Is overcharge worth it?
Killer and surv rank 1 here with 5000 hours. Can someone tell me their experience with overcharge? I used it for 10 matches before removing it. I think it that amount of time someone failed the "tremendously hard" skill check 3 times in 10 matches, I haven't played against it in ages but is the skill check even remotely difficult??

Nope, not really.

No it’s not difficult. It could be if you are Doc and the skillcheck is reversed or zappy, or maybe if paired with other perks (Huntress’Lullaby, Overwhelming Presence). Overall, not a perk I would suggest from purple ranks and above. If you need a perk to slow a single gen, use Pop instead.

I didn't have pop yet on my doc and it was hell to get it to show up on the bloodweb haha

Oh well that’s just DbD doing his thing ahah

I wonder if overcharge works with unnerving presence? That would be sweet

Overcharge, Pop, Unnerving, & Lullaby on a swing chains Freddy..

It’s still a very decent perk on Doc for obvious reasons.
It’s also not bad paired with Dragons Grip, as the shock of suddenly getting exposed can be enough for them to accidentally ignore the Overcharge skill check that pops up, especially if they’re running away from the gen straight away.

To make worthwhile it needs to be used as synergy (e.g. impossible skill check doctor etc) Depends why its being used. For awareness could argue Surveillance is better. For regression pop is better. IMO it needs to be part of a synergistic build. Used individually i tjknk it has limited value

Nope.
It's worthless against good survivors.
It's great against potatoes, but do you really need a special perk to help you outplay root vegetables?

It's a garbage perk on any killer but doctor basically. Even then there are mich better perks to take over it.

Garbage.
Only good against bad players, but if they're bad you don't need it anyway.
Anything reliant on skill checks is doomed to be bad because of how inherently easy they are.

That's Lightborn for me. I get flashed so many times, but only have Lightborn for 3 Killers and one of them is Billy

Never worth it. If you want a more punishing bang for your buck, try Mindbreaker with Surveillance. You kick a gen and know you're getting an easy chase as soon as its aura turns yellow.

If I'm not mistaken its the same skillcheck as DS, so survivors are used to it. The only advantatge overcharge has is that it might take surivors by surprise the first time.
Its the kind of perk that I use when I have nothing more to complete a semi-leveled killer.

Maybe on Doctor if your build is around skillchecks or you want some fun / meme build. But as a serious perk on avarage ranks, nope.

You won't need any gen regression against the type of player Overcharge will work against, so no...

It's not that great.
Also, am I crazy or do the lower tiers still have bigger skillchecks even though it was changed to be the same all through.
Or did they increase the skillcheck size for the "Tremendously"? It often seems bigger than it used to, to me.

Definetly one of the most underwhelming perks. Not necessarily the worst perk but its one of the biggest ones that sound really good on paper but aren't that good in game

it works for me sometimes because they don't expect it and still try to tap gens and then are overwhelmed by the sudden skillcheck. But the regression should be much bigger. Not a good perk but if you're playing with PGTW there are not many regression perk that synergize.

Unless you are playing against Rank 20s, no.
