Victor's pounce should break pallets

I don't get why Victor's pounce doesn't break pallets.

It's vulnerable for Victor already to miss a pounce, it should allow him to break pallets.

It has a charge time, a huge delay and only one state damage on hit.

It should guarantee pallet breaking.

Twins are already decent at tiles so long as you positioned Charlotte right

I mean whatever gets people to play twins, because right now they are the least played killer in the game.

    Or that.

But I think Victor should at least be able to break pallets even if he misses and does his little annoyance thing.

He should still be vulnerable of course, but I find it so weak for Victor to get blocked by anything that comes in his way.

Yeah... but they're so gimmicky that it's more tiresome to play them than fun.

He just needs to be able to vault windows IMO. He can already pounce windows and pallets with the exception of Haddonfield houses that launch him to the other side of the street.

I think those are kind of unintentional since half of the time he pounces through, half of the time he doesn't.

He's a core mechanic around The Twins' gameplay yet he is so weak it makes me kind of wonder why they made them in the first place.

First, he's the size of half a pallet. I get that the entity confers strength to the killers, but that's stretching it.

What I would do is let him run under the pallets. He's small, he should squeeze right through quick and easy.

Victor is already strong and extremely annoying to play against so I am against giving him more help. The only real counterplay against a good Victor is just healing and then abducting him for as long as possible, which is not fun. All interactions with him are just annoying. You basically alligator run and pirouette and hope he misses. Fun fun. Even kicking him, which used to be satisfying, now really isn't because he regrows in like 3 seconds and can be right back on you in no time.

As is I think his regrow timer should be substantially increased and his pounce speed should be substantially reduced in exhange for a faster charge time. I would also reduce his base movement speed, but give Charlotte some advantage over a basic M1 killer to even that out. I'm just tired of dodging wildly, Victor launching 180 degrees in the opposite direction, and then teleporting to my shoulders. I want to be able to counter Victor with skillful play, not just play ping / hit detection roulette. I certainly don't want more of the same, plus Victor easily clearing out all of the downed pallets on the map.

I mean why bother, he can just leap across and hit a survivor on the other side of it. He can block lockers, give free tracking. And have amazing control over all. Twins are strong, Victor doesnt need to wipe out Demo boi.

Climbing on top of them (besides other obstacles) would be much more fun and thematic.

Twins are plenty strong. Trust me. Stronger than Hag. Victor is a guaranteed hit at pallets if you know the distances and timings. Literally nothing a survivor can do if he has a Toy Sword/Forest Stew.

Source on that? Also, low pick rate doesn't necessarily mean a killer needs buffs, especially for the newest one, and especially given how rocky that DLC launch was. Many people probably just never bought the DLC.

I've played hundreds of survivor rounds since release and literally in the past 2 months Jan/Feb I've seen a total of 3 out of like 500+ games at rank 1. I've seen much more plague players which to my knowledge she is technically on stats is the lowest picked killer I think? I think a lot of people can attest to on how rare seeing a twins player is. When new stats come out I bet 5 bucks they will be the lowest picked.

Would also add have survivors receive points for the chase interactions with Victor. Right now you could distract killer by looping Victor for a match but end up getting 0 points from it. Such a waste of time.

I personally don't find him weak. IMO there are many reasons for the twins to be unpopular, but I think that one that's quite important now is how unforgiving the little bastard can be for new killer players. Missing a pounce puts you in a vulnerable state that no other killer has.

The best comparison I think is Hillbilly. As a new player trying to learn how to curve around loops if you fail the survivor, in general, will have enough time to run halfway around the loop, but not to abandon it to a safer tile and you can keep looping around practicing with little to no downtime.

A new player learning to maneuver Victor will possibly be kicked after missing a pounce. You can't just try again, you need to wait for the CD, release the little person run back, and trying to find the survivor that is now possibly hiding. The punishment for someone trying to learn is exponentially higher. There is the other side to the coin, though. Survivors playing against Victor tend to stay somewhat closer to him so they can kick him in time. The game becomes spicier and feels like you can fight back.

That said, no zone on the map should be safe against a killer. Just like lockers were fixed for the twins, areas that can only be accessed through vaults are incredibly difficult for Victor to access, that's why I think he needs to be able to vault windows (Haddonfield houses being the worst offenders).

IMO, allowing Victor to pallet vault would just create the same stale playstyle of trying to dodge a Legion in Frenzy. There is only one pallet at the moment that creates a safe zone and it's in the reworked Gideon, but that is a dead-end and can be used by the killer to trap survivors inside.

In summary, I really enjoy playing against Victor and wish more people would put the time to overcome the twins' steep learning curve. QoL adjustments like the window vault could help there tho.

Isn't being able to leap over the pallets a big enough strength? Only one other killer can move over pallets without breaking them (Nurse) so that is actually one of his biggest assets. Not to mention, as a survivor, there's very little you can actually do against a Victor that knows what they're doing aside from heal every time you get injured so that he can't down you or hug a strong window and hope for the best. And that's not always possible. I agree with one of the commenters above, Twins are fundamentally flawed and would need a total redesign to make them feel good. But Victor being able to break pallets would be a little obnoxious imo.

You're right, I forgot about Legion, but Legion vaulting the pallet feels a lot less threatening than Nurse or Victor launching over the pallet lol.

    Gonna agree with @GodLikeTerror.

The Twins are INSANELY rare to see as survivor.I remember like 5 or 6 matches against them since their release.

It shows that pretty much nobody wants to play them and there's a reason for that

victor is already pretty oppressive he doesn't need more buffs on top of that

in fact lets stop adding powers that break pallets as basekit thanks, Demo and Blight had to use a add on to do it and suddenly got it added as base :/

You could be right, but on the other hand I ran into three last night lol. I'd be curious to see how the numbers look!

Pick rate could definitely be low - it's hard to say for sure without hearing from the devs - but I'm just trying to make the point that there are a lot more factors going into pick rate than just killer strength, especially given how rocky that DLC launch was. I don't play Twins much personally, but not because they're weak; their power is just most effective when you camp and tunnel and I prefer not to play like that. Also they're kind of gross lol

  • HectorBrando
    HectorBrando Member Posts: 3,167

Twins should be deleted or changed entirely and given a new power, a Killer designed to tunnel and slug to such a degree is beyond absurd.

I remember reading somewhere they first came up with a character design and then they created the power around that design, I tought it was a joke since its a terrible design philosophy, Twins is the confirmation they actually create the character first and then plaster wathever power they can think of no matter how awful it is.

The reason people don't play The Twins is because nobody wants to resort to the playstyle necessary to win as her. She is insanely strong as a Killer due to being able to camp/slug with zero downside. Victor is also nearly impossible to dodge with how lenient it is for killers. For a killer that isn't played often, I come across her a lot and every time I do I hope to get tunneled out the match so I can move on because she is incredibly unfun to go against.
