It feels disingenuous to say "we hear you loud and clear" after ignoring most PTB Feedback until now
So the forum has been updated with a message stating the devs have heard loud and clear the overwhelmingly negative feedback from the community. Now it's certainly good they are letting us know that are working on it. That sort of communication has been missing for a long time now.
However I wanted to express my feeling that saying they're listening feels disingenuous at this stage. It feels less like "we're listening" and more like "it'd look really bad if we ignored this much negative feedback". The UI was on the PTB for a long amount of time in which the exact same negative feedback was given, it just wasn't as overwhelming because it wasn't on live and people believed things were subject to change. However the devs didn't take any of this into account. They did something like this with hillbilly before. Implemented a change nobody had been asking for and the vast majority disliked, ignored majority of feedback from the ptb, then only changed it after an amount of criticism so expansive it couldn't be ignored.
"We hear you loud and clear" at this point of what has happened feels almost like a sort of admission that they weren't listening before. I just don't understand the system of feedback. It feels like the only way for them to ever listen is for everyone to shout until something happens. We try and try and try to provide constructive and in depth feedback over changes but none of it ever seems to matter. The only time something gets changed is when it would make them look bad for not changing it. I don't know if this post was a vent or a rant or me asking the devs to listen to us more in the future.
I'm not a game developer, I have some experience in menu programming and that is all. I don't intend to tell BHVR how to do their jobs but I can't imagine a cycle of 1 step forwards 2 steps back with both the game and the community will promote the longevity of this game. There's so much potential but it just gets squandered by stuff like this. Listen to us, listen to the community at least a little bit. And if you decide not to, I'd prefer you just drop the whole façade. What's the point of a PTB if nothing we say about it gets changed, what's the point of feedback forums if they're ignored until reputation is at stake. Alrighty, rant over.
Take care all.

I completely agree, they should listen to there community more

Those words are just pretty words that aims at cooling down the community.
I sincerely doubt they're gonna come out with solutions in near future. After all they did say those changes are not going back.

My bet would be it has to do something with the amount of "Rift Passes" that was bought. They only listen when it involves money

Actually
My little screenshot our beautiful Not_Queen would love to disagree with you there

I really feel the PTB should have been longer and things should have been workshopped before being released to live.

I'm fine with ui and animations if they fix the god damn hitboxes

Trying to be fair to all parties involved here. They had ptb feedback, but that’s pc only. Now they have console feedback as well. Community-wide —-> loud and clear.

I assume it's just damage control. Her previous statement really fires up the community.

3–4 days is what they had to make changes.
1 -
So in a month they only worked for 3-4 days got it.

No way the people who play on TV's ALSO don't like their UI being spread to 4 corners? Who woulda thunk it.

If you actually read what was said she said "We can go back." followed with "But that won't happen." Thank you for proving Omega's point?

Well they have lied to us before many times so yeah take it with a grain of salt.

This is just a case of “wag the dog.” They don’t care one bit about our feedback. They had the exact same feedback during and after the ptb. They ignored that feedback like they always do and like they will do again.
I don’t have the numbers so this is purely conjecture, but I’d imagine rift/cosmetic sales plunged. Combine that with how much of a pile of manure the hit boxes are, they are scared to lose players.
this has absolutely nothing to do with their desire to all of a sudden care about player feedback. It’s pure self preservation for folks whose collars may be getting a bit warm because they have provided zero quality control at that company.

It seems when they were told how many tickets were bought in the Rift they started thinking lol

Pretty much.

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of the UI either, but I think they were very fair and reasonable by saying they wanted to launch it anyway, let people try it for a few weeks, and then collect feedback once we had had a chance to adjust. Even if you hate the new UI, I don't understand being so impatient that you can't try it for a little while and see how it feels.

this is the reason why they had to change their mind.

It's ridiculous for them to say they won't re think changes because it was months of work, the amount of the work does not reflect on the quality of the product. It is clear by now that the community dislikes the current UI. While I think it's not realistic to roll back to the old UI, I think they have to rework the position of the different information spread out, it is really unbearable atm.
They also need to have a look at the way the players are pictures as well as the health bars, it needs to be easier to "read" in the fast-paced game like dbd.
On a last note the movement of survivors are absolutely handicapped, probably has to do with the animations. It was embarrassing to stream survivor last night, I'm not that good at the game but after this patch it feels like I'm way worse then I was pre patch. I will try to play killer instead tonight.

I've been a member of the game not so long ago since December. Recently I'm guessing the way they like to communicate with their community.
They seem to be a team who like to "surprise" with news but only on the date they planned to do so.
For months the community kept talking about colorblind option.
And just a few days ago they decided to post and announce that they have heard it all and they are working on it.
I get the feeling that they like to publish news when they feel it is right to do so.
And decide on new features despite what the community says, perhaps only because of future plans that only the team know about.
What I like the most is when games make contact or even just show that they are active on social media.
We don't know who is responsible for publishing news. They do need to change that for better communication.

Just puts into perspective when she said it took them months to make the UI. So, they do 3-4 days of 'actual' work in a month (example ptb to release) times how many months? So how many 'actual' days on the UI? And they come up with that end result.
I swear you can't make this ######### up. Hilarious.

This is very much a case of damage control. I feel they hoped the console players would be more behind this UI and Animation change so they could use that to try and quiet the PTBers. But that obviously didn't happen as people are still people and these changes are #########.

Basically the PTB is essentially just for us to find bugs and nothing else.
