Is using an Exhaustion perk a must?
For solo survivor do you think using an Exhaustion perk is a must or is there something else that you would rather use? For me Kindred and Windows of Opportunity is a must have. Which leaves me with two perk spots to play around with but one of them is always occupied by an exhaustion perk which really only gives me one perk to play around with. Does it really make that much of a difference whether you have an Exhaustion perk or not?

Simple answer, no. My build is Kindred, WGLF, BT, and Botany with a medkit with charge addons and I do just fine. It forces me to be better with my looping.

I don't for a while and I do fine. You can do well perkless even so don't worry about it. Having a build that works good for you is nice but it doesn't have to be too meta imo.

No, but they are some of the strongest perks, so I guess you may as well use them.

Exhaustion perks are not required in SQ, but they help a lot. SB discourages killers from chasing you, DH is nice to extend loops, and the new perk is good for dumb tech. But if you want to play better and make more conscious decisions removing that safety net can help you.

No I don't think so.
Iron Will is basekit for me as a Jeff main, then BT is almost every other build. Depending on my games, DS is typically a third perk (or Deliverance if my previous 2 games didnt have hookbombers). 4th perk can be whatever, usually Adrenaline or Detectives Hunch

Eh, maybe. You definitely can survive in any average match without an exhaustion perk as many people do but I just find them way too powerful to not use. Dead Hard and Sprint Burst are pretty crazy perks and not using them seems to just put me at a disadvantage.

Not a must but it has potential to extend a chase substantially which on a grand scale of things might shift victory heavily to your side.

I feel im getting better at not using dead hard and i have escaped a few times. So no

It does make a difference to run an exhaustion perk and I notice how much longer I can keep a chase with them. On the other hand, I tend to use aura reading perks, to keep myself informed. That helps me to coordinate and position myself in a way I can hide when needed and buy time for the team without having a chase or to position myself for a better loop if the chase is needed.
I think the information is more valuable to my success, despite my chases being super weak. Kindred + Bond alone allowed me to counter so many kiler strategies and get some escapes for the team (even if I died in the end) that a simple dead hard alone wouldn't (cause my chases aren't that exceptional, anyway).

Well I barely ever use exhaustion perks. I... also rarely escape, so, uh... Maybe? It's possible I'm just trash though.

Nope.
They are good for having strong moments, but other perks can offer more consistent buffs that may be preferable.
My old build was BT, UB, DH, SC.
Lately it's been BT, UB, SC, IS. If anything, this new build had been far better because I'm not planning on DH to help me, so I don't take as many risks. Also, IS can come in clutch.

I have 3 perks that I always use.
kindred, WGLF and inner strenght.
the forth varies, but quick and quiet is a common choice.
you don't need an exhaustion perk, but they are some of the strongest perks in the game
