Killers - Do NOT play Pale Rose

Heads up for all the killers out there, just bug reported it but there’s a huge safe spot for survivors on the boat tiles that turned my seemingly 4K 5 gen game into a 1K game that lasted about 10 ish minutes more than it should have been.

Survivors can loop through the tile with a gap that’s too small for killers and you have to go all the way around a tree. If the survivor uses this, you won’t be able to catch them at all. All the survivors found it and ran to it every single time, made the game impossible unless I caught them elsewhere.

Hopefully there will be a hot fix soon since at least 3 maps are bugged to living hell.

Edit: Fixed the message to make it more coherent

with a gap that’s too big for killers

I assume you meant too small

4 maps in total, just getting better and better...

The swamp has been an absolute hell of fat shaming and barely workable generators for a while now. It's quite amazing that the devs haven't done a ######### thing about them since they bother both sides

If a gen spawns in the smaller boat, one of its sides blocks the killer passage. This bug has been reported already (I did 1 month or more ago I think).

Things like tree spawns are kinda RNG based, meaning while it really sucks that you got fat shamed and this SHOULDNT happen... its unlikely that itll happen repeatly on pale rose, nor that it WONT happen on other maps.

Really? I knew there were huge issues with swamp and generators but I never saw that tree spot before, and it happened pretty consistently when I went to Pale Rose after the update, damn

Mine doesn’t need the gen, but that just goes to show how riddled swamp is with bugs :(

I’d like to think that too but I had it in all the matches I played on Pale Rose today (3 as of my last game), only 2/3 games that the survivors used the spot but I identified it as the same spot. Either terrible luck or a specific tile has this fault when spawning

I think there's a couple of spots. I know of one near Killer shack, where a gen spawns with the sort of walkway beside it. There's a spot there you get blocked from. There's also another at the oppisite side of the map where a wooden boat should be that does the same. Gens are the same as you say, certain spots won't let you work on then despite being clearly accessible.

  • The swamp maps have been busted since the Twins Update and for whatever reason this terrible new UI was more important than fixing those problems.

It's this kind of decision process that makes so many people tilt their heads at bhvr in confusion.

i think I’ll just avoid swamp as a whole from now on then, I can’t say I’ve seen many issues with swamp minus the gens and fat shames between two trees. Time to bring out the Macmillan offerings

Mine did. There has been a lot of fat-shaming spots on the map that affect killers and survivors due to the random spawn of assets. They seemingly fixed a lot of the trapping spots on trees, tho.

Wow, that’s super abusable, I hope Swamp’s getting the redesign next because this seems like a core map issue with tile generation, there’s constant bugs, fatshames and exploitable spots there, I’ve just never seen one like yours or what I played today where it was so exploitable that it turned the whole game around. Let’s hope BHVR get on this ASAP with a hotfix

Of the reworked maps that needed to be changed only one of them was actually in need of a rework. That was the Game map props to the re-designers fro the game map, bar some breakable walls it feels a lot better and actually accommodates more playstyles. People have been asking about going over the coldwind maps, haddonfield which no, saying its a licensing issue is a pathetic excuse if the map is not fit for purpose disable it. Finally midwich which yes recent map but you royally botched the map if it again is a disaster of a map gameplay wise disable it and leave it till its fixed. The fixes aren't even complicated more points of elevation with a stairs in the middle corridor areas for better ease of access (no don't put breakable walls there). With two additional pathways in the middle of courtyard so holding w doe's not become the core gameplay element of this otherwise aesthetically cool looking map.

I think the swamp is a high priority on map reworks. They should fix all of this in a big batch.

Nope, the fat shame spots on the Swamp are consistently there.

Yeah there is always a fat shame on that map, it just randomizes around the map and sometimes it spawns out of the way in a corner worst case by a gen or loop.

I really dislike the Swamp maps as both Killer and Survivor. The amount of times, as either or, I have smacked into the trees what we should fit through but don't, is an embarrassing amount. It's gotten me hit as survivor when I shouldn't have, and hitting that spot as killer also gives the survivor a head start. (You would think I wouldn't trust the gaps between the trees after this, but I guess sometimes I don't use my brain).

As survivor, I have had games on that map where multiple generators have open spots on all 3 sides, but you can only work on one side. Even when I don't want to work on the gen with a teammate, I still like to be able to position myself better to see if the killer is coming.

And the worst of them all is, as everyone has mentioned, the exploits some survivors use on certain parts of the map. If you aren't like Trapper, Deathslinger, and Huntress, you basically can't hurt the survivor unless they make a mistake.

I dread the Swamp maps as both survivor and killer. Too many issuea
