The DS change looks good but...

Tunnelers should not be punished. Pretending that it's okay to punish someone for a tactic that's clearly more efficient for them is ridiculous.
Survivors should be punished for unsafe unhooks.

you know, that's actually not a bad idea, interesting food for thought.

DS doesn't stop killers from tunneling!
I've said this before and I'll say it again, killers more often than not don't care if a person has DS or not.
It's like Power Struggle, actually--It's kind of like a "kill me" sign, and only works properly in very specific circumstances (usually being right on top of an exit).
Good suggestions, though--they're pretty neat, honestly, and I feel like they'd benefit the health of the game over-all.
I've probably already been ninja'd on this point already, but I'm too tired to care--to those of you who made it already: you are my people, and I gift you your choice of one (metaphorical) crisp high five, handshake, or hug. Goodnight.

It isn't even 5 seconds for the survivor to gain distance, it's just 5 seconds that the killer is out of commission. You spend almost 2 seconds escaping the killer's grasp and landing on the ground. For that reason alone, I am totally on board for a 6 or 7-second stun. Especially since the perk is ALMOST completely anti-tunnel now, the targeted survivor should be getting more time than a Head-On stun to get away.

You know what I love about these threads? Someone will always say playing the game is easy, then immediately contradict themselves by complaining that something not being in their favor will instantly make it not so.
Like if you're a good survivor, you aren't going to get tunneled out in 30 seconds (at least not nearly enough for it to be something to complain about.)
After all, if survivor is so easy you don't need a handicap of a perk, why are you upset about DS?
And if killer is so easy, why are the que times horrible for survivors at a specific time? Is it because all the good killers go to bed at 6:00? How are so many people even aware that this is a thing if they are playing killer at those times? I mean, it's not like THEY also want to play the less stressful role at night, before they go to bed....?
It can't be that.... Survivor is an inherently more casual, passive role in the game overall, right?

Queu times are bad because people have friends and want to play with their friends. And yes, killer is easy as hell against solos
0 -
Against solos, but see you have to qualify that statement before you can make it. SWF ain't typically as easy to deal with.
Also... The play with your friends line, as if to imply folks that play killer don't have any.. Suppose they don't. Suppose they're adults who don't concern themselves with schoolyard buddies and have very limited time to coordinate a full scale SWF. How does that change the fact that killer is harder than survivor because you can never count on a friend or teammate?
Hell, I don't even agree with you that solo survivor is inherently harder, because the thing that makes it harder is random que teammates not the difficulty of play. If that were the case, there would be no discernable difference between SWF and solo because SWF would be just as bad.
I've had some awesome rando squads, but the matchmaking doesn't select for the better player traits, so there's no way to know if someone was carried by SWF or if they got promoted by really good match ups and contributed little. All I can say is for someone to say they can pick whatever perks they want and still be able to win? That doesn't sound like someone who's much concerned with relying on their teammates in the first place.

IIRC they said the survivors could’t move for 1 second. So thats 4 seconds and having used DS and had it used against me it’s easily enough time to make it to a safe location.
I think a better and more appropriate buff would be to have it where upon stunning the killer you leave no scratchmarks, no blood, and no grunts of pain for those 5 seconds or longer. If there’s no clear line of sight this makes it easy to slip away and truly anti-tunnel.

Reduce the perk safe time from 60 to 45s on T3.
BUT make the timer stop if the survivor is getting chased (so basically getting tunneled for real)
AND make it usable up to 2 times if you are the Obsession (similar to Soul Guard being usable infinitly if a Hex totem is up)
----
That's all the perk need to be more balance and truly counter tunneling. Real tunneling.

Lmao. Imaging being a bad killer and trying to get that toxic survivor that baits you into chasing him after being unhooked. He loops you for 2 mins straight, all gens done and gates are opened, you down him and then he just DS you and escape.
0 -
Then don't tunnel. It's as easy as that ;)
0 -
Even if this survivor just trying to get a chase with you and other survivors are nowhere to be seen?
0 -
you still can down them and go look for others. If they don't have unbreakable they just played badly and let you apply more pressure on the others :)
0 -
I still feel that 60 seconds is enough time waste for a single perk slot on a single survivor.
0 -
that's why i'm suggesting to make it 45 :)
0 -
But they don't go down when you chase. So what the point?
Killer's equialent of this perk would be Hounted Grounds: Surviviors will be exposed for 45 secs and that time won't go down, unless you are in chase.
0 -
the point was that if you decide to intentionnaly tunnel you get punish for it, similar to Pig chasing a survivor with an active trap on it's head stop the timer. ^^

at least you can crawl and be picked up

In the 4.7.0 patch notes today.
- Every trial will now start with an obsession, regardless of player loadouts.
Cross my feet, lean back in my chair, take a sip of some delicious lemon iced tea (sigh of enjoyment).

you got what you asked for. I just hope killer gets a built in 5th perk slot also
0 -
XD why, is that what you asked for?
0 -
I think you meant " probably to stop some of the 'tunneling' ". People tunnel with no obs., not camp.
"I know a lot of people will camp just because it's been implemented"
Lol oh yeah? Who do you know that said, specifically, they would do that? Secondly, how many people is a lot?
I've been playing for around 3 years now and I don't know anyone, personally or online, that would do that or even say they would.
Is the change really so horrendous that someone would ruin their own enjoyment and that of other random people that have nothing to do with anything, really? I'm having a hard time believing that, I really am.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like your speaking for yourself. I mean, we already know you absolutely disagreed with the idea, paragraph after paragraph, in multiple posts.
I think it's time to let this one go, my friend. The devs won't change it back and this moment, will fade away... gg

You and I must be on two separate worlds, because 1) I've seen less tunneling, and 2) I've heard no one, NOT A SINGLE PERSON, say they don't like this change... except you, of coarse.
Idk what to say... maybe, in the virtual world, you're surrounded with people that are filled with hate and distortion. I don't want you to brush it off and say 'no, I'm definitely not' without considering it.
I try to fill my world with positivity and love, I'm proud to say I'm very happy and content.
I hope you have it to and if you ever need to talk, just say "hi".
