can not even 360.Ranking up too easy
Sorry to tell you this but 360’ing comes down to the killer and not the survivor for the most part. Ranking up is really easy though

The ranking system pushes people up way too easily and undeservingly. It's on both sides but I'd say it ranks survivors up especially too easy. Lots of rank 1's that shouldn't be.

Rank in this game has nothing to do with skill and never has, it has always been about how long you have played each month.

I would have to actively try not to rank up right now, maybe once I hit the red ranks this will stop but so far I get a pip every single round. If I had no idea how rank worked I would say it's simply based off rounds played and nothing more.

Its very hard to derank and even if you play badly you normally will still easily black pip, they did try to make survivor harder to pip a few months back which caused a problem of killers having really long queue time in the red ranks, a bit like now but once the event goes that should hopefully fix itself again.

Rank is a joke in DBD and I doubt that this will ever change.

First, make the seasons last longer than a month and reward player who are rank 1-5 with an exclusive cosmetic or Iridescent Shards so people actually want to rank up.
Next, get rid of the "safety pip". You either win or lose, rank up or rank down. Easiest solution imo.

In dbd rank isn't a matter of skill, it's a matter of how much you play dbd during one month
Piping is an inevitability
You literaly have to actively try to depip0 -
I agree, but I don't see what killer they're playing has to do with it. If someone can do well with a killer that's not as good and still do well at rank 1, I would say that says more about their skill than someone who relies on nurse.
Removing the safety pip would probably be a good start. Make it easier to derank if you do poorly. Currently you have to do really poorly to actually derank, meaning you'll just naturally rank up on average (de-pipping is significantly harder than safety-pipping and pipping combined).

I also think the devs need to look at why some survivors and even some of the top streamers/fog whispers with a few thousand hours no longer feel like they want to play in the red ranks, by making it too hard and if they did remove the safety pip it will be easier for people to stay at a certain rank by choice with less players ranking up, maybe the whole idea of ranking up itself needs to be looked at as most posts regarding it now state it means nothing but an achievement and once done there is no point going there anymore.

Thats simply wrong.
in ANY other competitive game, the lower ranks represent tha majority of all players and only a very small percentage makes it EVER into the highest ranks.
Of course the result are higher queue times on high rank, but that has always been part of playing a game competitively. And yes, facing the same players over and over is part of that too. However, that wouldnt affect any of us probably since most of us are casual players actually and I doubt that anyone here could compete on a competent lvl (at least I couldnt tbh)
And of course we need rewards for ranking up, otherwise the whole system doesnt make sense.

Simple fix
Get rid of rank altogether and stop pretending that the game is a competitive game when it isn't balanced like one
If they trully wanted the game to be competitive
-they wouldn't allow the meta to stall
-they wouldn't say that not all killer are made for high rank play
-you would actually be rewarded for ranking upJust assume that the game is a casual grind fest game, get ride of rank, add more game mode because doing the generator repairing simulator is getting dull

Yea I wish the ranking system was much harder to level up in. As long as you know the basic mechanics of killer and survivor, you absolutely can not avoid rank 1 as killer. Even in matches where I play like garbage, I'll still black pip.

But to take your example in those competative games you speak off they separate the user base, the ranking system is such that you will not have the same that happens here, someone with full perks and 2k hours against someone with 50 hours and lvl 2 perks, unless someone takes a long break from the game, they also dont reset ranks like DBD.
I didn't say they shouldn't reward people but the ranking system as it is just is not working right now, in other games you need a degree of skill where as in DBD you playa lot and you will hit rank 1.
How they sort it who knows but they tried to help new players by creating the rank 20-16 zone and killers have long queues, hit rank 5 and below longer queues, right now waiting 10-30 minutes on a match shows something is wrong and with it being so easy to rank up why is that?
I would also bet if killers saw the same pool of players they would try to derank, could you imagine playing the same flashlight troll over and over, talk about torture.

Is this has to do with the entire ranking system, it's way too easy achieve rank, and the Hallows Blight has only made it much easier for killers to climb the rank tree so to speak. I also agree with the SWF part, not that many who're rank 1 survivors are really skilled enough to hold that rank as a solo survivor. As I've said before, the game needs more game modes, and it needs to account for SWF in the ranking system as well. Furthermore, as rank is global / shared between ones killers and survivors, you will not be always be playing the one where you're actually that rank.
