STOP new content, REWORK solo survivors!
It amazes me the devs continue to balance this game when solo and swf is a bigger issue than ever. Survivor needs a rework. I am so tired of having 1000s of hours and being forced to play with team mates who have NO idea what they are doing. A game like this is not enjoyable with newbies. If you are good at this game, you are at the mercy of 4 other players as survivor. FOUR. I can be in a 3 man and we still lose because the solo player throws the match so hard. Good killers only need 1 weak link. Even if you escape, it wasnt even worth dealing with the low quality, unfun team mates. If this game is going to be that heavily dependent on team work, they NEED to stop avoiding this issue. Here are some ideas that I think could really help.
Rework the training mode
Seriously, this would be a huge step IMO.
For goodness sake give new survivors a real training mode. Maybe one you should have to pass if you want to unlock r12. If you don't want to learn the game and improve, stay at r13. Reward bps for training.
Train survivors looping basics, the concept of mind gaming your opponent and taking advantage of killer blind spots. Show an AI killer's actual scope of vision to show survs they can use it to their advantage to lose a killer in desperate situations! Most survivors have NO idea what I'm talking about and bc this game has 0 communication these players stay noobs even after 100s if not 1000s of hours. Yes I've played with 1000+ hour players who still have no idea how to loop. But are at rank one??
Start survivors off with healthy perks
All survivors should start with kindred. Allow them to learn map awareness and killer behavior during hook gameplay right away.
Alert survivors with tips as they play for the first time. For example....
Tip 1: when 3 people are dead on hook, alert the new survivor that it is better to distract killer and take a down and spread out everyone's hook lives so you all last longer as a team, than to simply avoid killer all game. Selfish team mates are a disease to this game bc they dont know any better! Sorry but it's TRUE.
Edit: Tip 2, separate on gens! Increase map pressure!
Rework survivor base kit.
If you want the swf/solo gap to completely close, the devs have to accept giving survivors more aura abilities like bond and kindred for free. Rework perks accordingly, buff killers accordingly. Allow us to turn this base kit off, I enjoy limited communication but I have game/map awareness and I can predict killers behavior. Most survivors don't and instead of using kindred, use SC in a corner unnecessarily.
Obviously, rework the ranking system.
Again, maybe you should unlock some of your ranks through a training mode that trains you how to play the game and use certain techs. Training modes should put survs in certain situations or even just show a video... like the last save in the game where survivors strategically take hits, etc to save their last team mate against a camping killer, even without bt!
I could probably go on but I don't have the time. Devs PLEASE stop focusing on new content while solo survivors suffer. Would love for anyone to add on to these ideas. I love playing survivor but the low quality survivors I am forced to carry all by myself at times is absolutely unacceptable. I shouldn't have to rely on a strong 4man to play quality matches. Thank god I have friends but you shouldn't have to rely on them to have fun!
Edit: potential issues; queue times and swfing with multiple ranked survs.

Well said, honestly theres 2 things this game needs, a better training like you mentioned and more info given to survivors as solo. They can do either VC for this or a ping system to better indicate whats happening

You heard Siren_sorceress devs, you have to stop the chapters now

You can still pip most of the time anyway, both roles. Don't focus too much on escaping or what others should or shouldn't be doing.

I really hope they can achieve this without VC bc I do think it takes you out of the horror environment and part of the fun is not knowing totally everything.
When a team mate knows what you are communicating to them without VC we call them, "knowers" bc they have gameplay and map awareness even without VC.
Also this game is so frustrating, VC could get toxic really fast. Imagine a new player being bad, just tell everyone to body block them! VC WILL be abused. The bigger issue I see is most survivors dont NEED bond and kindred to know most of what's going on but they have to learn first with game information perks. The fact most new survivors don't even take advantage of perks like kindred show how little survivors know what is truly useful for them and what is not cough SC cough, it is game/map information.

I do not play for, "pips." What is the point of playing to simply rank up? Especially when rank means nothing but, "I play a lot but I'm still probably bad at the game."
I dont play dbd to pip ...with 0 skill mind you. I play to win, outplay the killer and experience fun team work interaction.

Have Kindred Built-in.
Kindred now just reveals the killer (Albeit with increased range to compensate.)

You will never control how others play the game. And always blaming others for losing will not help you in any way.

I highly doubt the devs will change solo and swf separately
best we can hope for is good match matching.
Also imo as long as you pipped you did well and it's kinda easy to do so as survivor if you know what your doing.

I agree that post. And i wanna add that:
Please add penalty time for suiciding on hooks. I swear i hate them. They making game worse. And they are so much. That is one of the big problems

Putting effort into an interactive tutorial takes time. A lot could be achieved with simply hosting some tutorial videos that only play when they have focus, and awards 50k BP upon completion.
Doesn't stop someone from walking away from the computer and doesn't give hands on practice but even just introduction to the concepts can go a long way.

I still don’t see the problem a lot of you guys have. Do I get rounds where I lost due to my teammates being potatoes? Sure. Is it every round? Definitely not. Most of the time when we lose it is because the killer is simply better than us. Playing solo is a grab bag, and will always be a grab bag. There is no fix to this. Really the only solution there is to your problem is to simply stop taking the game so damned seriously. Your complaint has nothing to do with bugs or anything the devs can do to rectify the situation. The only person that can fix you is you.

