The Desync is getting out of hand
The game is extremely frustrating on the survivor side with how hits are being registered right now. But for many games, it's /somewhat/ manageable. Absolutely asinine and will propel many killers to ranks they shouldn't be, but manageable.
That is until you face very fast killers like the Nurse or Blight. I've learned the former in order to adept her while facing countless as a survivor, and I main the latter (in red ranks for both). I /KNOW/ when they completely whiffed their abilities and when they outplayed me. Too many times do I face these killers that practically outplay themselves with bad usage of their power but hit me regardless in ways that I firmly believe I could not reasonably counter without having the killer's vision as well. This has become unbelievably frustrating, more so than any other garbage dumped onto us during this update. Of any of the bugs that should've been fixed, it baffles me that this wasn't an urgent priority.
Inb4 people tell me to adapt to it: I didn't pay for good internet to play a game as if I'm consistently lagging with wifi connection. The game isn't supposed to be played like this under normal circumstances.
Am I the only one feeling at their limit with how unpleasant this experience has become?
On a side note, the survivor nodding animation is amazing. How is everyone doing today?

Me. Survivor is almost unplayable atm. It's so annoying. Idk if it's gonna stay like due to the new animations? But I really want them to fix it. It's terrible and it dkdsn feel right at all when playing. Getting hit right after dropping a pallet, getting hit over making a successful vault, etc.

Nope. I stopped playing days ago because of this very reason.
I'll be back if/when they fix this issue. Today's hotfix seems to mostly be about stopping Cheryls from glitching their linked cosmetics though, so I'm guessing it's going to be more of an 'if' than a 'when'.

Gettings hits through pallets/windows/fast vaults is pretty common, and it's because of latency. Do a little google search and you'll know how it works.

I've also noticed some sound issues with the desync. Had a Bubba right next to me while I was looping a pallet at full health but I couldn't hear him rev up the saw. Scared the hell out of me when he just plowed right through me.

I think they mean it's even worse now. After a successful fast vault and being wayyy beyond the window, you still get hit. In a good ping lobby this doesn't happen unless something happens to your connection. It makes pallet timing extremely awkward too.

Oh yeah that's a big one I've noticed, sounds not matching things like the chainsaw. It's actually quite terrifying, especially in a loop where you can't truly see Bubba.

Yeah I went against a Blight a few days ago who didn't make any noise when he slammed off walls. Between that and registering hits from different time zones the match was impossible. That was the last match I played. I'll be back when they finally fix this issue.

It not worse now, it looks worse because of these new hitboxes, but it's always been like this even when the game launched in 2016.
You can have 30 ping in your side, but if the Killer has, for example 100 of ping, this situation will happen: You drop a pallet, the game will send your action to the server, the server then sends this action and notifies all clientes(both other 3 survivor and the Killer), the Survivors will receive the notify action and the pallet will drop on their screen, but the Killer has a high ping! It's 100 of ping, so on his screen, the pallet will take some extra milliseconds to appear dropped and it's still up, and thats why he can hit you after you drop pallets. It's latency.
Of course the devs could do something with the hit reg. validation to negate hits if the Survivor is beyond a dropped pallet on the Survivor screen, but that on the Killer screen would look like the Killer clearly hit the Survivor but the hit won't register, so the Killer will kinda be "robbed". That's why it's hard to "fix".
But yeah, technically speaking, it's worse now but because of these new animations updates.

It's not a player based ping problem though, it's a server side issue that's causing the latency, desync, lag whatever word you want to call it.
Both parties could have 30 ping and it'll still have the killer just teleport or hit you from a mile away. Something server side is causing more then normal levels of latency on the survivor end. The game is basically treating survivors to 200+ ping no matter what their normal connection is.
The hitboxes themselves haven't changed at all if we're to believe them. We still have the same pill shaped hitbox and the killers all have the same hitbox on their weapon. Only the animations are different, nothing hitbox related has been touched as far as I'm aware.

Have you played survivor recently? Right after the new animations dropped getting hit from surv view is a whole lot different now. I think it's called desync or something? Idk. That's what I'm talking about. Not the normal type of hits that you everyone experiences before this animation update

Yeah you know exactly what I'm talkimg about

I played a few matches as survivor and I really got some strange hits.
But the devs acknowledge that there's a issue with the hitbox so I guess that's why.
I guess you're right, something that's making the reply to the clients out of order.
They said something that the new animations are client side, so you will have more free control of your character and it'll look more smoothly. But I guess that comes with a price that is causing the issues in the backend.
And yes, the devs acknowledge that there's a problem with the hitbox.
