All you need to know about Red Glyphs
Red Glyphs are interactable objects that are available to collect as both survivor and killer. In order to spawn a Red Glyph into a trial, you must have a Glyph Challenge active in The Archives. When in a trial with the challenge active, one Red Glyph will appear in a random location and stay there until you collect them. They are invisible from far away, but become visible to you when you get within a certain proximity of them:
To collect a Red Glyph, move up to one and hold your interaction button. After a few seconds, the Red Glyph will disappear and you'll make progress towards the Glyph Seeker challenge:

Stupid question I'm sure, but if you're the one to put the challenge on, can other people interact with the glyphs? Or can only the person who put the challenge on use them?

I don't think your Red Glyph is visible to anybody else but you.

Alright, thanks. I don't want anybody stealing my precious glyph's.
7 -
Thank you for making this. Just finished a trial on Dead Dawg and I did not see a single red glyph, guess I was just looking in the wrong spots.

When playing killer I was unable to interact with the red glyph. It would kick me out of the action each time. Was it a one time glitch or is there something I’m not doing correctly?

You have one Red Glyph of the map. if everybody has choose the quest its still one, BUT just one of five can pick up the glyph

I am having trouble finding them I spent a whole game doing nothing other than searching for a glyph covered the whole map several times with no luck is there any technical problems with them spawning??
3 -
I'd recommend doing the red glyph challenge as survivor as obviously a Killer doesn't have time to spare searching every inch of a map for a glyph

I played my first match as killer with it and got super confused. It was a corn level and it was in the corn so I could hear it but couldn't find it. I thought my game was glitching or something but those survivors got a good 30 seconds of free time as I kept wandering in the area trying to figure out what the hell was making that weird noise :D

Did you hold down the interaction button? The interaction will cancel if you don't hold down the button.

I don't understand, are people really having a hard time figuring out how these work? This must be the third thing I've seen on these so far. They work exactly the same as the pustulas, except they're invisible from a distance.
1 -
I've heard of a technical problems with spawns, but they can spawn practically anywhere from my experience. You have to be fairly close to the Glyph for it to become visible to you, too.

These things look pretty cool and I think it would be cool if they were in games just in general to get 5000 extra BP or something.

doin gods work my guy

So it's the 4th anniversary crowns again.
Sound simple but if I'm playing killer i'll probably just farm because I'll waste alot of time just looking for it.

The real question is, what is the point?
3 -
Yeah the trailer hyped up red glyphs to be mysterious and dangerous, I expected something would happen or I'd receive a debuff of some kind (25,000 bp for three rounds of that though isn't enough thinking about it).
I was overly dissapointed from a gameplay perspective, the glyphs are cool af tho

The red glyphs are weird because I played Blight yesterday and one appeared in the middle of a chase. It was in the killer shack with the pallet already down so the survivor already made a lot of distance and basically escaped me because I had to get the red glyph lol.

I thought it would me some way to get special skins or something. So far it seems that's just a gimmick that they've coded into the game to utilize the 4th year crown code...

Is it common for glyphs to spawn in the sky where they're uninteractable?
7 -
My dude was able to interact AND take a glyph from a killer in a match. He was wondering why he couldn't find the glyph and my dude snatched it so its either a bug or you can take a glyph.
1 -
what are we playing enderal now?
2 -
When I saw a glyph as survivor, I could interact with it but the bar wouldn't go all the way so I couldn't collect it for the challenge.

I just wanna say, I was playing survivor and getting chased by a wraith when he suddenly stopped, I watched him bc I thought that he was probably dcing but then a “red portal thingy” (glyph) appeared and scared the hell out of me. I had no idea these were a thing and had to look this up, I thought he was hacking and I was about to get sucked into a black hole or something lol

As survivor, i wasn't able to interact with a glyph on The Game.
Another great new feature no one asked for it.

Welp, I’ve played for three days and have yet to see one. Back to the mist for me. I’ve got better things to do than search and search.

FYI, if you are playing as Wraith, you have to uncloak to interact with a glyph. So if you intend to do that challenge as Killer don't pick Wraith for it, it takes longer to uncloak than it takes to interact with the glyph.

I'm rly excited for the lore behind thjs

What do they do? Do you get extra Bp?

I managed to get this challenge done yesterday, and once I first collected one as killer I thought I was tearing into another dimension. Makes me disappointed that they could have done something more with these, instead of slapping it onto a tome challenge and saying done. If we actually had a Lunar New Year Event, collecting Red Glyphs could have helped us for earning certain cosmetics.

I hate these things so ######### much.

hmmm, I was hoping for you to be transported to a demonic version of the map when you interacted with it. Color me dissapointed.

Can other players see the glyph when you're interacting with it, or do they just see the weird motion you're making?

Who thought these damn things were a good idea?
2 -
It wasn’t too terribly difficult. I managed to get all three in probably 6 rounds. In one of them another player just barely beat me to the punch. Basically just play the game normally and don’t actively search for them and you’ll probably just stumble upon them. They’re no big deal.

No idea if anyone said this but I had a game where someone collect my glyph but then another spawned somewhere else and I got mine.

I don't know if someone has said it yet, but just had a match as Spirit with this as my challenge, and when I got closer I heard this weird noise and I first of all thought it was just Spirit being Spirit but im pretty sure it has its own lil noise when you get closer to it

Other players can see the Glyph but not sure they can understand or collect it if they are not hunt for it.
When I played I saw one player doing something strange and I think he is protecting place around gen which we are repaired.
But now I know it was Glyph. Then other players definitely can see it!

Collecting 100 glyphs will give you a crow..that chases you.
A lot of these challenges do nothing but detract from regular gameplay , ruin matches and otherwise promote unhealthy playstyels Shoudl not be running around looking for glyphs as either killer or survivor..
Nor shoudl you be chasing survivors who don't want to be healed, dropping and resetting pallets, chasing crows, etc etc etc.
It's making hte game stale. Maybe it's appealing to people who don't really care and just want to have fun, but if you're a killer or a survivor joining a match and trying to play seriously and eveyrone else is running around like maniacs than that's not even fun..
that's just messed.
Same problem brawlhalla has wher you have to get 500 kills , in a certain way, on a specied maps..
and look how people play that game..purposefully dcing because it's not neon city, and doing nothing but spamming side sig
Just make a seperate server for these shenanigans or allow people to complete them in private matches .

Is there any kind of audible cue associated with these? In multiple trials, having the challenge activated, I keep hearing a strange sound I can't otherwise identify.
0 -
yeah....there is a ripping? sound when it opens and closes. but its kinda quiet
0 -
I mean in proximity to a close but undetected one, like Small Game.
0 -
no its an environment sound. it opens in player proximity but you don't have to be looking at it, you can hear it open and close. But no nothing like small game.

So me and a team with help from a killer just went over TWO entire zones, we covered every inch and we were talking together at the same time, we done a full circle closing in that circle till we all met at center. We all had the challenge. ZERO Red Glyphs spawned. They need to take these out till its fixed
