action outside of the game

if a player does something outside the game to harass or bully someone can that be reported in game?

context: bad killer game - they were all toxic I played a killer I never use. they proceed to harass in end game chat and I tell the to f themselves (bad move on my part I know)

they proceed to start harassing me on my steam profile (which I did delete and block them) but is this acceptable for them to do? is there no punishment in game? they didnt use slurs or otherwise be rude just "we're better than you" noise and other trash talk

normally Id forget and move on but since they posted to my steam account and I had a friend get concerned about it (past stuff not gonna go into) I thought Id ask

  • can I report general trash talk type bullying?
  • can I take action other than blocking them on steam?
  • if I see them in a future game should their previous actions be counted if they DO deserve a report?

    If they harrass you on Steam you can either block or report them or both. Once they've gone to your Steam profile thoes actions are under the moderation of Steam and not Behavior.

    ok so basicly, if the say the n-word, thats bannalbe i tihnk.

    Everything else is free game, aloth, if the harass you after the game and keep doing it, i think that's also bannable.

    but saying "gg get gud" or "ur bad" i dont think that bannable. also, the devs are adding a explitive censor option in the next chapter (like 2 ish weeks from now)

    Well, BHVR can ban them only for actions they made in the game. If you were harassed in post-game chat you not only can report them, but should - there is a separate block for exactly it and it is actually a bannable offence. So reporting them in-game definitely helps, although cussing isn't prioritized as much as, say, hacking (which is understandable, knowing that most people just butthurt in chat and don't actually mean what they say). Then again, if the player harasses people in post-game lobbies constantly - they will get banned.

    But if they proceed harassing outside of the game - for example on Steam - the only thing you can do is report them on, well Steam, through Steam Support. As it is already a Valve's problem, not BHVR's. Steam isn't BHVR's property, so they hold no accountability for what happens there, and they frankly shouldn't.

    AND I don't think that you'll get paired with them in-game after you blocked them. Never happened to me, at least.

    How "gg get gud" or "ur bad" can ever be bannable anywhere? lmao. It's not even an insult (at least no adequate people take it as such), it's just comparatively innocent trash talk. Same with "ez", "babykiller", "noob" or smth classic like "boo hoo it's just a bad map and not my main killer otherwise i would've killed you all on 5 gens, please believe me, i'm really not desperate for attention and not overcompensating" lol.
