Using SAM - is it bannable?
For those of you who don't know, SAM stands for Steam Achievement Manager, which you can use to unlock or lock back achievements.
Now hear me out before immediately downvote. I just hit killer rank 2, excited to finally be able to get to rank 1 but I just remembered that I have it unlocked already on Jan 24, 2020, along with my killer rank 10 and 5 achievements. Now if you were around at that time, you probably remember that there was a bug in that patch that you'll get these ranked achievements as soon as you logged in, which was exactly my case.
Since I didn't get it legit, I wanted to remove the achievements and now obtain them myself. Also to just enjoy the moment when it pops out. My question is, is removing an achievement using SAM bannable just as unlocking them with it?

Can a dev or a mod give me a certain answer please? ._,

No need for a dev or mod, I can confirm that it is. Even if not against BHVR's TOS it does violate Steam's TOS and will more than likely result in a VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) ban, which not even Steam support have the power to remove. Don't risk it.

I can see it being bannable but it Also doesn't affect game play so I can see it not being not

That's what I thought but just like GoodBoyKaru said I'm scared it'll automatically trigger an EAC/ VAC ban

So dont do it

It's banable. People have been banned for it regardless of whatever reason they said they did it. If you get caught your appeals will be ignored.

That's exactly what happened to a buddy of mine anyway so, yeah, don't risk it.

People have distributed things they've claimed were harmless mods for certain games that had something in them to deliberately trigger vac and get people banned, I think the main game that was done in was counterstrike. Don't ask me why they enjoy doing that to people, you'd have to ask them. It's just a couple of achievements that don't even really do anything for you it's not like you have a gamerscore to worry about lol, not worth it to me.
I know about sama nd am not claiming it does that, I don't even think it's been updated in about ten years anyways, just why use unnecessary things and run unnecessary risks. Who knows how vac works these days, unless it's somebody that's kept upw ith vac games, I haven't played one in ages since I didn't play dying light online. I did finally play l4d2 again to check out a big update last year, but I never rana ny of the old stuff I used to like mods outside the workshop or hldj. I wonder if back 4 blood will handle mods and if so how well. Knowing my luck it'll probably run eac and tell me to turn off my vpn, or rgb controller or even my wifi driver so I can't even play it for the lulz. As if, I tell myself how to use my pc as I wish and would just click the refund knob. That's why I plan to get it on ps5, console online games sometimes tend to have more player numbers I noticed anyways.
