Can we please stop demonising stealth please?
Because you know what I’m sick of?
Survivors that don’t treat the killer like a threat and are going down like flies, giving the killer multiple hooks at 5 gens!!!
Please pay attention and HIDE when you see the killer!

Have to agree, as killer when I down a survivor and then i see all 3 of the rest coming towards me to pick up/unhook its Christmas come early

Stealth is not bad. It just requires a 🧠

Just slugged 3 as the doctor due to those kind of tactics. Only one player actually decided to treat the killer as a threat, 2 others got slugged trying to get my to drop their friend. Iron grip ftw.

There are few things more miserable in DbD than a team of stealth players. There is absolutely no right answer and finding them is basically a coin toss because you can't predict people you haven't even seen yet. As a killer you waste so much time looking for people that might not even be there while the generators are flying by in the distance.
You say "demonise", I say "I want to actually try and play DbD."
Thankfully, the vast majority of my opponents instead just hold W and instadrop strong pallets, so instead of not being able to play DbD because of one reason I actually don't get to play because of another.

Lol I don't understand why some survivors do it. And doctor as well haha I mean stealthing against the doctor is hard but blatant running at him is asking for major trouble! Its when they're like flies around you hovering about i love it- non of them are doing gens so they're not making progress. If you don't do objective it may take some time but you will be downed and hooked
2 -
They didn't even have flashlights or try to run me into a pallet, those would have at least worked out a little better. But right above the basement when I've already broken the shack pallet? May as well wait downstairs and pick out a favorite hook
2 -
I'm all down for stealth unless they are playing p3 cluad or Adam with the dark jacket
0 -
Lol That's just lunacy. As I said they must have been like flies and youre trying to decide which one to go for first. No flashlights no god pallet I mean please please PLEASE tell me that at the very extreme least they had BT? Any of them?

People hate on stealthy players because most are useless and fail to take aggro when it's needed and just die on first hook at the end.
Stealth can be really good, but MANY players fail to do it properly.
Just like Self Care or Urban Evasion
5 -
As a Doc main I kinda laugh at players who try to hide a lot. Between Distressing and "Calm - Carter's Notes," stealth doesn't exist when I have a Static Blast ready.
3 -
Yes, so so right.
Hide, let the killer get far enough away so a safe recuse can be made & enough time to scatter to a nearby pallet to heal whilst making it hard to be tracked.
Also, survivor awareness distinguishes between a poor survivor and a good survivor. I see far too many getting chased who then bring the killer towards the hook when there are two other survivors to make a clean save. Its like they're naturally drawn to the aura
3 -
Nope, DS, self care, kindred, so I guess they at least got to see each other
1 -
THEY HAD KINDRED AND DID THAT?!?!?!?! Wow ...just...just wow
2 -
Stealth only helps yourself. Running the killer helps the team.
4 -
It’s just as miserable having the other 3 survivors see who can be the biggest hero while they’re all INJURED
3 -
The last thing killers should want is to play against full stealth teams. They can make your games miserable. Careful what you ask for lol

No one has a problem with stealth. Its when someone is immersed thats the problem... If people are dying on hook, and you are crouched against a wall trying to save your sprint burst, then yes, you're the ass hole
2 -
I think its more someone goes down and other survivors blatantly run to the killer in a sort of suicide mission. You're right there's a time and a place for stealth and time when stealth is not required/appropriate. But running at the killer especially while injured and you're asking for trouble. And making it harder for youre team
1 -
I wish I could get those trials. That sounds like such a lovely break.
1 -
They don't happen often but when they happen as I said before, its Christmas come early
0 -
idk id rather them run at the killer vs “stealth since 98% of the survivor player base has no idea how to properly stealth and think stealth is never being seen by the killer, never touching a gen and hiding because they are scared.
2 -
People confuse those that hide in a corner with stealth. If you're being productive during the match - gens, saves/heals, totems - I don't care if the killer never sees you because your stealth play is helping the team. It's when you're hiding in a corner or locker hopping, doing nothing the whole match, and then camping the hatch that it's not OK - it's not stealth, it's just hiding.
5 -
I just find stealth boring personally. I’ll only demonise someone if they are doing nothing while stealthily or aren’t taking aggro when they need to
0 -
Great way of putting it actually;
Stealth vs Hiding
3 -
I like stealth, but there is a clear difference between maneuvering around the killer and hiding in a corner being unproductive. I see so many people bad at it, thinking that remaining unseen requires you to be stationary. Worst thing I see though are Survivors that complain about lack of options but refuse to use stealth. You don't have to prefer it, but don't dismiss the tools your given and then ask for more.
3 -
Just out of interest do you play Solo? I do and unfortunately all it takes is one wannabe maverick to go for a stupid reckless save at the beginning of the game and get downed or hooked while the original survivor is still on hook. 2 survivors out of play and 2 on gens at least one now has to move (possibly both). As a solo that happens more often than I'd like and when it happens it really turns the game on its head. It just got a whole lot harder...
2 -
I mean almost every killer has something to work against stealth
doc was made for this reason
gf wraith Myers pig and I guess in a way death slinger is stealth
billy blight oni spirit are really quick giving little time to hide
the only killers that can struggle with this is ph nurse bubba trapper hag pluage and I guess twins but who plays them
legion but if they find one they find all of you so yea
2 -
Stealth is bad for survivors because it induces tunneling on other survivors. If 3 survivors are dead and you are the only one left alive because you stealthed you likely also have 0 hooks on you, meaning you actually forced the killer to tunnel your teammates instead of distributing hooks around evenly.

