A totem counter for solo survivors and slight buff to all hex perks
To help with solo queue against hex perks, but mainly NOED.
I have an idea. Instead of having a counter, what if you had to find a totem but there are five candles under it?
Each dull totem has 5 tiny noticeable candles below it. Each one that is lit will represent another totem still up on the map (does not give specific information for hex totems). Preferably placed in a pentagonal shape for aesthetic.
Each hex totem will have a much more prominent glow from the candles (still in the same pentagonal shape) and have the usual black smoke surrounding it at its base. It could even have a small amount of black smoke dripping down like fog out of the eye sockets. So basically it looks like a dull totem but with more detail and a more intense look.
When a totem is cleansed, all totems immediately lose the flame for one of their candles showing that a totem has been cleansed elsewhere.
A broken totem will no longer have any lit candle or give any other information.
Once all totems are broken, all survivors will hear a calming breeze or sharp whisp of wind (no visual effects, just a sound cue) signaling the cleansing of all totems and will all receive 10,000 bonus BP at the end of the trial (rewarded to a survivor who has cleansed at least one totem, a survivor who didn't cleanse a totem but all of them are cleansed, they will not receive the bonus).
Just a super tiny yet subtle detail could be added to totems that is information that won't buff SWF groups and buff solo queuing survivors. I wanted it to be unique and a cool little thing instead of just having a counter on screen that just tells everyone at all times how many totems are left. It would also feel more immersive. And the best part, it would make NOED feel fairer and much less frustrating to most players if they are hit by it and encourage at least one totem cleanse from each survivor. They would instead think "Well, it is my fault for not cleansing totems even when I had the information to do it" (at least I hope that is what their reaction will be).
As for the small buff to all hex perks, a hex totem is seen as normal until it takes effect.
Do you agree with this being added?

It kinda defeats the purpose of a totem counter for solo queue if the only person who knows the real count is the last one to cleanse a totem. It's still better than nothing though.

Great idea!

I don't think it is that bad because if survivors want to see how many totems are left they have to check on an uncleansed totem. It is better than nothing and definitely something for solo players, they need whatever they can get at this point and I think this idea really will help. It encourages totem cleansing which would be healthy.

Totem counter takes away from the horror of the game.

I like it a lot. Best idea I've seen so far.
Not sure they can do the breeze effect without screwing the frame rate.

It is just a sound que, not a full on animation.

Fair enough, that could really work!

Which is why I made something that immerses survivors more because they have to look for totems to know how many are left making it more immersive. I specifically said I didn't want a number counter, but something you have to look for in the environment.

alternatively:
just have a marker for whether or not there still are totems on the field. not how many are lit, dull or anything, just if there are any left.

Is that not what I said?