Sorry but I disagree with your point. I can't control how my team plays, but the game can teach players to play better and have more fun overall as a team. Most selfish players are probably selfish bc they have no idea what they are doing or bc they have no faith and trust in their team mates. And why would you. Most survivors are bad.
I absolutely can blame my team mates for losing. This is not a 1v4 game as in 1 surv vs 3 survivors and 1 killer. This game is about teamwork and it is far more fun when you learn how to play well together to defeat 1 common enemy. This game needs to do better to help other players learn how to play.

Idk what it is with people who only care about pipping especially in a pipping system that is almost totally useless.

It's an amazing perk! I like to call it reverse BBQ bc I can almost always tell where a killer will go. To me? To the gen being worked on closest to the hook he just slapped someone on? Learning your opponent is so important in this game!
A lot of time is wasted too on multiple people going for the save instead of rushing their objective.

No thanks on additional base kit features. I enjoy solo with as little boosting as possible.
The training mode is a great idea.

You are going to have to if you want swf and solo to truly be the same balance wise.
That's why I mentioned the option to turn it off because like you, I like playing without and I know its 100 percent possible, (if your team mates are good.) But most aren't.
I would also be up for the idea that at r8 or r5 this base kit could come off as well thus forcing you to use kindred if you want more communication among team mates. The idea is to teach new players map knowledge and killer predictability.

How would I fix this? I don't believe you. I have 5k hours and play this game daily. Most players are bad. Period. Most games are won because the killer does poorly. I believe I have real, practical solutions and you have yet to explain why my solutions wouldn't help raise the quantity of quality team mates and be healthy overall for the game.
Honestly if you care so little that my ideas seem "too serious." For you, just stay at r13 with other survivors who don't care to improve. Casual and competitive players should be separated.

The only way players will improve is through experience and playing with others that are better than you. Just because a person can pass a test that meets your approval doesn’t mean that they will then play how you want them to play. Like it or not, pipping is the test and those that are terrible already find it difficult to advance in rank.

In my own post I said even players with 100s to 1000s of hours can barely loop. Clearly, experience alone is not working.
If you are having trouble getting pips that is 100 percent on you.
You sound defensive. Why you oppose helping players get better while having the option to stay in the more casual ranks is beyond me.

In the games current state, I am very thankful I can leave a match if my team mates aren't worth my time. If they fix the disparity between survivor's skill being matched together, I see not too many reasons to allow suicides other than bugs and lag.

Lol. When you say I sound defensive, to me it sounds like you’re projecting. You made a post, I respond that I disagree with your central premise, and then you immediately retort that I’m being unreasonable and defensive. It’s preposterous. I routinely make it to red ranks and rarely have problems holding my own. Saying that I need to stay above rank 13 because I disagree with you is just stupid. Believe it or not, it’s possible to become good at this game while still not taking it totally seriously and becoming an aggressively competitive try-hard.

"Just because a person can pass a test that meets your approval doesn’t mean that they will then play how you want them to play."
That sounds pretty defensive to me. But go off.
Telling me you make it to red ranks only says one thing, you play consistently. Ranks and pips are meaningless and no, pipping is not difficult. I didnt say you should stay at r13 because you disagree, but because you think some players take the game too seriously. My point was players like you under my idea can stay with more casual players rather than going into red rank with the attitude of, "I dont want to play sweaty so dont get mad that I wasnt trying as hard as you."
And if you dont have an issue with the average red rank survivor I'm going to assume either you aren't that good, (which is fine I'm not saying it as a personal attack.) Or you simply are okay with casual players. Which again, is fine but not everyone likes to play with casual survivors.

Just dream it, what happened to me today. I searched 3 chests. I fixed 3 gens myself. My teammates just down and suicided one by one. And killer found hatch before me. And i lost game for no reason. If my teammates would make 2 gens we would leave but no, they just down. Ok you can down but you are not dying on hook. They did not wait for help. Suicided and left. Just dream it how i felt mad. And so much games happening to me like that.

If you don’t want to play with casual players there are already solutions tailor made for you. Choosing the quick match/solo queue option is there for people that just want to play a quick game. I happen to like the randomness of rounds because I never know what I’m going to get. Playing with potatoes is equally as boring as playing with professional level players every match, imho.
Ultimately what you’re trying to do is akin to showing up to the neighborhood basketball court and forcing all of the local kids to conform to your standards when what you really should be doing is going to form your own league and build your own professional level gymnasium elsewhere. I’m sure there are resources available online where you can connect with others like you, Facebook groups and the like. Use them. Solo queue is not for you.

That's fine we just disagree on the need for the solution, not my solution in and of itself.
And no there aren't always a solution tailored to me, not by far. I shouldn't have to have a daily group of swf to depend on playing with me to get quality team mates under my hours.
Idk why you're trying to convince me to like playing with worse/casual survivors. Solo survivor is not, "casual quickplay." If that were true you wouldnt be pipping and ranking up. The whole point is the ranking system doesnt rank up accurately and thus useless.
My solution shouldnt impact players like you who don't care how good their team mates are. But it would impact players like me positively. What is the downside for you?

Actually you're talking like you're getting red ranks survivors, you're lucky to have that...
All the day, I had rank 1-4 killers with mates 12-20... How am I supposed to win ? Like I had a stupid game, where there was a Meg that didn't know how to move properly, and didn't know she has to unhook and do gen..... Adding to that a Urban Evasion Claudette that went in a corner of the map using SelfCare while suffering Sloppy Butcher, imagine seeing all of that, hooked, and seeing the third surv to be chased, the most anxiety inducing thing to ever exists...
(I was rank 4. Now I'm rank 6. Road to rank 20...)

We were getting r20 killers and r20 survs last night....Luckily we were a 3man. Matchmaking is completely broken rn I believe.
