How to fix gen tapping
Honesty I believe that gens should immediately be regressed by 5% every time you kick them.
This would stop gen tapping and it would buff base regression, either that or always give survivors a skillcheck when they start repairing a regressing generator.
what do u think about gen tapping?

When I started, I assumed kicking a generator regressed it by a bit and started the regression timer that was roughly equal to one player working on it (minus the boosts from skill checks, so it's effectively still slower).
Imagine my surprise when I learned (through the wiki, not through any in-game source) that kicking a generator does NO regression and the kicked regression is 1/4th the speed of a single survivor on it (again, minus any skill check boosts).
It seems pretty counter-intuitive. You're some 8' monster bashing this delicate machinery and it does virtually nothing (other than wasting time). 5-8% regression from kicking seems like it'd make way more sense.

It would make 3 genning too strong. Maybe 1 percent, with a faster regression.
2 -
1% is totally pointless. If regression was 2-3 times faster than it currently is, that'd be better, but it still wouldn't solve the problem of "I kicked this thing with my size 25 face-stomping boot and it's unharmed? That's stupid."

How about we don’t nerf survivors more? This game is very killer sided out side of swf and killers have multiple extremely toxic strategies they can abuse. What needs to happen is a rebalance of both killers and survivors.

For me it's a problem when I lose 2 seconds to kick a generator and a survivor only needs a half second to stop regression, not mention "overcharge" if a survivor leave after tapping gen the skillcheck appears even if move too far from and can still succed skillcheck to prevent a explode.
1% not fix the problem, kick a gen takes 2 seconds, gen tapping about 0,5 seconds.

There are perks for gen tapping.
There are also perks for better bang for your kicks.
You are asking for things that are already in the game...

gen tapping is getting nerfed next patch along with DS.

How is gen tapping getting nerfed?

Source?

if you tap a gen, you lose ds. though, it is pretty click baity.
0 -
You're right, that's totally unbalanced!
Did you know the killer moves quicker than the survivor too?? I mean, what kind of shoddy balance is this?!
It's almost like it's asymmetrical or something!

I propose possible solutions where the game become healthier.

I think 5% would be good. Nothing crazy, but at least worth the time to kick.
2 -
I think the Devs are still convinced that Overcharge fixes it (even though they very deliberately allow you to hit the skillcheck whilst running away)
2 -
Is *that* what you're trying to do?
0 -
that's why you need pop goes the weasel on every perk build.
If you don't have that perk, kicking a generator will be a waste most of the time.
0 -
It could be worth.
sometimes survivors tap gen in front of your face to stop regression.
1 -
"allow you to hit the skillcheck whilst running away.."
devs definitely need to fix this
1 -
If only the devs could fix the killer whining. Alas, they are only human. :(
0 -
It was an intentional design feature. That's the worst part about the whole thing
2 -
Wait...they do?!?@ i never was aware of this! You can tap the gen and run and do it on the fly? You're not shitting me?
0 -
I wouldn't mind if kicking the gen did do more then it currently does, at it usually feels like a waste of time, but I definitely gotta agree that I don't think it should be more then like... 5%, purely because Pop and 3 gens are already pretty nasty against the average team if you know what you're doing on an even half-decent killer.
0 -
I am not shitting you. The perk the Devs pointed to as the anti-gen-tap perk allows you to hit the skillcheck as you run away as an intentional design feature.

gen tapping is fine.

Some killers think they're entitled to more.

I would make base kicking regress by 2.5% and increase the regression rate to 1/2 of a single survivor's repair speed. (I would reduce PGtW to 22.5% as well.)

I guess your opinion is the only one that matters here and killers are wrong.

- Generator progress now only starts after a survvivor finished the " kneel down to work on the generator"-animation.
This would stop survivors from just canceling regression in a single frame.
To buff general kicking/ regression, how about:
- Kicking a generator reduces its repair progress by Y ( Y < 3 ) charges and applies X ( X < 3) charges of "damaged" to the generator. Regression will add 0.25 charges per second of "damaged" , up to a total of 5 charges.
- ""damaged" only gains additional charges while the generator is not being repaired.
- For every charge of repair porgress, a charge of "damaged" is depleted
- Regression stops after all charges of "damaged" have been repaired. Regression stays active during that time. ( ~ 25 % repair speed penalty)
For clarity, kicking a generator would apply a debuff that stops the rempval of regression until you work on it for a time.
Might be a little complex.

What I say here isn't the only thing that matters, but yes, what I'm saying is correct.

They just need a startup animation, like 1.5sec would be enough. Startup animation will do nothing to the progress.
The point is not to make the kick stronger, but only need to make tap in mid chase isnt a thing anymore.
2 -
Definitely devs need to fix it, increased time to complete gens is unhealthy for the game but they should make a gen regression worth it after being kicked for killers, now kicking a gen not is profitable.

This kind of post and comments show how much killer sided is this forum

WILDLY so.

ur comment is very constructive, yes sir.
Instead to contributing with ideas some people come to bother.

Guess you didnt see the post from survivors
Noed is a crutch (once per day)
BBQ is OP
Corrupted intervention is boring
Survivor's Bloody party should not apply to Killer, but Killer's one should apply to survivor
There are at least 4 times more people who play survivors than killers (80% to 20%)

I'm not sure about extra regression for a kick, especially if the percentage is as small as 2%. At 5%, the basic gen stomp has the same impact as "Overcharge", except a guaranteed decrease every time.
If anything needs to change, it's not additional decreases to gen stomps. It may be better if it took maybe 1-2 seconds of the survivor working on the gen before regression stops. That way, it stops the lightning quick gen taps, but neither does it really have an impact on the survivor side.
It doesn't need any major change, other than to remove the quick tap and replace it with a second or two on the gen to halt regression.

My idea. Gen TAP it’s ok. Stop nerfing survs with a kill rate of 65-70%. And probably at least 80% with the ds nerf
0 -
First of all, you can't tell people to use perks in response to something they said. "Use iron will to counter Spirit, use PGTW for gen tapping, it doesn't hold up because not everybody has these perks, and even if they did, you can't modify your loadout mid trial.
Secondly, "Stop nerfing survs with a kill rate of 65-70%". Well you heard him guys, The Nurse, and Deathslinger need to be buffed, and The Pig needs to be nerfed again. That's what the stats say, it must be true.
Completely disregard that tunneling, camping, hook farming, legitimately overpowered ultra rare add-ons, terrible map RNG, over altruism, throwing, griefing, immersion, and survs committing suicide because they don't like the killer/their teammates. These things happen very frequently even at red ranks, but sure, let's buff The Nurse because she's the weakest killer in the game! I'm so intelligent!
0 -
so nurse needs a buff because has a low kill rate