Ever heard of Quick and Quiet?? Best Doctor counter ever... Add Head-on with it and it's a wrap, I hardly EVER get found unless it's a supppperr GOOD Doctor. Which is rare because I've went against several streamers who think they're the best Doc and won 😉 I do love playing Doctor as well, but it's to easy for me. I'd like a challenge.

Nobody is demonizing stealth, people are demonizing hiding in the most obscure corner you can find. Stealth is a part of the basic gameplay loop, being a stow away all match is borderline griefing depending on the situation.
3 -
I hate them if they're my teammates but love them if I'm Killer. They think they're so amazing and can wreck the Killer but go down so quickly. Let me guess, a bunch of them also DC or suicide because the Killer is "overpowered"?
Also, it's not being stealthy people have a problem with. It's Survivors using it to justify crouching around doing nothing. A stealthy Survivor that does objectives and helps the team is a big help and is wanted by many people. What people hate is a Survivor that crouches around the map (usually with Urban) not helping with objectives or hides the moment they hear the terror radius.

That's not stealth. That's playing immersed.
2 -
As much as I love stealth, I have to disagree.
Killers will complain that they can’t find survivors or the survivors are keeping the game hostage because they’re hiding.
1 -
I came into this thread to defend Ghostface and turns out you were talking about Survivors.

ZE POWERS... ZE POWERS OF STEALTH!
1 -
Same.
As for the question on the title, I will stop demonising stealth players when they stop bringing keys and stealthing around the map without doing anything at all, waiting for everyone else to die.
I will stop demonising stealth players when they take the aggro for once when they see the killer is chasing me AGAIN because he couldn't find any of the blendies.
I will stop demonising them when they heal me after unhooking me or at least offer the killer a chase, instead of crouching away and leaving me all alone to deal with the killer who came back to get the unhooker.
I will stop demonising them when they stop calling the killer "a filthy tunneler" because they couldn't find them all game and had no other choice than go for the people who actually offered them a chase.
I will stop demonising them when they actually commit to a 95% gen instead of stealthing away and letting the killer PGTW it.
I will stop demonising them when they actually try to do the last gen when it's only me and them remaining in the match, and I'm the only one trying to either do the gen or loop the killer to give them enough time to do the last gen, while they're stealthing around waiting for me to die and/or looking for hatch.
I could go on and on but I think my point is clear.

It's just bad practice, it leads to teammate induced tunneling.
Stealth is a good tool. It shouldn't be your main play style.
1 -
Yep
0 -
No. That’s crap. It’s not productive throwing myself on the line for 3 survivors hooked twice each and NONE of them have done gens yet
0 -
Mans really did that to em'.

I will always play stealth since my hands can't handle long chases. Even if they could, I prefer stealth. I like the idea of the killer being this oppressive force that I must avoid at all costs. It doesn't mean I wont do gens or help teammates, I will, but I will not stick my neck out for you if you're useless.
I just wish the devs would give more options for stealth game play. As things are, it seems like they're moving away from it.
3 -
So much this. Nothing makes me want to take the 5 more than wandering around the map for 5 minutes to see that no gens have been touched between 3 people. Stealth teammates are usually pretty aggravating. They take no pressure off the rest of the team with chases and are often super inefficient with objectives. Or if they do get found they tend to go down in ~10 seconds because they never practice chases.

As a killer I hate stealth because the game just boils down to me walking around the map looking for Blendettes who do nothing but hide, and the game lasts 25 minutes because I couldn't see the Blendy literally nearly invisible in the bush.
As a survivor, I hate it because most stealth players tend to treat the game like if they get caught their computer will explode. Hear that terror radius? Go hide behind a tree for five minutes! Did your Spine Chill light up for .5 seconds? Uh oh, better Sprint Burst into that corner! Stealth isn't always bad, when used by good players it's an excellent tool. But most players can't seem to get the hang of it.
I also do hate survivor's that just get downed in seven seconds. I think I just hate Solo Survivor.

Stealth is (somewhat) and should be a natural part of the game for survivors. The best defense against a Killer is not getting caught. However, stealth has to be balanced with the game the other people you're playing with. You still have to be active and beneficial. Do gens, get teammates off hooks and get them healed. If everyone else has been hooked once and you're close enough to take aggro, do it.
When it's only 2 survs left and there are still gens to complete, stealth is really the only way survs stand a chance of escaping.

Stealth, what's stealth? *Does a doctor laugh*

I've recently tried playing more stealthy due to the ridiculous hits and FPS drops that happen in chases this patch and found it to be quite fun at times.
That was at Rank 1 by the way. Even experienced killers don't expect big David to suddenly disappear behind a random tree.
Gotta love Fixated 😏
