Hatch Glitch from having 2 Hatch Offerings
Had a 20 30 minute game screwing over killer with my gf checking Ormond up and down like maniacs. The hatch was neither at the main building or killer shack.
Also I had pink map with increased distance plus extra time. My gf and 2 randoms coincidentally this game had keys so we all were nonstop looking once hit 2 generators. Then after forever our random got killer to chase him and watched him escape thru hatch by killer shack......so how is this a glitch?
Lemme explain.....we did generator in shack, got chased, hooked, healed and even checked all over this spot specifically about 5 times myself and easily 3 times for my gf. So basically it just randomly spawned after 20 minutes. I would've recorded but like I said was a 20 minute plus game....unfortunately killer camped as Michael so we weren't able to suicide for it but regardless we knew that was bs to the max lol
Anyways I've put a thousand hours or more into the game and never had this happen before so I'm positive it was a glitch and can believe it being that these offerings are new. Am I the only one this has happened too?

umm...
you need 5 gens done for hatch to spawn with 4 survivors alive
if gens done are equal to or greater than survivors left alive then hatch spawn, my guess you just didn't have enough gens done

So hatch wouldn't have spawned yet.
There needs to be one more generator completed than remaining survivors.
1 survivor remaining=hatch
2 survivors remaining=3 gens completed
3 survivors remaining=4 gens completed
4 survivors remaining=5 gens completed

Also, take care that you don't get reported for holding the match hostage/ working with killer. Depending on what the killer/randoms report it could get you in trouble.

Is this an update they implemented cause far as I knew was always 2 to be able to open hatch with key and have seen hatch before with 5 up so im confused.

Its always been that way. The only way the hatch can open at 5 gens is if you're the last one alive.

How can you play this game for thousands of hours and you never knew that. It was always this way, even before EGC.

Ok but it was 3 people with 2 generators forever when our random escaped at a spot we checked definitely a few times or more once hit 2 gens. Its like it randomly spawned after a good bit of searching I'd say 10 15 minutes. And yeah been casual player for long time but I've never felt need to look up stuff just figured most of it out on my own. Guess never went as hard going for hatch escapes until those challenges from recent rift.

Not really. Long ago the hatch spawned always with 3 gen remaining despite survivors remaining and the last survivor didnt have a guaranteed hatch, 2 gens needed to be done always for hatch to spawn.
Btw i feel like an old veteran here 🤣, its incredible how many years of dbd have pass..

Well, if you have recorded that game, you should look back. That survivor probably finished a generator before escaping. I've been playing since 2016 and hatch rules have always been:
1 survivor remaining, hatch always spawns. Also opens instantly.
2 survivors remaining, you need to finish 3 generators for the hatch to spawn in.
3 survivors remaining, you need to finish 4 generators for the hatch to spawn in.(this is also the one rule that makes the key overpowered)
4 survivors remaining, you need to finish 5 generators for the hatch to spawn in.
If it took you 10-15 minutes for it to spawn randomly, odds are likely that the remaining survivor has been doing a generator alone during that 15 minute timegap, causing the hatch to actually spawn, or your teammate died, causing the hatch to spawn. It would actually be a (gamebreaking) glitch if the hatch spawned at 2 generators left with more than 2 survivors alive.

Always been isn't quite accurate. Before EGC the hatch would not spawn for the last survivor unless the gen requirement was met. So last survivor with 5 gens ☠.

This thread is a case study for why keys need a rework.
"Got to 2 gens and immediately looked for hatch".
"We had multiple keys".
Let's just skip out on objectives and end this thing! Ugh!
