I Hate Playing with or Against Twitch Streamers

Anytime I see that ttv in their name I groan. Either they are going to be toxic as hell, or so selfish that they won’t help out their team at all and only care about if they get out. Just had a match with a twitch streamer ( edited out his name.) who didn’t do anything the entire match and hid while everyone else did work. I did two gens alone myself, constantly hook saved all of them, and healed them. Finally the Killer got me and this twitch streamer was on the other side of the map waiting for me to die so he can escape via hatch. Must be good streaming content bro! Made sure to be on the hook as long as possible so the killer would down the coward. Luckily he did.

that can happen, they're trying to be entertaining to an audience that you as a player aren't part of.

I think putting TTV in your name is a bad idea, all it does is paint a target on your back. I know it's kind of lame but if I choose to play killer and I see TTV in a name they're the first person I go for.

Approximately 10 out of 10 people having "ttv" in their nicknames are irrelevant nonames with an average of 3 viewers. You don't have to pay them so much attention, they are just generic players.

I generally don't enjoy people with TTV in their names.

As killer they often do something to get my attention because they want to show off their looping skills. Most rage quit when they find out I'm not a newb that can easily be bullied. Then there's the ones that get hooked, they get saved and before being healed they come to me. They get downed again, they pop DS, I catch them again and they call me a tunneler. ######### you came to me!

As survivor it's even worse. Most TTVs I've come across don't repair gens. They are more concerned about putting on a show for their 2 viewers than actually doing the objective. I've seen TTVs with a flashlight literally follow the killer while he is chasing someone else in the hopes of getting a flashlight save. It doesn't matter if they pull it off or not. The time they wasted for that save would have been better spent repairing a gen. Each survivor can be hooked 3 times. They can take 1 hook and recover. In the old days if I was solo and I got a TTV in my lobby I left. Most killers brought an ebony when they saw that. Don't have to worry about that anymore.

It's a toss up really. TTV in name doesn't automatically = toxic player. One I recently played against and didn't do very well (3 escapes, 1 kill), I never even encountered the TTV player once during the game. I went and watched their VOD later on to hopefully learn something and they're a totally cool person. We dual streamed for 8.5+ hours last week actually and had a blast, bringing in other streamers throughout the night as well.

In many cases, people put TTV in their name as a form of advertisement, and it very much works. It gets people coming to your stream when they see it, sometimes to stream-snipe, sure, but many times they end up hanging out and following you too. If you get matched against or with other streamers, it can bring those other viewers to your stream and boost your own.

Same here, they're usually extremely nice and compliment me as killer after the match even if I don't type in chat.

Obviously not all twitch streamers are toxic but I would say a good chunk are. They have to put on a show and by that it means just running around the killer and being a dick and not really helping your team.

Well guess I’m unlucky and just getting the crap twitch streamers.

    Here here

Saw my first one last week and during ECG, I pulled the usual stalling tricks and the guy kinda called me out on it, he thought i was farming boldness points lol, but I took the criticism well and now I don't act like a silly sausage during ECG if I'm the last one alive.

As long as they aren't toxic, I usually come by their stream after the match to say hi. It's fun to watch their vods to see how you did from their perspective, too.

In my experience they're usually just normal players that decided to stream honestly.

And hey, I like reviewing my gameplay from a different perspective afterwards. It's like a replay system or manually recording every match, but Twitch does all the work for me 😄. Quite educational and fun to get to see your gameplay from the view of the opponent(s) honestly.

I had good experiences with them, especially as killer. As survivor not so much because I'm the random console player some tend to blame if anything goes wrong.

Won't say I love all of them, but especially smaller streamer I've seen try to be nice in order to get more viewers and to entertain. I usually stay at those lobbies to see other angle of the match.

The only toxic TTVs that I go against that are toxic are always the ones not streaming. I have only had good people streaming when I play with them.

I disagree, I think it's really cool I can face off against streamers so I can see their perspective. Let's me see what I did right, where I can improve, and maybe learn something new to look out for as killer.

Guess I’m in the minority here about not liking twitch streamers. I’ve had a few that were great teammates admittedly though.

    I've had a mix of TTV's

    some were cool

    others were toxic

  • They tend to be fairly toxic. However they usually keep their toxicity on their stream so if you never watch it you will be fine.

Watching a streamer's vod later with you in it or watching them while spectating a match you died in is always depressing.

Just every 10 seconds "What a ######### idiot survivor ######### dumbass". Even the more popular streamers are guilty of this; and then their chat bandwagons on with the streamer (of course they do they are following them) and it's just not fun to see that I dislike the behaviour very much.

Not much to do about human nature though.

As Killer I've been saving TTV names and watching the VoD later... they have a tendency to be either incredibly immersed or incredibly up in my business all the time with very minimal middle ground. I'm not entirely sure why that is but that has been my experience.

One example was we had a.....very popular streamer I won't say who....anyways I have Myoclonus Dystonia and sometimes my hands cramp up in game and it causes me to blow skill checks, or die on a hook struggle, etc, it happens.

Well this happened and then the streamer starts calling me some less than stellar names for killing myself on hook, no attempt at considering any other possibility or waiting to ask post game, chat joins in on it calling me names, and then a couple of them found my steam profile and left some abusive comments.

I mean I just died and went to their stream to say GG and explain what happened and I tried but it got drowned out in the insults and other chat, and all I get was that for it.

After that I made my steam profile private to anyone not on my friends list, it almost made me quit the game.

That’s what I fear. The streamer constantly crapping on me and his viewers agreeing. I don’t think I’m great at the good just ok. But if I hear dozens or more agreeing I’m garbage is disheartening.

Whenever i've had a ttv teammate they usually always die first, they try and impress their audience trying dumb s**t, spinning, juking and the killers like "nope not today mate" bang dead. Now its a 3 v 1.

Or using a flashlight right in front of the killer and getting knocked down lol
