Haddonfield - Killers opinions
Evening ladies and gentleman, hope everyone's well.
I've been lurking on these forums since they were created, but never felt the desire to sign up or create a discussion. Well today I feel I have a reason. I've been playing for years, but in the last 12 months i've fully gone with being a killer main. In the past 3-4 months I've been consistently red rank, not that means much anyways.
Prior to playing competent survivors and also being less skilled my self, i really used to enjoy playing Haddonfield. You win some you lose some right?
...wrong
When you're playing competent survivors, this map is a word I'm not going to use out of respect for the illness. The tight structures, the safe pallets, the bushes and hedges, 2 VERY SAFE FLOORS, the easy loops, easy vaults... I could go on. I'm not here to blast survivors at all, do you what can to survive. But from a dev side, what the hell are you guys thinking?
I had a game earlier, got in to a chase immediately hooked them BOOM 2 gens done. I'm not one to ever DC, but I just thought you know what forget this. Took the 4 minute penalty, very next game Haddonfield AGAIN. At this point I was tilted and just took the 15 minute penalty.
At Rank 1, I don't think this map is fair for killers. Albeit i'm not the best, i'm just here for a discussion.

It's nice to get a post relating to a map that has more life than just "survivor-sided/killer-sided."

Yup haddonfield is just one of those maps that completely rely on the survivors making major mistakes and not being optimal on gens.
The game is like this too simply because it has the most pallets as well as the most safe pallets and god pallets, get a team of good loopers and you stand no chance.

Yes, it's incredibly survivor sided. However statistically it's not because you do have to be aware of what windows are greasy and abuseable, and things like that and be an efficient looper to make use of the maps problem areas.
Bedham is worse overall even though it's not as unbalanced technically; because anyone can abuse the problem areas on that map with little game sense.
Honestly I think BHVR needs to get off their statistics high horse and rework the maps properly.

Haddonfield is the epitome of horrible map design. If there is any survivor that think Haddonfield is fair and balanced, I will go off.

You are practically asking a troll to respond XD

Honestly I think I might have attracted a troll lol

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, I thought i was going to get flamed tbh!

Just had a pretty relevant game on Haddonfield. I was Legion against a very obvious console SWF team. Individualy they where not very good in chases, but they had the typical OoO calling my whereabouts and would just run away to safe spots forcing me to chase them in unfavorable positions. Also my Feral Frenzy was negated several times by the absurdly long fences making it impossible to approch efficiently from certain directions. And then you add the indoor generators that are a pain to patrol. You have no visibility on them, they often don't make noise from the outside and walking inside the house up or downstairs to check on them can just be a huge waste of time.
Another fun perk of the long fences is that while a hook might seem close, having to walk all the way around some house to reach it mean you sometimes can't make it. Great for sabo squads.
So yeah, in general Haddonfield is a huge pain if you happen to go against survivors who know how to use the layout of the map to their advantage.

God tier garbage

Agreed, when survivors vault most windows in houses. They'll literally wait for you to vault the upstairs window knowing how safe they are up there.

(this is the part where you go off)

I absolutely hate Haddonfield. It is the only map in the game that makes me glad that Bloodlust 3 exists, because there's loops when you genuinely need it (house of pain with both open god windows, anyone?).

Haddonfield needs a rework as soon as possible. It is an evil map.

Maybe just tag "Ilovedemo" and make it quick. I am quite astounded that he is not already making comments here.
(Btw, just for clarification, is this already considered as naming/shaming or the like?)

Honestly think swamp is worse overall design but haddonfield is a close second

Oh I think Haddonfield is currently known as the most survivor sided map in the game. Pretty sure they are going to rework it at some point.
On another note, is Badham preschool still in rotation? I haven’t seen that map for months.

It’s a bad map and the windows in the Myers house are stupid but I’d still take this map over Rotten Fields or (new) Gideon meat plant any day of the week

First thing i check is if they brought me there intentionally with an offering and if the basement window is open or not.
If it is i just meme arround.

I do fine on haddonfield. There are things that you need to do to play around how safe certain structures are and how gens are spread out. Specifically you don't want to give up the middle core gens, recognizing what windows have spawned makes it easier while in chase as well.

Haddonfield = easy 3 gen 4k with tons of hooks

It's one of the most poorly designed maps in the game visually and for gameplay.

My biggest issue with the map is every gen is within a house (mostly) which is an issue when people can easily take windows you then have to waste time vaulting yourself. If killers had open doorways for faster ways down it wouldn't be as bad. Also the fences and bushes need fixing it can mess over both sides just because bad rng

*put a "I think it's time to introduce myself" meme here.
But yes here is one.
@Beelzeboop thanks dude

Took you 4 months to realize this?

I hold myself back tbh.
(As long it's not negativ, but I guess this was shaming?)

Everytime someone mentions haddonfield i shudder.....

I don't consider his response name shaming, yours might be even then i don't think it's serious.

As a predominately killer player I kinda like haddonfield.
Its different, mixes the game up a bit.
By game design its almost impossible to defend the gens well as killer but its a different kind of game to the other maps. I think without that variety the game would feel even more stagnant. It's already very 'samey'.
I would like to see more maps that really mix it up and a removal of map offerings so that you can't get the offering squads trying to gun for the easiest game possible for themselves.
Seriously if you take every second chance perk and a haddonfield offering on comms with your buddies then you really aren't earning that "gg ez".

I don't mind playing on Haddonfield as a Hag, and it's not too bad for Trapper, for me at least. Any other Killer though...
The thing that gets me though is that it's the Shape's home field, and should be laid out for him to get easy stalks and downs on, but playing as him on that map is really ugly. If you're running Scratched Mirror, it's not bad with all the corners and other places, but trying to get some long-range stalks in before moving up to your prey is almost impossible with gen placement and how many hedges are all over blocking your view.
