Wraith is getting an amazing buff, but he still needs some more work done

It was just a buff, and this patch is mainly for the Trickster, but I appreciate how BHVR actually gave him a very good buff. It makes me feel that they listened to the community.

I don't want to seem like I am begging, but I still think the Wraith needs some work. I believe (speaking as if Wraith already has his buff and it is set in stone) his two main problems from being a much better killer. Those main problems are his weak chasing potential and some of his addons.

I'll get to his chasing potential in just a second. But some of his addons are just not that great. His addons that make him cloak faster are useless, his blindness addon is extremely weak, the one that gives him bloodhound is okay but still just weak. The ones that reduce his uncloak time are all pretty much the same... and weak (yes ik they can sometimes come in clutch, but still).

His blink addons should definitely be changed to do something very different. I have two ideas for what this can be changed to:

1) Reducing the range at which survivors see the Wraith while he is cloaked in the 20-meter range from survivors. (3,5, and 7 meters respectively for each tier from common to rare).

2) Reducing the range at which survivors hear the Wraith uncloak (the whisp sound that goes up to 40 meters when he cloaks and uncloaks). From the common to rare "Blink" addons respectively, the whisp sound when cloaking and uncloaking as Wraith is reduced by (8, 12, and 16 meters).

I myself vouch for the first idea.

Anyway, in the past I have said that Wraith is weak because he has no power to help him in the chase which is why he is great at getting the jump on survivors (for the most part), especially with his invisibility buff. I know I said in the past that he needs something to be changed so he has power in a chase, but now... I am unsure because he will be getting 150% movement speed at BASE when cloaked. So the question now is will he need anything else?

He is getting that buff next patch, but if he will get that he won't be addon dependant, and will have fewer addons that have a strong effect (mainly the blink ones which is why I thought of a change for them). And against good survivors, will he have enough to contest them?

I think we should leave his base power alone now. But his addons need a tune-up. Other than that, or at least from what I can see, the Wraith will be in a decent spot which is what everyone has been going for. That buff he is getting real soon will give him what he deserves.

Yeah, I guess he is fine and will only better using his best playstyle with the upcoming buff, but I feel that his hit-and-run playstyle is still very weak against good survivors.

I would like to change the windstorm and blind warrior add-ons to something more useful.

Blind warrior change I will make is.

While in a chase ringing a bell would temporarily be cloaked for 3/6(mud/white) seconds. This will be on a cooldown of 30 second

Windstorm would be completely different, i don't know how good it will be or how bad but I think it might be an interesting add-on

When unclaoking you go invisible for 2/4/6 second (mud/white/blood).

Those could help in chase and could have some synergy with other perks and add-ons.

    Hope you like these changes

Wraiths power is his amazing mobility and stealth potential. Also, he has a chase power, his decloaking lunge wrecks unsafe loops.

I think between the complete invisibility at a distance and the speed boost he'll be fine. At least less dependent on windstorm.

I think wraith like every killer has good and bad maps. If you on an indoor map thats not midwich you will wreck. If you outside you gonna have a harder time.

Agreed that his Add-ons should also be looked at, but i wouldn't just leave his Killer Power alone.

I want this to be released so we can all test him out.

True, he still could probably use a lil' something, but no one can be sure until we see.

Not every killer needs to make jungle gyms into free hit zones.

The little something he needs is for him to be able to hit survivors while cloaked 😋

I mean his selling point is his high mobility and ambush style of play now, He doesn't need much else.

It doesn't matter if survivors know you have cloaked/uncloaked if you can be anywhere in the next 10 seconds (60 meters with not seeing him outside 20 meters) and because of that i feel that it is actually fair that they hear you doing that now.

As with his invisibility it should 100% not be less than 16 meters at the most, 10 or so meters is nothing wraith can literally uncloak outside that range and with the speed boost hit that survivor. having it at 20 meters adds skill to playing wraith where you have to approach from cover, the whole point of the cloak not being seen outside 20 meters is so survivors can't run ahead of time and track you across the map it's not meant to get that close to survivors.

He's a stealth killer, so giving him a chasing power is just too much, especially when you consider that Wraith's playstyle and power allows him to basically get the first hit on the survivor for free, before there's any actual chase or looping involved.

I'd buff his stealth even more, make it so you can't see his shimmer outside a ten metre radius and make the bone clapper add-on base kit to add a fear factor of not knowing when he's exactly coming.

The killers in this game that specialise in stealth, NEED to have strong stealth, not some half-assed stealth that doesn't do anything. At least Wraith needs some type of pure stealth, since GF and Myers have other abilities tide to their stealth.

Naw, this buff was the last he needed. He can cloak, rush ahead of a survivor to body block a pallet or window, or zone the surv into a dead zone, and then use his post-uncloak speed boost intelligently to win chase.

Also, his speed cloaking add on was bad before, but now that he is so fast while cloaked, its more useful. If you use the tech in my first paragraph, you can recloak after a hit to catch up very fast for the down, and the faster you can recloak, the faster you can get ahead of them to deny a loop

Yeah, I change my statement to "I think his stealth should be buffed even more if anything" after reading a few other comments. It would make him unique and stronger at what he does.

While he has some very weak add ons, compared to other killer he has much more usable and strong ones. Now that you're faster you can also use his more niche QOL add ons like Shadow Dance or Blink or the brown one with the brighter blood.

Compared to other killers that i sometimes play like Ghosty or Demo, who have like 3-4 usable add ons at all, his add ons are very good.
