Breathing life back into the killer game with builds that don't really have to chase
I'm finding the killer experience a lil stagnant lately.
Bascially the principle element of the game that is chasing and, within that looping, is becoming a lil tedious.
Chases are rarely dynamic or requiring mindgames, they are often run around the same rock/junk, pallet saving, then drop, its kinda dull and as I said tedious.
So I'm reinventing my playstyle to avoid looping. I don't want to chase people.
Basement Trapper, <-- Have had a great week with this
Jump scare Myers
Basically any Hag build if you set your traps well.
Looking for other builds that really don't have to chase much.
Maybe basement builds that work well on other killers. I don't mean stadning there facecamping the guy on the hook but generally putting someone in the basement and then not letting them and or their rescuers get out again.
Currently just having fun with,
Trapper - Mad grit, agitation, iron grasp and beleive it or not monsterous shrine. No gen slow down, no real chases just get one down put em in the basement and let the fun begin.

This is pretty much the sole principle why I play Clown: I hate endless looping and long chases. I don’t need to worry about that as Clown.

Distressing/insidious/monstrous shrine/ agitation doctor.
You do one chase ideally. Bring them to basement. Hang out. I do this awful build when I'm drunk and don't feel like figuring out where people go. It'll get you a lot of hate but it's weirdly effective.

I'd take off MS for Stbfl. Imagine running people down with it along with Mad Grit and Agitation.

I played against a Wraith today who had Rancor, Nemesis, Blood Warden, and something else, I don’t think it was NOED though. He did nothing the entire match, all the Gens completed he was hanging out by the exit gate. He killed the Obsession, and took down someone else, another survivor blinded him and they became the obsession, killed them, I opened the gates, he hooked the downed survivor, gates were blocked with warden, so he downed and killed me. Worked out well for him.

Jumpscare Bubba with Dark Devotion, Tinkerer, Trail of Torment, Insidious + indoor map offering. Enjoy :D

Us true clown mains will always stand by the power of clown. :)

I like perks that create chaos and confusion such as Trail of Torment, Dark Devotion, Dragon's Grip, Deathbond over your typical regression perks. It's always fun catching people off guard with some killers they would not expect it.

I run a gen killer doc a lot but I've never tried a basment build on him. This could be interesting.

Yeah I've run that but I often find that mad grit and agitation are enough so monsterous was just what I'd thought I'd try for a bit and it works well when no one unhooks themselves.

I've done insidious/tinkerer bubba but never mixed in dark devotion before.

Fair enough. It was more for the amusement factor.

If you're not placing 20 traps in the basement, you're doing it wrong.

I once made a suggestion that there should be alternate killer objectives. Similar to how survivors should have alternate or secondary objectives.
For instance, you as killer can collect twigs or whatever from around the map and use it to build a shrine in the basement. Survivors could wreck the shrine like breaking a totem while you were out gathering your mats. This Monstrous Shrine if completed would then automatically teleport a survivor to the basement hook. One idea was to rework Monstrous Shrine perk like this.
So now you hold a huge advantages in return for throwing your gen defense.
Just an idea but everyone shot it down and said I was crazy. Well whatever.

It's so dumb and has no business working. When people go for the save, you shock then hit and you can typically down the new survivor at the entrance to the basement. I also like to run the distant terror radius addon for the extra trickery.

You only need 2-3 :) and even then one can do fine.
I don't even run any bags or addons with it lately and still find a way to set up nicely albeit a bit slower.

Legion; dragon's grip, trail of torment. dark devotion, coulrophobia with the iri button and stolen sketchbook
How this works; you never have to kick pallets (iri breaks them on vaulting), good duration on frenzy to get them al injured in one or two frenzy chains. Slow healing with coulrophobia since the terror radius is map wide with iri button while in frenzy + obsession spreading the terror radius with dark devotion after getting hit. They walk right into you when undetectable since legion is so short (do not use bunny legion the ears poke out above things). And to top it off no gen touchy denying my trail of torment because of dragon's grip.
This spreads so much confusion most of the time that I find them running around a deadzone injured. I also make maximum use of LoS blockers when approaching gens to avoid getting spotted early denying the distance. No looping with this build.

I like it. Definitely gonna try this one out, although I may not have dragons grip on legion yet.
