Has the game changed much recently?
Hi everyone,
I took a decently long break from DBD so I haven't played for 7~ months. I just wanted to know if there's anything worth mentioning that's changed in that span of time.
I know about the new UI format, haven't used it in-game yet but I've heard a lot of mixed feelings about it.
Also saw Decisive got nerfed (also a controversial topic I assume, since from my experience all that time ago I didn't have huge issues with DS, only when it was abused by 4-man SWFs).
I guess what I really want to know is if any of the new perks (from Elodie and The Twins) are worth getting, and if the meta has changed from DS/Unbreakable to something more fun and interesting. Also, are The Twins a good killer in red ranks (provided you know what you're doing with them)?
Thanks, anything mentioned will be appreciated 😊

Deception used to be a decent perk until they nerfed it days after its release

No one plays the Twins because they're unfun to play for both sides... but they're decently strong if you hardcore slug and camp and never even make an attempt to play normally. The Twins make Hag look like a Killer that leaves the hook and gives free saves. Elodie is average. Her backstory and cosmetics are honestly more interesting than her perks. Aside from some differences in the reworked maps and a whole lot of bugs. The game is gonna feel pretty similar.
Honestly, the last few patches have been underwhelming at best. Hoping the Devs can turn things around with the next Chapter.

Nurse has a buttcrack now.

Survivor is, despite the desync, much easier now. Gens fly as fast as never before.

It appears to have gone from Beta to Alpha.

Yes and No.
Honestly, if you're playing survivor, the tenets of the game remain the same, just your windows are narrower.
- Do Gens if you aren't doing something
- Get Ruin down if you can, but still do gens
- Loop the killer for as long as possible
- Abuse your perks.
A lot of new killers have been added - PHead is probably the one that takes the most getting used to, because you need to predict his ranged attack through walls, but to be honest, the game hasn't changed much for survivors and likely will not for a long while.
For Killer? Ruin got changed and now takes up two slots now (Ruin Undying). Aside from that, not much has changed; stop gens and down survivors quickly. If you're playing a low-tier killer, you'll have to play way better than the survivors to win, and the map will still cuck you no matter what you do. Haddonfield still the worse, Shelter Woods still the best.

Haha I appreciate the tips, but just thought I'd let you know I've played the game a lot and have been rank 1 for a long time. I'm familiar with the strategy involved. I also played when PH was released, I only missed The Twins. It is good but also kind of disappointing to know that it's basically the same though - the game was in a very bad state and most of the community wanted the devs to do something about it. I guess they're taking steps backwards if The Twins most effective playstyle is hard face-camping though, and that the new perks aren't very useful.
