Dead by Daylight should no longer be affected by an outage. Players logging into the game between September 26 3PM ET and September 28th 3PM ET will receive 1M Bloodpoints as compensation.

head-on needs a counter

right now head-on has absolutely no counter besides not walking near a locker.

There is a shitload of lockers all over the map. Avoiding every locker is just crazy.

This perk gets even worse with a coordinated SWF that will abuse this perk to the point you'll NEVER be able to effectively chase someone.

There needs to be some counterplay like forcing an exposed effect without needing iron maiden.

Iron Maiden is the counter to that. It's a perk to counter the perk and it's not pay to get.

Same way how Lightborn is against flashlights, Stridor is against Iron Will and Nurse's calling is against medkits and Self Care.

Stridor, Lightborn and Iron Maiden have pretty much no other use besides hard countering a certain thing in the game.

If it bothers you so much, quit being a baby, get legion, unlock the perk and use it on any killer you play.

I don't think you understand the game Tony, Head On is a survivor perk, survivor perks aren't meant to have counter play. Only killers and killers perks need bundles of counterplay.

To people saying bait it, that is not counterplay. You can sing and dance in front of that locker to try and get the survivor to make a mistake but it's on them, it's their mistake to make. There is no counterplay.

@Mastermind You still take the stun and they get distance and what if they're injured? then iron maiden does nothing

It needs a buff for Solo que, if anything.

Even against a coordinated SWF, you eventually get used to where survivors are leading you, and anticipate which areas and lockers they're going to be in. Also don't forget that if they're all head-oning you, they're not getting gens done. It all comes with gaining game sense and predicting survivors.

That's exactly what head on suffers from. It is incredibly predictable, and once good killers know you have it, they won't fall for it again.

You can know which lockers they’re in but it doesn’t matter, you can’t do anything since there’s no counterplay. Singing and dancing in front of the locker to try and bait them out is not counterplay. Its also hard to avoid sometimes because they keep making the hitbox bigger and bigger so that it can’t be avoided because survivors need their fun.

    That is counterplay.

If they're not falling for your bait you can get the grab. What?

You're experiencing latency issues - not hitbox.

It's usually easy enough to bait it - grabs and latency are generally enough of an issue that survivors risk a grab if they don't jump out on the early side. Some killers, like Twins, Hag, Trapper, and Pyramid Head, have some counters to it built in with their power too. Worst case, though, if you really need that survivor dead, you can always wait for idle crows to disable Head On. That's not a good option in most situations, but then again taking a three second stun due to a failed bait also isn't the end of the world in most situations.

Even if a survivor is injured, Iron Maiden still counters Dance With Me due to the aura reading. Plus, once they know Iron Maiden is in play, they are far less likely to enter lockers while healthy. That makes your life much easier while chasing and also allows you to punish teams that set up Head On ambushes and such.

There is counterplay. You don't go near them. You don't need to always bait it out, you can literally go around it, which usually is a bait in itself.

No, they aren't increasing hitbox size. Hitboxes have pretty much remained the same. When people rage and blame hitboxes for unfortunate hits to their wives leaving them, it's because of latency.

There's no need to be so salty. Head-on is easily countered by identifying and avoiding said lockers, when you eventually get the hang of effective jukes, you can get free hits out of them. It's not that difficult.

Also consider that lockers leave survivors exposed. If survivors get used to jukes, you can use the not inconsiderable size of the "open locker" activation area to grab them out before they have a chance to react.

How about survivors are forced in first person perspective when in a locker and they have to peek through a crack in order to see what's going on and can't hear heartbeats.

This makes sense considering that's how it goes in movies. The survivor is hiding and the camera gives a first person perspective through a crack and the heartbeart dies down.

But as of right now there is zero counterplay besides not falling for their bait when chasing another survivor

bait it or eat the stun. the stun causes them to be exhausted and the 3 seconds will only give them slight distance

As @TauNkosi said, bait it. Besides, the reward you get from a Head On stun isn’t that much and it’s an exhaustion perk which means no Dead Hard 4head.
