‘The Game’ map needs a reduction in pallets

I’ve seen from quite a few streamers, and through my own play that ‘the game’ can spawn an insane amount of pallets, especially safe ones. The breakable walls actually assist the killer, but if you’re a basic attack killer, then this map is a living hell. The amount of pallets need to be reduced or make certain pallets fair unsafer. There are about 5-7 god pallets that can spawn and it’s a bit ridiculous.

the thing about breakable walls Is I don't know anyone that plays survivor or killer that likes them. They seem to annoy everyone and its one of the few thigns almost everyone seems to agree on.

pallets are important and I still think most maps don't have enough. Good killers can avoid getting hit 75% of the time, and some pallets are nothing more then traps to waste time using or hiding by.

It's not even the hook spawns. It's the unpredictable breakable walls in between hooks.

Most other breakable walls in other maps have a nearby window to vault, which makes them survivor sided. On this map that doesn't happen which is why both sides are annoyed. I bet they had a window next to all of them during testing, and probably said.. 'this is too much, even for us.'

They really missed an opportunity to put more window play upstairs by making that big middle room. I would've taken that over the 25+ safe pallets (Don't forget the excessive amount of walls) that can spawn on the map. Breakable walls also completely cuck hooking and be dead ends for survivors.

You know how MIdwich is Hold W Simulator? Well The Game is Press Spacebar Simulator.

Honestly, this is probably the worst map rework that they've done so far.

Well... putting pallets down is easier than making vault loops...

The thing about The Game and pallets is the fact that there kind of needs to be more pallets. The map has 7 vaults in total (I think) which is SIGNIFICANTLY fewer than any other map. Because of this lack of vaults, they need to be replaced by something else (pallets).

Furthermore, these pallets need to be of a certain strength to substitute what would be a permanent vault, which would not be able to be destroyed, which is probably why so many of the new pallets on The Game are so safe.

Yeah I think you're right, but still, I don't think it would've hurt to put a few maze tiles upstairs or something. Mindgaming on this map isn't really an option since a lot of the god loops, plus some of them can been seen over now.

Just wish they put more mindgame potential on the map that doesn't have a lot of mindgaming to begin with. : (

Eeeeh, too much work that actually needs thinking, better to just make new UI and animations.

I bet they wanted to have a certain number of pallets, but something didnt work and they didnt bother to test it, too much work.

I just can't believe they test stuff with new desync, lack of collision in new greenhouse, lack of some animations, broken bus and so much more.

I remember seeing comments about desync since the PTB but it was all assumed to just be dedicated servers. It's something that completely that went under the radar.

So much stuff managed to get more bugged after a week of extra work. I hope the hotfixes start coming hella soon.

Give them a month or two... and give them a moment to post a notice that crawling on unreachable spots while downed is bannable.

That’s okay. Most maps are in favour of the killer anyway. Well take the extra pallets. ;) Thank you though

you gotta remember though that it makes up for the lack of windows.

let’s say the average map has 14 pallets and 11 windows. in total that’s 25.

gideon had 23-25 pallets and near no windows. if you think about it gideon’s extra pallets are pretty much “breakable windows”

for how small the map is, how easy it is to pressure, how easy it is to patrol, how quickly pallets throw down and how every section of the map becomes a dead zone every time a pallet gets thrown it’s actually not as bad as you’d think. could be changed a little but as long as you don’t respect pallets at all (especially safe ones) the pallets will fly down and give it a few mins and the entire map will be a dead zone. it’s rough to START as killer but the killer will generally have a good end if you play your cards right. hopefully this helps.

I disagree. I always thought of the game as a survivor sided map (even though lots of people didnt agree) because it was quite easy to juke a killer in the lower level. But that ability is gone. See-Trough-stairs, wide open rooms on top, breakable doors that actually trap you inside a room, the ability to hide and juke is seriously nerfed on this map.

In addition, the game map was never very vault heavy. But survivors need something to work with. While the amount of pallets seems quite excessive, once they are gone there is next to nothing a survivor can do in a chase.

So no, i think a reduction in pallets without compensation for survivors just make the map heavily killersided.

The issue is that there are barely any vaults on that map. You have like less than five overall. Pallets make up for that, but they need to reduce the number of God pallets.

These pallets don't need to be completely safe pallets and god pallets at all... You can perfectly add more pallets to compensate for the vaults, but I see no reason why these 20+ pallets need to be insanely strong...

It's not like the vaults in the other maps are god pallet level strong... There's some strong windows, but there's some strong windows on the Game too.

This, or because of the lack of windows, reduce the amount of safe pallets.

While you're at it, pls do something about the dead end pallets, preferably reduce the amount of breakable walls.
