Why do some perks cause disconnects?

I enjoy trying all the perks in the game and like mixing it up and something I noticed is franklin's demise and devour hope cause the most survivors to disconnect. In 20 games with devour hope I only made it to 4 stacks before the disconnects and hook suicides began. Then most post game chats would say "no Mori for you"

With franklin's people will DC the second they drop their item pretty frequently

Why do single perks cause so many disconnects?

    It's probably a bug.

It's because they feel cheated out of the game. If they bring a purple medkit with good add-ons and you slap it out of their hands its gonna make them upset, same with getting moried by devour. Honestly it's all really petty but you get the points for them disconnecting so I guess there is that

Imagine bringing an item into the game that costs up to 19,000 blood points. You’re already gonna lose it if you die (or lose the addons and escape without Ace in the Hole). Now imagine even if you escape, or die with a White Ward burnt, you still lose it... because the killer has a perk equipped and hit you with one basic attack.

Franklin’s is way too punishing for very little input from the killer. What if survivors had a perk where they stun the killer once, and remove his or her addons for the rest of the game if he or she doesn’t hook someone in 1.5 minutes? Same idea.

Imagine if killers could find the old Mori's in a chest.... Crazy.

I don't understand DCing against either perk tbh. If a killer has Franklin's it means they're running a 3 perk build essentially because smart survivors will store their items somewhere and go to them when needed against the perk. Hell, I rarely bring even a mediocre medkit.

Devour gets DCs because I think people just generally dislike being... Moried? Mori'd? I used to lobby dodge them entirely because they were straight fun-deleters. They feel balanced now though. Devour Hope is just a hex though, so when you see that dreaded 3rd stack hit notification you best be hunting for dem bones.

I can understand Devour because survivors hate being mori’d but disconnecting against Franklins is the saddest most entitled thing I’ve seen.

I think it’s the way people view the game. I’ve rarely ever used items as a survivor so I always see survivors as the default way of playing and any item is extra or a bonus.

Some people use items from the start. So if someone always has a medkit they see that as the default and are used to being able to self-heal fast etc so they see it as if they are losing something or have their character hindered in some way.

Ah yes, Frankie's. The perk that knocks an item out of their hand and does nothing else unless that survivor is possessed by suicidally greedy spirit of Smeagol.
