Game Hostage. Devs, this is a serious issue
Two cloudettes on Ormond realized they suck in the game (and this is true) and decided to hide somewhere on the map. 2 generators remain unfinished and they did not do any work on gens, just hiding somewhere in the bushes.
The match continued for 40 minutes and I knew exactly what are they doing. I decided to be IDLE in the match and read the book on my PC, checking the game every 10 minutes.
Finally, after 40 minutes they got bored and decided to do the gens and escape.
I am glad I've been able to keep such a ... players out of the game for at least 40 minutes.
What else could I do as a killer? Obviously, I could DC, lose my blood points and get DC penalty.
Of course, I have reported them, but I've wasted some time and other people lost such precious killer like me for the 40 minutes.
Devs, please prevent this situation from happening. At least let the killer initiate end game collapse when the match is taking longer than average time. Or find a way to punish those mothers of the dog.
Thank you

In the meantime, Whispers exists. And also, try not to kill the survivors actually doing things if you notice the crappier players not pulling their weight.

Meanwhile, you couldn’t find them for 40 minutes...

People tend to make light of this type of scenario but it absolutely fits the criteria of taking a game hostage and not participating in normal gameplay that progresses the match forward. Not everyone likes whispers or shouldn’t feel the need to run it on the off chance they’ll face players that hide purely out of spite. Some survivors are very good at stealthing without getting crows for prolonged periods of time 40 minutes to even over an hour. Remember that all different ranks and skill levels play this game..
two survivors refusing to move the game forward by working on gens for 40+ minutes are well aware the killer is having difficulty and typically their goal is to force the killer to disconnect. A killer can corner a survivor for 20 minutes straight effectively taking them hostage and even force a disconnect.. sure sounds bannable doesn’t it... how is hiding and refusing to progress the game for 40+ minutes any different?

Because the killer can still find them, it just might actually take effort, and im saying this as a killer player. I dont consider thus a hostage game, i consider it griefing though if they go out of their way to make sure the game doesnt progress on their end

it's not taking the game hostage when you absolutely have the ability to find them.

I had that happen to me on swamp. Two survivors left, they wouldn't touch a single generator. That match lasted 30+ minutes.

It's the job of the killer to seek out survivors and kill them. Playing the game is not their fault.

Some people here probably do not realize how annoying this issue is or have never faced the situation like this.
I'd assume they haven't experienced this before or always run Whispers and Iron Maiden. I don't want to wish them to stuck in this situation, but maybe when this happen to you -- you would get it.
This was a coordinated 3 stack SWF. I did not have Whispers in this match. And they definitely know where to hide. So, would anyone suggest any strategy how to find 2 remaining SWF blendettes on Ormond?
Why 3 stack: here is a screenshot I've took during the match when they were hiding:
Those blendies were on the death hook and they were upset I've killed their friend, so they decided to cowardly make me DC just by hiding and not doing the objective. This situation should not happen.

Or maybe some people here are sure this game -- is actually a hiding simulator. Maybe you are right.

You’re assuming they’re a 3 stack because....they’re on the same platform ???
That situation sucks sure but it’s not taking the game hostage and players shouldn’t be punished for it. Plain and simple.

Saying this takes the game hostage starts a bad precedent. When do we start calling stealth players griefers simply because they're playing a certain way? It might be boring and tedious to look for a longer amount of time than hoped but you had nothing stopping you from looking for them other than your lack of patience, that's the reality.

Because OP literally went AFK for 40 minutes. That's 30 generators that could be completed. They are taking the game hostage by not progressing the objective purposefully. Even then, the killer cannot chase two survivors at the same time so there is one person with pressure and another without. There is NO REASON for people to do this.

I've took this screenshot after 20 minutes of them being IDLE. 2 Cloudlets were in the game hiding. And the third one Meg was observing the match. Notice the ping value. When you see ping value -- it means the "player" is still there. The Meg was there entire time. And yes, they are on same platform. And they played like SWF -- taking hits for each other, but not for the 4th player.

Do you really think hiding for more than 10 minutes and not doing objective is a good game practice?
Please understand, they did a coordinated action, hiding, for 40 minutes to make the killer DC. Is this fair they managed to escape while I was IDLE? Or should I look for them for that forty minutes? Do you personally think hiding and not doing the gens is the main game objective?

Cloudettes.
I'm sorry, I had to.

Yeah... They need to make something to force two last survivors to do gens, or something else. I also experienced this and it was really frustrating, cause survivors were hiding really good and refusing to even come close to gens. I mean, they kinda don't have a choice, because i had a 3 gens very close to each other. Its (Survivor vs Survivor) vs Killer at this point.
Something must be changed. Maybe with Key change we will get a big gameplay update like with EGC. That update changed alot and finaly got rid of hatch standoffs, which technically were a hostage situation.

Same thing happened to me when I was trying to get adept Freddy, I came really close until two survivors hid from for 10- to almost 20 minutes straight, I searched and searched but couldn't find them. Eventually I remained idle and they still didn't touch the gens, forcing me to then DC. and report them

Good to know it's reportable, thanks @Peanits. But how about simply introducing an in-game feature that stops it from happening in the first place? Idle crows should be reworked if survivors haven't touched a generator for 10+ seconds within a three minute time period.
