People keep whining about hitboxes, but it's not that, it's just your average desync and ping shenanigan. For some reason it got bad with the last patch, but what you need to realize is that even if it looks like you got hit out of nowhere, the killer had to actually land a legit hit on his side.

Because something which is called “hitboxes” are ######### up since the new midchapter update
3 -
The hitboxes have always been wonky in this game but this new patch takes that to a whole new level, I bet a freddy with CDG would look like you're being hit from a mile away now

/facepalm

I feel you... Well, that's DbD, no one listens each other, it doesent matter if its the devs or players...

I agree

I know right? It's almost a carricatur at this point.

Same reason my attacks keep phasing through their heads.
Hit boxes are busted atm and need to be fixed immediately.

To survivors it looks like the hit was too far but when I play killer I have to get super close to them to land a hit. I'm trying to see if I can get these crazy hits that I see when I'm a survivor when I'm playing killer but it doesn't work that way. What does it mean the hits dsync like does neither side see the hit landing the same way?
1 -
yes so basically what you see as a killer are things survivors have already done by like around 0.3 maybe 0.4 seconds.
1 -
Again, the problem IS NOT the hitbox. STOP repeating that stupid lie.
The problem is a ######### latency and desync. The killer may hit your from afar on your screen, and it totally feels bad, but he still had to hit you legitimately on his own screen.
It's not nearly as broken as everyone seems to think, it just LOOKS bad. VERY BAD.
2 -
except it is completely broken right now.
In previous patch you were getting hit through windows/pallets in ways that were debatable, especially with a high ping, but now things are just so, SO much worse, you really can't loop, because you simply can't know where the killer actually is.
I play mostly killer, so I know perfectly well that on killer screen the hit is legit, but this doesn't change the fact that on the survivor screen it definitely is not, and it's not a matter of bad timing, it's just that you are apparently completely safe, even when you are not.
For example:

This is not the normal "freddy OP lunge", this is just bs.

Because DBD is a great game.

Do you... do you know how to read?
Did you TRY to read my post before making your neat lil collage of screenshots?
I KNOW what the problem is, I literally just explained it. And as I said, despit looking bad on the survivor screen, it's not a hitbox problem and it's not a case of killer being able to magically reach 4 meters more than they use to. It's just a bad case of desync, the killer still did the job to get the hit, it just took longer than it should to register and pop on the survivor screen.
At no point it gave the killer an advantage, it's just delayed, without the delay, the survivor would have received the hit at the same time that the killer actually hit them and he would have been down the same way.
1 -
Did you even tried to read what I said?
I KNOW all that. And a I said, its a sync issue not a hitbox issue. YES, it looks very bad on the survivor side, but it doesnt change the fact that the killer didn't magically got a free 5 meter lunge, he had to put the work to get a legit it, but the hit got delayed before reaching the survivor screen.
It didn't gave the killer any advantage, it just made the thing look extremely bad on the survivor side.
1 -
you ca be angry as much as you want and throw your childish tantrum, but you are still wrong:
if survivors are unable to know where the killer is, the killer DOES get an unfair advantage, because survivors will extend loops when they shouldn't, or they'll simply put themselves in spots that don't make any sense, feeling a false sense of security.
If you don't realise that don't worry, nobody cares anyway.
6 -
Of course it gives advantage when the survivor can't really see what's happening and can't react to it that well. I was upstairs right next to a window, kept looking at the the door. The killer walked in, and I jumped immediately out of the window. The killer was far away downstairs, had to walk across the room and up the stairs to get me. I had tons of time to get away.
And he hit me.
The fact that it only looked like he hit me from several meters away doesn't really change the outcome. I could react only when I saw him and at that point it was too late already.
4 -
Oh no it is absolutely as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Killers rounds, everything looks fine, survivor rounds, you're getting hit with stretcho arms.
3 -
Wrong, as survivor it is impossible to react to what's happening because you've already been hit as soon as the killer is in your immediate vicinity. Also Noone really cares if it's the hit boxes or latency, sure using the term "hits" is more accurate, but not sure why you're on some crusade to be right that it's latency and not hit boxes, you get what people are saying right? The hits are trash.
3 -
Its not a "legit hit" because on my side, the Killer was too far away and, I thought I was safe to vault, juke, pallet drop, ect.
3 -
Except, when he hit you on his screen, you werent safe, it's just the delay that delayed his hit to where you looked indeed safe, but in order to land that hit he had to ... well, have you on range on his screen at some point.

Since there was a new update, the servers are going to be a bit wonky. You could also just have terrible WiFi.
Hitboxes also haven't changed to account for the survivors' new postures, so hits that would look completely fair with the old, hunched over models might look dubious now.

Dude, it's not latency. I have hit people from the other side of the pallet.
Face the facts, the hitbox is #########. Even Behavior is listening.
4 -
Except bhvr confirmed on the discord server it was a hitbox issue.
1 -
Isn't she only from public relations? Because you know that behavioral has zero communication between people, so she doesen't know most of the time what is going on, so has to improvise.
Otzdarva did some testing and in fact hits that are legitimate for killer's perspective are wrong on the survivors pov.
They have a point, as a survivor you are forced to play as you have high ping (earlier pallet drops, vaults), so survivors are in disadventage bot from technical, but from tactical perspective.

We can tell you've been a happy killer main since this update havnt ya

So being hit from miles away "isn't as bad as people say"? Bruhhhhhh yeah it ain't a hit box issue its desync but the fact that its gotten worse in this update. "IT jUsT LoOk'S BaD"
