Spirit nerf
I think spirit is fine but people clearly don't think so, so I guess she needs a nerf lol. A good nerf for spirit is making her phase directional, that's enough lol now she's B tier.

All I think that needs to happen is allow survivors to hear her footsteps again, and perhaps rework MD ring.
6 -
There needs to be some sort of counterplay to her
6 -
She doesn't need a nerf as much as a solid counterplay. As is, all ways to counterplay her are established in 1.) guesswork, 2.) perk reliance, and 3.) hoping she makes the mistake. A lot of good Spirit players have posted on here how easy it can be to fake out Survivors by just standing still and listening.
2 -
Remove her ability to hear survivors during her power (including footsteps) and maybe give her a speed increase during phasing to compensate. Makes her predictions take a lot more skill. There are probably better ways to nerf her but that's how I would.
5 -
There would literally be no way to track survivors
M1 killer intensifies
8 -
Just bring back the bug where survivors could hear her breathing while phasing.
2 -
As a Spirit main, I don’t want her nerfed, I just want her to have reliable counter play. She desperately needs a change as much as I love her.
1 -
Spirit is fine, she just requires a higher skill level to understand how to counter her.
20 -
That’s not a good idea at all. All survivors would have to do is make distance and double back as soon as they see her phase. The problem isn’t Spirit being able to hear survivors, it’s survivors not having anything to react to.
0 -
She had a directional phasing sound when she first released and people said she was weak. That sound bug also really hurt her. Maybe survivors should stop complaining and expecting every killer to be weak enough that none of them can stop a good swf team.

I do actually agree even though I was the creator of the post. I seriously have no issue with spirit. Just every survivor I hear says "no counter play to spirit". Yes there is...It doesn't take a genius to understand spirit can't see while phasing. So, run perks which decrease scratch marks. All the survivors are on this post, not a single one has played enough games and used enough perks.
1 -
Perks aren’t a counter. You can’t switch out perks after knowing who the killer is. Having to bring in a perk just in case you get a 1 out of 22 killer isn’t fair.
7 -
awesome idea.. would be an rng fest :D i have a better idea.. remove everything when she phases she cant hear or cant see #########.. ohh and afterphase she can't move for like 4 sec.. there would be a red addon that decrease this by 1 sec.. how about that? :) im really tired that you guys always want to nerf something.. adapt
3 -
Spirit is not fine, she is op and yes, she needs nerf. If they wont, solve is simple. Get catch by Spirit and suicide on hook. Next game more fun without Spirit.

3-4 man swf teams are still the most powerful thing in the entire game. They just want a game where every single killer poses no challenge to them.
It’s ridiculous to talk about nerfing any killers when the game is so survivor sided. I mean they want to nerf Freddy ffs, probably the most overrated killer the game has ever had.
2 -
The problem is solo is so weak in comparison.
2 -
There has been a number of fixes for that proposed but the developers refuse to implement any of them. Almo refuses a totem counter for example because he feels people prefer the lack of knowledge as solo survivors because it creates more suspense. Something like that.
So we end up in this stalemate where swf are overpowered but killers can't be buffed because solos exist.

"A good nerf for spirit is making her phase directional"
That is a terrible idea. Why? Because that is exactly how it used to be. And it was weak. It was bad. You want to change the Spirit instead of adapting? Fine, go ahead. But don't gut her in the process.
3 -
i would like they gring back the footsteps bug (or maybe was a test ? ) because i have ears problem .

Just add phase sound in terror radius to eliminate her stand still mind game. Make it possible to hear her footsteps and see more grass movement in phase

So, pretty much like PTB-Spirit then, which was an incredibly weak killer and actually wouldn't warrant not seeing survivors while phase-walking anymore.

yes
just face it. Spirit is in need of a rework. She is just Nurse if Nurse didn't require as much thinking and mastering. A killer that ignores loops and any sort of defense should have a rough kit to play around with (like Nurse) and once you master that killer you should be rewarded for it. You don't need to master Spirit, you can be just a decent one and still roll the majority of teams that you face.

Yes what?
Yes, Spirit should be nerfed to the level she was during her PTB, gutting her (in which case I tell you to git gud) or yes, Spirit should have her mindgame taken from her, but in exchange see survivors during a phase-walk?

I accidentally posted just a Yes. re-read it
my bad :>

and yet even with mediocre survivors as a 2 man swf we can still destroy most spirits. Anyone that tries to put her on par with Nurse doesn't understand the game and doesn't play killer.
Take gideon god pallet plant as an extreme example. some of the pallets in there spirit can't do a single thing because her phase isn't going to take her around the map in seconds and land a hit from the other side of the pallet. For some if the survivor camps the pallet it's still a 50/50 which side they're gonna be on and spirit only has time to pick one side. Nurse just teleports through and hits within seconds. There's no comparison Nurse is leagues above Spirit.

I don't exactly see how I can adapt further. Three of my four perks are great against Spirit yet one is hard countered by Stridor, I make sure not to rustle grass or make my path too predictable. I've even played Spirit herself, and when I play her I feel like very little can stop me, and I haven't even played a ton of games with her, maybe 20 or 30, there or there abouts.
To put it simply. I've adapted as much as I can. I've changed builds, playstyle and learned the killer itself. If that's not enough, then I'm not exactly sure what is.

