WGLF and Untrapping
Releasing a teammate from Trapper's trap used to grant a WGLF stack, but I've noticed that got taken away recently. Was this an intended change or a bug?

Likely a bug, but who knows.

Bug most likely it's not listed as a way to get tokens.

it was always like that

No it did used to give you stacks for getting people out of traps, but I believe that was patched out in 4.3.0 when they updated the perk and gave it entirely new text/wording.
I don't think it was intended originally, that or they felt it would be too much given the perk was buffed overall. Protection hits were reworked to be more accessible remember, and they did claim anything outside of the protection hits/safe unhooks was a bug originally.
I would not expect this "feature" to return.

"too much" you mean when they "buffed" the perk to add new ways to gain tokens(pallet/flashlight saves) even tho these are not new and it always worked like that? Huge buff, what can I say. Adding something that was always there and claiming it's a buff...
Just imagine the outcry if they did this to a killer perk. But I guess since they did it to a survivor perk it's fine, right? Right?

The real buff was the faster time to pick someone up from the ground. But i really dont understand why this doesnt give a stack.

oh sorry i read the post wrong
i do remember getting a stack from rescuing someone from a trap (dont remember if i got it while playing on 4.5.1 or 4.5.2)

Well, when they clarified what should give Stacks (Pallet Saves, Flashlight Saves), they also removed stuff which does not give Stacks anymore. Beartrap-Saves used to give a Stack, but they dont anymore.
(In the end, WGLF even grants stacks for less things than before they "buffed" it)

I mean they reworked protection hits just before so it got way easier to get those, added a useful effect, cleared up it's description and clarified it's effects, and removed the bear trap part of it.
So overall it's still a net gain by far, you'll get far, far more new protection hits now than you will ever get trap assists across all your games. Also it now has an actual use, and it's even used to great effect against some top players.
Also, they have talked about it before and they explained that originally it was bugged, it was not supposed to award points for those things in the first place; however due to the players reception of it and seeing it in action they decided to add them to the perk finally as actual "features".
Take that how you like, or argue for bear traps counting sure go for it; but at least understand the situation before just attacking someone who is just answering the mans question flatly and honestly.
Yeah no worries my dude, and yeah it used to but it was reworked a bit ago.

They cleared up the info on the perk and added a nice addition now you can pick up downed survivors at 100% faster so yes it is a buff now it isn't just a bonus blood point perk and now has something useful.
To answer the question of the original post I don't think that adding that affect to the game again will be good since there is so many perks that only negatively affect trapper or items that make trapper unplayable or perks that make him unplayable etc so having people waiting to rescue people from traps to get the WGLF stacks is just another thing to have to deal with as trapper.

Jokes on you though cause they don't mention Head On but you still get stacks for that, checkmate BHVR

Well, you protected them from the Trap, lol.
The thing is, Protection Hits are easy to get, but can hurt the team. If someone throws away a Health State (or even goes into Dying State for this), just for a stack, this can lose the game for the Survivors.
The Killer does not have to go out of their way to get Stacks on BBQ, you get those by just playing the game. And quite consistently, I think it happens in one every 50 games that I dont get my 4 BBQ-Stacks. But for WGLF, you either have to take unneccessary Protection Hits or rush for every Unhook you get. Especially since they promoted it with "more ways to get Stacks", but in the end, it were the same ways as before. IMO at least healing from the Dying State should grant a stack, especially since it has synergy with the other effect of WGLF.
Speaking of the other effect, yes, it exists, but it is not useful. Most of the time when you heal someone from the Dying State, they are fully recovered. Meaning the last 5% of Recovery are healed twice as fast. Sure it can has its uses if two people heal a third one while all of them have Soul Guard, they can create an infinite Loop. But thats about it, once one of them stops, they cant do that anymore, so the use is pretty niche.

Are you sure about that? My friend is running Head On and I think the last time they saved someone via Head On, he did not get a Stack.

Last time I did it in 4.5.1 it did anyway, maybe they bugged it in 4.5.2 lol
