Background music when playing killer.. WHY?

My question is.. If killers are supposed to use their ears to keep tabs on survivors, why the heck is there a constant background track playing throughout the entire match? Is it meant to be a crutch?

I'd love some insight, because I really have no clue why there is a song playing constantly in the background aside from it being there intentionally to make listening to survivor movement harder for the killer.

  • Originally they wanted killers to track injured survivors via sound

A few years back they seemed to decide they didnt like this idea anymore and now they pump up the music to drown out the sounds instead.

They might as well just remove injured sounds so that we dont need to put up with ear destroying music every chase

Hello, I remember the comment from the management that was displayed on the loading screen in the game during the 4th anniversary.

The killer's chase background music is louder because of Surviver. Very silly idea.
