Why didn't the devs just make the UI look like this one?
The character portraits are great, look nicer, and you have all of the information you need along with the hook timer and hook states (although there only needs to be 2 little marks but it is still better than what we have). It is also very simple.

Can we just stop?
I think it's time to stop and move on.

Because they already spent "months of work" (lol) on the new UI

The reason that they're not horizontal is because it allows us to make things clearer.
Who knows what might need to be added in the future as well, we have said there might be more things on the HUD in future.

I agree, that would be a better HUD but they aren't gonna change it. We gotta move on

They want you to be able to read player's entire name.
God forbid if we cannot read "xXx420smokedakush69xXx"

The new UI is still bad, I think it is time for BHVR to do things right.

That UI is completely terrible, because the health states are too small. At a quick glance everyone looks like they are permanently healthy. The current UI is way better, because the health states look completely different at a quick glance. I don't care if your UI looks ok as a super enlarged cropped picture, it would look terrible when displayed as its actual size on a large monitor.

I love that name.

I really have to disagree on the clarity thing. I feel like having the information displayed in this format is genuinely less useful. We view grouped information horizontally, its why most languages write horizontally, we evolved to scan from one side to another. All this does is spread the information and put it in a less comfortable format. Not to mention it does still just cover the screen. Idk i feel like we should be made aware of these "future additions" could possible be that they'd warrant them needing so much space. Even then, a 2x2 grid at the bottom left would take up less space while still providing much more room to dedicate to each icon

Saying that, there MIGHT be more things added to the HUD in the future is too vague of a statement. Then again, they are just words. And we all know how BHVR works.
How long in the future? This year? after 5 years? Will it be scraped?
There has to be some hint, clue, tease or leak to hint towards such a thing. Only if u communicated with us better, hinting towards a new objective or something similar, this whole ordeal wouldn't have happened.
What new things are going to be added? When and where on the HUD? This new HUD now compromised the left side of the screen, so there's really not much option left for new things to go. The OLD HUD didn't compromise the left nor right side of the screen, was compact, needed new images for survivor and new hook counters.
Even If they add new things, where are they gonna go to be more compact now? Or do I need to grow several pairs of eyes like a spider to see all corners of my screen?
This whole thing SHOULD'VE been handled better. Something we've been saying for years now, and I've yet to see BHVR learn their lesson.
I am so god damn tired of us getting angry, then forcing ourselves to get used to the changes even though we clearly said why we didn't like them. A mule can be stubborn only so many times before it's put down.

When u compare between the old and new
And take away Items, it goes like this
The old one, you have free space in the middle of screen. While the new one just feel Gen & Players placed out of nowhere.
I think it should be either one of these:

They’re adding more things to the HUD?? Wow can’t wait -_-

I dont mind the updated UI now. Only thing i wished was a chase indicator

yup on 10th anniversary we will get teaser of those things

Have to agree. Idk why that image keeps getting posted... It's terrible! The one we have at the moment is completely fine in my opinion.

I tend to look at the bottom left corner when I check information. It's a bit of jitter for me. The UI we designed was not displayed in the game, they looked a little monotonous. Instead, we wanted to use our own UI to make the game fun rather than a unified icon. The interesting thing is we can see the designed UI in the interface, but when inside the game it reverts back to its original form. I hope we can choose our favorite ICONS instead of the same ones, that makes it more interesting.🤔

Between the last two options you give I'd put player information on bottom since they will always be there and their information would take up the most space so better to avoid it going into FOV.

My question is what exactly are they going to add that benefits/requires to be vertical? Because for all we know they just lined the names up so we can read them better. It would be nice to know so we can better understand what they're doing.

Console was promised they would get optimization, not vague "might" get optimized, and it hasn't happened years later. I would take "might" as very unlikely to actually happen. Putting UI in bad format because vague things "might" happen is just a terrible excuse for them to continue being stubborn rather than listen to the majority that has said they want the player information horizontal and more compact at the bottom.

I agree and so do many more. This is the best look .

I'm hoping for the ping systen ScottJund was talking about in one of his videos

Yeah that would be pretty cool. Hopefully it's something the devs are looking into.

Because they don't listen to feedback.. they kinda made that obvious.

There is no hook timer on that one for Bill. I think the reason characters are horizontal is because they might add a communication wheel and they want it to be clear who's sending the message. If they were a little more transparent maybe they wouldn't get flamed for every change. But they don't need to be since they don't take feedback into consideration anyway.

It would be nice if the devs at bhvr said specifically the reasons or at least ideas they have for the new vertical ui.

I dunno, it could be hard to see how many stripes a Survivor has, especially on grey maps like The Game.
This picture is zoomed in after all.
