What tier is Clown now?

WishIcouldmain
WishIcouldmain Member Posts: 4,082

So the tiers are S,A,B,C,F So Nurse, Oni, Bubba, Pig, Trapper for reference. So before I'd say Clown was C tier although most said F tier. But what tier do you think he is now? I'd say low B tier. He is definitely better just on the reload. But there are moments where The Antitode can come in on loops where the tonic couldn't do it by itself. But overall the gameplay is the same. And he still can suffer the pre dropped pallet.

He was never F tier. But this rework sucks, so in my opinion he's still a C tier.

Same as he was before. Only thing I'd argue differently now is that Clown isn't the worst Killer in the game, which I'd say is now Myers.

I think the 3 seconds reload is just enough to get him above the pathetic Shape that we currently have.

    Underrated killer.

His yellow bottles are essentially pointless in most cases it seems (as of now), so for me his rework was basically a reduced reload cooldown, which is a decent buff. Still think his rework didn't solve his main problem which is just drop the pallet early, so I still think he kinda sucks

  • C tier

His reload speed buff is more useful than his "rework" yellow bottles lol. Strength wise he's essentially the same because the yellow bottle's buff is so minimal it's almost useless.

Although it's nice to see Clown get some attention, I don't think his "buff" will really make a significant difference.

His increased reload speed is a great change, so credit to the Devs for that, but I can't really see the logic behind the new yellow bottles. At loops, there's no reason to use them over the normal bottles and although they can give you distance when catching up to a survivor, that extra time you've just saved by using them is often completely cancelled out by the time you have to spend reloading as a result of using them.

I was expecting a bit more of a proper rework when the news first surfaced of his buff, but oh well. It's not great, but it's better than nothing right?

I'm absolutely pissed off that the proposed change was actually the ONLY thing they did for Clown.

(Improved reload speed is just a number tweak, though it helps, I don't consider that a "real change" as it doesn't change anything significant about his kit, it just alleviates an issue that he had that reloading took too much time)

Because let's get real for a moment here, the yellow bottles have absolutely no real significant use or impact in a match. With the speed boost you only gain some 2.3 meters of distance overall, which is basically nothing, on top of having now sacrificed one of your bottles since both the yellow and purple share a pool. Sure, it's not like the Clown got any worse with this change since you don't have to use the yellow bottles, but Clown was and arguably still is in an awful place, he needed a sizable buff to address problems of a lack of map mobility, map control, and a general lack of map pressure. This change was not that sizable buff, sure the yellow gas has a purpose but the purpose is so minor that it may as well not even exist most of the time. It was a disappointing, pitiful change and that's it.

What really gets me riled up is that the devs are likely looking at the fancy new visuals Clown has for his bottles, the "Brand new mechanic" they introduced which is "sure to make him better!" and they're going to pat themselves on the back for a "job well done", and then they're going to ignore Clown for yet another year or two before finally they decide to take a whack at trying to make him a better killer again.

Clown is one of if not the most underdeveloped, under-appreciated original killer out of the entire roster. He's had so few changes of real significance made to him, it blows my mind that this killer has been so consistently poorly rated by the community for the longest of time, and the devs are STILL so unwilling to actually provide a sizable Doctor level rework. I cannot believe it, and it's beyond frustrating as hell for a genuinely cool and creepy killer.

Clown was one of the first 10 chapters ever released into the game, years later we're almost double that at 20 chapters and some of the later killers that came after clown have had more serious thought and effort put into reworking them than clown ever got in his entire lifetime. It's absolutely ridiculous.

To be fair though, I think he has the best reworked addons of any Killer up to this point. All of them are unique and not one of them is a diet version of a teachable perk.

Even without the yellow bottles, the faster reload speed alone makes him way more viable.

His yellow bottles don't really do much. His increased reload speed is the only good thing about his rework.

Addonless Clown is slightly better than he used to be because the reload speed buff, but they absolutley nerfed his addons into the ground.

Antidote is so useless its baffling why they even bothered adding it. Its bad to use in chase because Survivors benefit from it as well, and the speed boost it gives you is so minor that it's pointless to use for map mobility because the time it takes to reload your bottles wastes way more time than you save by using them.

Still one of the worst killers in the game, if not the worst.

He can completely deny 90% of the loops, but his power isn't lethal. B tier at best.

His rework didn't do much & I think he's practically the same killer as he was before. Sure, the faster reload is a bit more viable, but I don't think that little improvement would move him up an entire tier.

A pretty top tier C tier killer with the ability to grind some quick downs with the combo of antidotes, tonics, and faster reload time. I just wish the tonic and antidote were separate, like for example, using 1 antidote leaves you at 3 antidotes but keeps your tonic count as 4.

I personally think it's still a little too early because it's only the end of Day 2, but if I had to place him I'd say he stays C Tier.

His tier hasn't moved since the changes. It barely even qualified as a buff.

When it was announced, I didn't understand why I'd want to make survivors go faster and, having played a few times, I still don't understand.

Has rose up from C Tier, to a solid B Tier killer. Still wish they would have addressed his map mobility problem

I think the clown was originally in D tier along with wraith and Trapper, but is now in C tier along with Myers, Legion, Demagorgan, and Pig. (voted B tier because you said he was in C tier and I think he went up by one. Also you for some reason have an F tier but not an D or E one.)

Myers? What about wraith, blight or freddy? And its honestly a debate whether Myers is better then ghostface. I'm pretty sure Myers is far from the worst killer in the game.

Firstly, Wraith got buffed in 4.5.0 and is going to get a bigger buff with the new chapter.

Secondly, Blight and Freddy are both top tier Killers. What the hell are you on about?

Thirdly, Myers is Ghostface, if they:

    • Made Ghostface one of the tallest Killers in the game with no crouch
    • Removed leaning
    • Made it take way longer to stalk
    • Gave Ghostface a movement speed penalty while in stealth
    • Forced him to effectively mark 3 people just to get one Exposed hit usually

Myers has the worst early game of any Killer, and nothing can put a Band-Aid on that any more.
