do you think botany is good in red ranks? (or in general)

i've started using it frequently. i see sloppy butcher and thana often so i use it to counter those perks too. usually botany + bond is my combo. i quite like we'll make it but i'm usually the one doing gens so i never use it.

I think it's good but not as a stand-alone perk. If it's combined with Desperate Measures or WGLF, then I think it's very good.

It's definetely a solid perk, especially with med kits

It's definitely a staple in any good Altruism build. I use it with Desperate Measures, Self Care and Resilience. If everyone is injured, you can 99% heal yourself and get that Resilience value healing everyone else and/or pump out some gens.

yes

Yeah just as sloppy slows down healing botany speeds it up and buys you more time to do other things. I've had some clutch last second saves thanks to botany, and it makes self-care more bearable.

Yes. Botany is a simple but decent perk. Lowers a 16 sec heal to 12, which is pretty good. Even counters Sloppy Butcher/other mangled add-ons.
Only killer it's bad against is Plague.... all 4 of them.

Yes, but like most survivor perks it's not good by itself and it doesn't give you a second chance just for equipping it, so it often gets ignored in favour of other options. Why put in the effort of making a good build for a nice passive effect when you can just use the basic meta build?

My main build is Botany, Desperate Measures, Self-care and Borrowed Times. I like being able to heal people quickly or heal myself quickly to go take hits for the person being chased by the killer.

I like the concept of altruistic/healing perks but from what ive found in red ranks is that if you are spending time doing anything but a gen or being chased, you're probably going to lose.
Obviously this makes more of a difference when you personally know you suck at being chased, or you dont have bond/other aura perks to prevent yourself from screwing your team over. Healing and or being healed is better than dying in chase after 12 seconds
while unrealistic in your average match, a coordinated team in danger of being wiped wont take healing perks and will instead all just reset🇹🇲: go off into a far corner until everyone's healed then continue the match as normal

It is great, but just not as good as the meta perks.

It's a good perk, especially if using it with other perks.

As long as you combine it with a medkit to make use of the item efficiency as well as the speed, it's a solid perk.

I like it as part of a healer build. On Claud I run her own perks plus a medkit, no one else is allowed to self care except me and I put a stop to anyone trying it with empathy.

It's an okay perk. It definitely isn't a meta perk though.

Mediocre at best imo.

I would probably use Desperate Measures instead.

It does need to be paired with something
probably why no one generally runs it, it’s not a crutch and has no second chance potential.

It’s extremely good, and extremely underrated. Having it be an instant counter to a meta perk is already good enough. Extending the life of a med kit to keep healing yourself and others quickly is even better.
In my opinion it’s absolutely essential to run Botany Knowledge with Self Care. Running Self Care without it just makes the player an idiot.
I’ll often run Botany Knowledge with Leader so that any healing done to others or myself is always faster.

I think it is a fantastic perk, but only at Purple tier. Some perks are perfectly valid at Green or Yellow tiers, but Botany you absolutely need at Purple in order to get the value out of it.

Botany and Self Care is good, but for self healing I prefer Inner Strength or just using a med kit. As a solo player when I wanted to do an altruistic/healing focused build I would take a Purple Med Kit with good addons and just run Built to Last/We'll Make It/Kindred and then Sprint Burst so I can get to the hooks first and I have some sort of meta perk that can help in chase, but Botany would probably work just as well as We'll Make it. I kind of hate using a healing build as a solo player , it's probably fun in a SWF though.
