Breakable walls and their purpose
Hey everyone, i've been thinking about making a discussion for some time now and give a feedback.
Breakable walls (BW) were introduced with release of the Dead Dawg Saloon map. From my understanding the idea behind breakable walls was to make temporary strong loops until broken and potential short-cuts in some cases. In saloon this works well, it shuts down the killer shack, makes main building less safe, etc.
However with the new graphical updates and breakable walls added to older maps, BW serve little to no purpose, as they punish inexperienced killers or survivors. On maps like the Game, killer has no reason to break these walls, because they create dead ends for survivors. Another example could be Badham preschool or ironworks, where these walls rather punish killers for destroying them, hence it's better to just not destroy these walls to prevent survivors from having stronger loops. And that's why I think they completely lose it's purpose, since there wouldn't be difference between solid or breakable walls.
I felt like this needs some attention and would like to know your thoughts on this.

The Game’s walls need to be broken because they block access to hooks more often than not. It already didn’t have the best hook distribution but the walls make it even worse.

Closed maps take the worst of breakable doors. I imagine if they rework Lery or Hawkins, it would be tedious to play there, Midwich should stay the same, the same goes for Dead Saloon.

I’m glad they reworked Lery’s before they got into this breakable wall craze. It’s the only reworked map to not have any and I love it.

Breakable walls have been extremely poorly implemented, yeah.
What they -should- be is "break this to nearly completely shut down this loop ahead of time in exchange for taking up your time".
What they actually are instead is either:
A) "Never break this ever, or it gives Survivors a new looping route"
B) "Break this immediatley or this loop is a near-infinite lmao"

I agree, definitely missed the potential.

While it is true that hook distribution is weird on the Game, I still never destroy them, because I usually capitalize and trap survivors in dead end areas.

Yeah, I pretty well agree. I think they're kinda fun to play with, but other than that, pretty spot on.

they're so ######### stupid. It's just a buff for survivors as if they needed them? the whole point of breakable walls on maps like midwich or meat plant is so the killer gives a big "HELLO SURVIVORS IM HERE!!!" heads up, as if the terror radius wasnt enough. Except now you give them a few seconds to get running while you break the door

Do you think they'd go back to Lery's? It did get reworked already, and not too long ago. The most I can see is them just upping the textures instead of doing a full rework.