Just bring back where you could hear her awhile back every 2 seconds. If gave you a chance to tell where she was but with her speed, she could still trick you if she was good. It was skillful for both sides. Even Wraith has to uncloak and slowdown to hit you.

I shouldn't be running perks to counter a killer. BTW using perks isn't counterplay.
0 -
Survs should see her for 1 sec every y secs when she is z meters away
0 -
A lot of people say that but I don't agree
0 -
The problem with Spirit is how she can react to everything YOU'RE doing (e.g breathing, blood, scratch marks, grass moving, noises, crying, etc) but there's nothing you have to tell what she is doing in particular.
If they were to introduce a mechanic, shown in one of Otzdarva's videos where once she phases, there's 2-3 moments where she's temporarily revealed to the survivor, then it would allow for some form of counter-play as you would know what she's trying to do.
But right now, you're just making guesses against her and hope she makes a mistake.
3 -
Survivors don't want to nerf Freddy, they are. I don't understand how nurse and spirit are stronger and Freddy is the one who needs a nerf. Maybe remove pallets or make his blood snares a little smaller.
1 -
You see, that's my point. Breathing, is fine with iron will. Scratch marks with dance with me, poised or deception. Other perks too. Perks counter killers, how does nobody get that. For example, object of obsession. Although it's getting a nerf, it was really strong against any killer other that stealth ones.
1 -
You can't say ''well, this perk counters this killer, so its fine'' because you cannot change perks mid-game and expecting people to bring a specific build or perk line-up for an odd chance that it could be Spirit, or any other killer they're building to fight against, is silly.
4 -
The biggest problem with nerfing Spirit is now players will want to nerf Nurse again when she didn't need to be nerfed the first time.
1 -
I see way more people complaining about spirit than nurse.
0 -
With every killer nerf comes more power that survivor mains can take hold of. The Freddy nerf in particular is going to make them feel unstoppable. After it, they'll just target any killer that makes it into A tier. Ghost Face, Huntress, Nurse, Hillbilly. They'll all be targets. Hell, some people complain that Clown is too strong.
1 -
@DetailedDetriment She needed no more than 3 blinks no matter what but otherwise, I didn't mind Nurses.
0 -
Which is the irony in all this because Nurse stomps all over Spirit, how that person can say Nurse didn't need a nerf the first time is beyond me. She's the only killer in the game that can ever be considered overpowered.
I see low ranks get destroyed by Freddy in 10 second chases but that doesn't mean that in the grand scheme of things he's overpowered.
0 -
I think it's because of how hard it is to be good at nurse which is why some people think she's balanced.
If everyone was good at nurse EVERYONE would be complaining about her.
0 -
How you think Nurse needed a nerf is beyond me. Her addons needed looked at, yes. A 5 blink Nurse was insane, especially when your fatigue would not increase past like 3 blinks. However, she didn't need addons to make her power worse (looking at both of her ultra rares), nor did she need a recharge on her blinks. At this rate, every killer will have a charge meter on their power and be stuck with trash commons and ultra rares.
The Nurse was never overpowered, but certain addons were. Even then, addons can't carry a bad player, i.e. 90% of Nurse players.

Man people must love playing with you as a teammate. Also she has a fairly simple counter. Walk. No scratch marks and as long as you don't go in an obvious straight line you're usually good. The minute she stops phasing sprint to get some distance while she's confused.
1 -
But there is. Walking away when you think she's phasing gives her no scratch marks to track and sprinting when she reappears gives you some distance as she's probably confused when you're not standing where she expects you to be.
0 -
Okay then what about walking which has no scratch marks to begin with and as long as you're not walking in an extremely obvious straight line is bound to leave you somewhere the spirit didn't expect which give you the option to sprint away when she reappears as you already have distance on your side. This is the counter play I use and its worked for a solid number of times. Not 100% but it wouldn't be fun if it did.

You know I have to agree. If Nurse were easy to use she would be so broken. Objects mean nothing. Aura reading perks and her one add on makes her able to aim with pinpoint precision. The only reason she isn't broken is because she's hard to use but I don't see a problem with that. She's a killer that reward people learning her mechanics as deeply as possible which seems like a nice thing to put in for people who want to play that way. I've only put a few hours into her and I have no clue what I'm doing so props to people who have her down to a science.

"You just don't get it" intensifies
0 -
What are you talking about? She's one of my mains that I use when I want to get to 1 rank.. easy kills..
0 -
There needs to be some sort of tell as she's phasing like having her leave black pools of blood behind or something. These pools can be used to mindgame similar to how survivors use scratch marks to mess with her while she's phasing. You can buff activation charge rate and phase speed to compensate for this change.

I personally think Spirit is fine. A lot of ideas to nerf spirit defeat tge purpose of her kit. I don't think Spirit is the problem I think the problem lies within
Survivors are so use to getting spoon-fed counterplay that they are literally upset that they have to use expirence or their brain to outplay a killer
