The Trickster was hinted at in Tome 3
The Trickster is a Killer that gradually damages Survivors with knives. Their progress towards their eventual health state loss is called the Laceration Meter.
Here’s a quote from Tome 3:
“It's always entertaining to watch a Survivor try to escape with a femoral artery lacerated. Some victims actually get quite far before shock and cardiac arrest overwhelm them.”
It’s pretty cool that the Tomes hint towards new characters. Elodie was hinted at in Tome 1.

I kinda figured that Elodie would appear, but, I'm mad she did, my ears have been damaged because of her for quite a while

That’s pretty cool! Guess we’ll have to look for other hints

Forgive this pleb but how was Élodie referenced? I’m away form my ps5 otherwise I’d checked myself.

That’s so ridiculously vague. They could have tied reference for that into literally any new survivor.

Oh dang I remember reading that way back but for some reason completely forgot about it. It’s pretty cool that the devs are hinting at upcoming characters. Oh and btw thank you!

not really.
a cult for The Entity exists
as we know elodie gets attacked by a cult that worships the entity. no other survivor has this.
but the memories suggest she was a detective of sorts
we know elodie was someone employed as a detective and collector of strange, mysterious artifacts.
I'm not sure what happened to her
and thus it had to be a female survivor.
it's pretty clear when you compare their lore that it's elodie.

no worries :)

I'll agree with points one and three that you brought up Karu, but not your second. As it says in the Arcus, the unknown Survivor was trying to prevent a cult sacrifice. Elodie was looking for a skull. Two very different things.

If you look at her lore:
According to legend, an occult incantation was engraved on a set of skulls, all of which the Collector possessed except one—the witch's skull.
Yeah, she was stealing a skull, but it was a skull with an occult incantation. Plus, Charlotte & Victor were gonna be used as sacrifices to the Entity by this cult. I'll give you that it's not a perfect attempting to prevent a sacrifice but it does half-fit.
Also, please, call me GoodBoyKaru. "Karu" is reserved for people I trust I know a lot more and, no offence, I don't recognise you at all.

No offence taken. I just always call you "Karu" in my head because it's easier. I'm just glad we could come to a half-fit on this evidence, because it works otherwise.

Oh yeah in your head it's fine, it's just a personal preference and I'm sorry if it's inconvenient '^-^
And yeah, it's like 1:30am and thinking is hard, I don't wanna try and piece it together any better so the half-fit is as close as we'll get lol

I never expected this video to be relevant in 2 posts

Elodie possibly. But that original reference has nothing whatsoever to do with the trickster. It fits even legion way better with mending. No killer actually slashes a femoral artery, and at least half of them use blades.

The word laceration is pretty specific and isn’t used in the description of any other Killer’s power just Trickster.
Also, the description describes the Survivors dying rather quickly or lasting a long time depending. Again Trickster can melt people in his power with Main Event. Or miss a decent amount of shots and take a long time for his down with his Laceration Meter. That seems pretty specific to him. Most Killers instantly deal damage with their hits the only exception is Trickster and maybe Plague.

Oh I didn't remember that his power gave a laceration meter lol

Isn't Èlodie a treasure hunter of sorts? I don't recall her being a detective in her lore.
Also, she was directly kidnapped and attacked by the cultists, not preventing it.

A detective of sorts. She collected them for someone else, yes, but she also investigated them. What do detectives do? Investigate.
How do I know she investigated them? Her tagline is literally "An occult investigator".

Bit of a stretch imo, a laceration is just a cut and over half the cast uses blades or claws. I feel like you're seeing things through in game mechanics and not realism.

On the one hand, thats pretty cool. On the other hand, I guess in this world people rapidly heal from a sliced femoral artery in a matter of seconds...

Still holding out hope for Pig-lady as a killer!
