Proof that the devs are actual people
While it may not be much to some, i think this is something that we should look at.
This is proof that they are understanding with stuff. There’s just probably more going on that is potentially stopping them from speaking up.

At the end of the day I wonder if the decision about the new UI was even theirs. A youtuber I watched recently theorized all the graphic updates are so they can sell the game on next gen consoles to please their investors. Who knows. Like you said, it is nice when the devs reach out to us.

Communication should have been better? almost every single player said they hate the new UI, they admitted that on stream and said they're pushing it anyway so the console players get a say even though they seen it and also posted on the forum saying they dont like it.
If they were actual people that make mistakes dont u think they would have adressed this by now on their twitter or the their forum?
But instead silence for the last 2 days! the event is tommorow, the rift came out today and the game is unplayable for longer periods of time

As far as I know, they’re still doing a lot of work from home. This obviously creates challenges in regards to coordination of communication and information.
We need to cut them some slack. There are obviously going to be mistakes made with so many working from home.

Do we count community manager as dev? I don't think she has the ability to affect the changes all that much.
It's also really frustrating when it takes massive backlash to get anything sensible/human from them, tbh.
17 -
Yeah, I don't know why the community lashed out at them so much in terms of insults.
Don't get me wrong, they changed the UI to something completely worse despite it not needing to be changed. I'm not saying what they did was right & the community (including myself) definitely gave our opinion that they done goofed this time.
But the constant insults & name-calling is just uncalled for. They are people just like us & we shouldn't treat them so inhumanly.
2 -
Yeah because all social media is inaccessible to them yet their active everyday on their own official Twitter page

Unplayable?? No. Not even close. I've been playing for a few hours today. Played for several yesterday and I had a hell of a good time. Yes the hitboxes are crappy right now but that doesn't make the game unplayable.
4 -
For many, it really is.

Not queen has always been a shining example honestly.
12 -
Shes part of the Dev team. Don't have to be a Dev to be part of a team. Plus she could have let them know about our disapproval
0 -
She is the reason I feel bad when I generalise the Devs. Her ability to damage control within the seemingly arbitrary parameters set for her is amazing
12 -
And she probably did, but that didn't change anything. Did it? Or else we wouldn't have gotten this patch in this state.
3 -
A lot of people have been reporting motion sickness and/or headaches.
13 -
I'm pretty sure they would listen to her voice over anyone else's since she is the community manager. My guess is she didn't say a damn thing AND SHE ADMITTED IT. Communication could've been better? Maybe it you constantly told them 'hey we're not getting a lot of good feedback maybe we should put this on hold'
2 -
so me including 3 people I know that tried it couldnt play for longer than 1 game due to eye strain and a headache, different times different places so whats the only thing in common? the new HUD... it is NOT playable

I personally applaud not_Queen for her handling of this last live stream. I'm sure a lot of things need to stay on script so to speak for time and to avoid revealing things not public yet. But there were several times that it appeared that she gave examples of why the question was aimed at a specific thing because the programmer and designer missed the point in there answer. She did it in a respectful manner because she has to be professional. But she was actually voicing known concerns rather than just allowing the stream to continue without them understanding problems.
Respect.
Afterthought: My favorite moment was when they were still downplaying the key issue. She says "well I'm not going to lie, I take Franklins". I loved that in that one statement it encompassed how much keys are loathed by killers and why they show little impact on the overall outcome. I hope they picked up on her nuance.
Same for me, I see a key and a map... Time to tunnel with franklins. Nothing worse than having only 1 kill, only 1 gen left, and watch the icons escape while patrolling a 3 gen😫

Okay, so here's something to know:
Not_Queen, insofar as I can tell, is NOT responsible for the changes going on.
That doesn't mean her words and statements mean nothing, but a majority of the devs who come out and speak on the forums or in Discord and such aren't in positions to make changes to game balance and graphics.
At the time of this post, there is an announcement on the forums where one of the Devs say that we've been heard, and while this doesn't mean we should break out the confetti yet, at least we can be sure that they've acknowledged our issues with the UI.

I'm more concerned about Mathieu Cote's attitude towards people than not_queens! Have you seen the way he acts and talks to people! I swear it drips with arrogance.

Not gonna lie - I was curious about her Twitter feed. That was my first mistake.
Why is it that people who work in gaming have this anathema toward keeping their professional lives professional and not using their personal twitters filled with their personal politics for both work and socializing? She's not the only one.
I'm not even that politically different from her, but when your 3rd post down is a retweet directed to "White Allies" instructing them to "do more"... I just throw up a little in my mouth and exit gracefully.

Not_Queen doesn't have much say. She's the lead community manager but she has to listen to what her bosses tell her.
She may personally think this, but it doesn't really mean much over all. Besides Not_Queen is great and she's always been a voice for us, even if she isn't around on the forums much, and I don't think anyone should, or could, blame her for this.

I don't doubt that some of the devs at Bhvr believe the new UI hud wasn't necessary, in fact I heard that some of the Veteran Devs believed Hillbillys' nerf was unnecessary
Edit: I meant to say wasn't LMAO

Most of the devs are absolutely people.
But i'm farily convinced at least a couple in non-insignificant spots are actually robots.
3 -
"White Allies"?
1 -
Don't worry about it.
2 -
The best approach.
1 -
Agreed.

Would an 'understanding' person try and guilt trip another person of their discord server
I don't think so
1 -
Just found this little gem on Twitter
She's literally trying to play the guilt trip game

Saying that the need better communication is half-way right - they need to actually listen to the playerbase.
Better communicating that you're going to give players a s### sandwich does not improve the flavour of the sandwich.
And before they spent months working on the UI (really? So much effort for such a lame result, with many player-provided mockups that would be far better) if they had asked the players and listened to the response they could have saved all that effort.
2 -
They are actual people but this is their actual job. Being less aggressive about hating the changes to spare ~feelings~ would get nothing done.
2 -
Seriously!! They get paid to do this stuff.
3 -
I mean, it's almost fine anyways WHY would they do that? I don't blame any of them on that front.
The UI is almost okay it just has some very large problems that happen to be very easily fixed, such as moving the positions of things or at least giving the option to; and a few visibility tweaks. That's it.
No need to go back to the old UI anyways.
1 -
You're absolutely right, no need to revert it. Just give us some way to customize it. Boom.. Win-win situation

Nice strawman OP.
I don't think anyone ever said the devs weren't people.
1 -
Lol it was this way long before a pandemic lol
1 -
Were you actually laughing out loud through that whole sentence? You seem fun.

The fact that we even need proof that the devs are human is sad.
1 -
All of us are pretty sure it's humans making the game, not monkeys, aliens or devils from hell.
1 -
Well yes, ignoring a whole month of negative feedback is not a simple mistake.
0 -
Yes the Devs are human. But where's your proof the QA team exists?
1 -
Y'know, so many people are saying 'the layout is the problem'. Are they really telling us they cannot change the LAYOUT of the UI? Really?
