I only asked because it's clear to me you're confused about what I was actually saying and some people have difficulty with speech that isn't 100% straightforward/literal. I wanted to know so I could explain my point in a way you'd understand. If you don't want to understand what I'm saying, that's fine by me. Have a nice day.

I'm getting the impression that you think I don't want a LGBT person because of this. That isn't the case, I'm just saying that people are gonna be stupid and do this stuff. You say it won't happen, but it's gonna happen. May not happen immediately but it'll happen and when it does I'll be here to tell you that I told you so.

The devs won’t ban someone if they only broke rules in a third party chat program though. Doesn’t matter if you can provide screenshots for that.

The times have changed. Our "society" has changed. People view things differently and people accuse people of baseless accusations all the time nowadays. Deny it all you want but someone's gonna do it. And if I'm wrong I'll take full responsibility for my stupidity.

So is this your opinion or do you state this as fact? It seems that you could not possibly have anyway of coming to this conclusion from data, but it sounds like your own opinion and preferences.
What groups do you feel should be represented, and which do you feel should not be represented? For instance if less than 5% of the population self identifies as LGBTQIA, do you believe all other social classes of 5% or greater should also be represented?

No social class should be explicitly excluded if there are no game mechanic reasons for that.

i've already stated that, as a gay person myself, i'd love to see representation in this game, but i want it to be handled tastefully and have it feel genuine rather than something just done for the sake of having good PR

We have multiple statements by the dev team that they do really care about this topic and they want to be inclusive and want to do it right. That’s also their reason why they take their time for adding a char thats LGBT, they didn’t want to rush it and just be done with it

It shouldn't matter,but there are/were quite a few people here that thought it wouldn't be a good idea to add a LGBT+ character to the game for whatever nonsensical reason.

So there are thousands of personal preferences about self-identification and social classes. Would it not make more sense to allow individual players to decide in their own mind, or choose a player name which represents their beliefs if it is important to them? Like someone who is Jewish could call their character liteofstarofdavid (appropriate if they are a David King main) or someone could call themselves gayNea.
Remember no one wants to live in a society where their beliefs are dictated or forced upon others.
If you have ever read the book "After the Ball" you know originally the pro-gay folks wanted to shame and guilt others into changing societal norms; that is not a healthy way to conduct yourself in a pluralistic society.

also the devs said they want to be inclusive and they want to add chars that are LGBT+, why should they be forced not to do that.

Trying to find a place where he said gays shouldn’t be allowed. Couldn’t find it. His argument said let people put their own mark on it and even included Jews as an example. You instead tried to imply he’s a homophobe against adding an openly gay character.

this is actually implying not to include those personal preferences and this whole topic is about LGBT+ (not only gay). also this whole statement while heterosexual relationships are already in the game.

The people who say that representation isn't needed never seem to realise that they only think it's unimportant because they don't need it, they are completely unaware of their own privilege.
When people from a marginalised group tell you what would help them, instead of shouting them down and dismissing it because YOU don't understand why it's important, try listening.

rest assured that when the time comes for this to happen, it's happening for the right reasons and not for PR purposes. Inclusivity is something that means a great deal to the entire team.

Only thing this will do will bring about controversy and bad press. This game does not bring up or state the sexuality of any of its characters. You can relate to any of them based off whatever headcanon you can come up with.
Why do you think a chat filter is coming to the game? Its to head off any slurs that will undoubtedly come from exposing your game to this particular topic.
The forums will be full of threads with "The killer tunneled/camp/bm me because I played X" threads. It may become bad enough where it becomes news worthy.

The game explicitely confirms:
- The Nurse had a husband
- Felix has a girlfriend, with a child on the way
- David had an ex-girlfriend
- Frank and Julie (Legion) are in a relationship
Notice how they're all straight?
Why is it only ever an issue when it comes to LGBTQ+ relationships?

I'm gay, but the desire to input a gay character into literally every game, series, or thing in the world is annoying. Stop it, no, you don't need representation about gay people in a HORROR game. Go somewhere else if you want gay representation.

Correct, there are. The point being that there's no examples of LGBTQ+ relationships in the lore, however there are plenty of heterosexual ones. Furthermore, you said that the game doesn't bring it up, when it clearly does.

From what i've heard Twitter is an insanely toxic plattform anyway.People seem to be mad there all the time.

Because this is a game about murder, pain and brutality and has nothing to do with sexuality.
Just think about it, do you really think having the killer murder a gay or trans survivor is good representation? really?

Whilst representation is not important to many people, doesn't mean it's not important to everyone. A lot of people aren't concerned about representation because they're automatically represented in so many things - for example me as a single, white, straight woman - there's quite a few characters in the game that I identify with, without even thinking about it. BUT for some people it's important that they feel represented and it's something that we've said we find important as well - I can't emphasis that point enough.

It has nothing to do with sexuality, and yet we still have straight people representented plenty. So why not have LGBTQ+ representation too, especially after BHVR admitted they want to add this?

This isn't the game for it. There's PLENTY of representation in the general media (depending on where you live) about all the different sexualities, genders and everything that that is non-conforming. Why do we need those characteristics in a game about murder and brutality?
You can say you're represented, but how do you know? None of the characters sexualities or genders have been officially confirmed, so just like everyone else, you're making an assumption there (unless I missed something).

Technically they have been mentioned, as discussed above.
It's never been said though that any of the characters have been in a same sex relationship for example.
And whilst you might not agree that "this is the game for it" I will say this is exactly the game for people to feel represented in - we have a large and diverse player base and they have every right to feel as represented by the characters that they choose to play as anyone else does.
